Hello, can someone help?

My real HD5770 in the real MacPro3,1 no longer works with High Sierra. Blackscreen, no Injector iGPU.
With Sierra still OOB.
WhateverGreen + Lilu in S/L/E does not work for me.
The real MacPro3.1 works here without Clover.
Only a rollback of the Sierra's Kext works with HS.

Does the Grafkkarte have to be registered in WhateverGreen?

Hello.

This is definitely not a WhateverGreen issue.

For now only a rollback of Sierra kexts works.

Maybe in future there will be a Lilu plugin for this.

@DSM2

Rollback from Sierra for the 5000 controller series without Injector iGPU:

AMDRadeonX3000.kext

AMDRadeonX3000GLDriver.bundle

IOAccelerator2D.plugin

IOAcceleratorFamily2.kext

Hi there! Cinebench test result is 85 fps in MacOS 10.13 and 100 fps in Windows10. I'm using whatevergreen + lilu. So, is it normal or there is something wrong?

Never, ever, ever, ever again ever compare OS X benchmarks to Windows

I have 7700K and using iMac 18,3 SMBIOS. I have noticed the connector senseid are exactly same for both Sierra and High Sierra, the sense are

0 is type 00000400 (DP  ) flags 00000304 feat 0100 pri 0000 txmit 12 enc 04 hotplug 06 sense 01

1 is type 00000400 (DP  ) flags 00000304 feat 0100 pri 0000 txmit 22 enc 05 hotplug 04 sense 03
2 is type 00000800 (HDMI) flags 00000204 feat 0100 pri 0000 txmit 11 enc 02 hotplug 01 sense 02
3 is type 00000800 (HDMI) flags 00000204 feat 0100 pri 0000 txmit 21 enc 03 hotplug 05 sense 04
4 is type 00000004 (DVI ) flags 00000004 feat 0100 pri 0000 txmit 00 enc 00 hotplug 03 sense 06

Wondering if changing the sense would fix it.

Spec: 7700K, iMac 18,3 32GB RAM, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8G
Issue: Dual 4k monitor works in Sierra 10.12.6, but in High Sierra 10.13 second monitor does not get signal.

One difference I noticed, Sierra uses AMD9500Controller and AMDRadeonX4200 whereas, High Sierra uses AMD9500Controller and AMDRadeonX4250

Finally found the solution.

Thanks Mork vom Ork for the suggestion in other forum. By following the suggestion, all I had to do is, set CFG_USE_AGDC to false (0x00) using SSDT. For SSDT I used the template provided in WhateverGreen FAQ (https://github.com/vit9696/WhateverGreen/blob/master/Manual/Sample.dsl). I took hint from the line

// This will change CFG_FB_LIMIT in aty_config to 6
                        "CFG,CFG_FB_LIMIT",
                        0x06,

and actually made it look like

"CFG,CFG_USE_AGDC", Buffer () {
0x00
}

This effectively disables AGDC in the card.

I checked 10.12.6 and found using iorey that this CFG is actually false there, in 10.13 it was true by default. The fix in SSDT and WhateverGreen together, both the DP monitors are now working at 4k.

Thanks again Mork vom Ork and Vit9696.

Guys, i need help.

New 8700k build, works great with good bench scores on Geekbench 4.

But on OpenCL, i have a very low score for my RX580: 40k+-

I have full acceleration with latest Lilu&Whatevergreen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have 7700k, but was also having similar issues, like the initial score would be 130K range and if taken after a while, it would be in 80K range. I found the running simple webgl page would take 100% gpu. After enabling quick sync (HD630) and setting ig-platform-id to 0x59120003 helped improve the performance and it didn't degrade after some use. I am using imac18,3 smbios. This may not relate to your case, but just incase...

Maybe I can help!

U could try out Mieze's DSDT Patch, that doesn't need any sort of UEFI-Support!

it does not work with two GPUs

with a Gpu running with Sierra and with High Sierra, if I insert the second GPU restart
2x AMD r9 270x

Good with a single GPU HDMI, DVI, Dvi, DP work, stop / wake up OK, Good HSierra replace kext

with two GPUs nothing, restart :(

Hey guys, i'm having issues with my RX 580. Theres a performance degradation over time but i don't know what triggers it.

If i geekbench after a boot i get a good score of 140K+, but sometime after it goes down to 40k, all other 3d apps are slow aswell.

Monitor sleep is not the trigger like i thought, its like 1 hour+ after initial boot.

Did anyone encounter this? i have the latest Lilu&Whatevergreen with full acceleration.

Thanks

EDIT:

GPU name doesn't change between the scores.

Sleeping and waking fixes the issue, and i get a good benchmark 140k+. whenever i open twitch.tv ( chrome or safari) i get a bad score afterwards.

Had the same issue. What fixed it for me was activating IGPU in UEFI, leaving PCIE as primary graphics, changing GFX0 to IGPU (you can do this via Clover hot patch) and changing ig-platform-id to 0x59120003 to make it appear to macOS as connectorless. No slowdowns anymore.

Success on a MSI RX480 Gaming X 4GB. Thank you very much for all the effort.

How did you managed to make your rx 480 work?

Would you mind sharing how you did it??

We’re looking for a solution here

Hello, I really didn't do anything special. Installed latest Lilu.kext and WhateverGreen.kext on 10.13 folder in CLOVER/EFI/kexts. One thing that might be different to other installations is that I have CSM enabled in BIOS. I utilize it like that for a personal reason of mine, my 4k TV will not stay in Gaming Mode (in which 60hz is possible) unless CSM is enabled.

EDIT: Also, I am using DP 1.4 output converted to HDMI 2.0 for that TV, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the success.

Thanks for your comment,

I tried this but now i can't boot into macOS

[iGPU] driver failed to load could not connect to framebuffer

i have Intelfixup kext, FakePCIID, FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.

i can actually boot successfully with only the igpu so the kexts are working but when trying AMD + iGPU together i get this issue.

Can you share your EFI? maybe i missed something

Thanks
