Rammjet
Any demonoid members whom would like to bring a fella into the warm? ( Need an invitation ) This isn't a thread for Demonoid invites. There exists one on the board. And Demonoid is currently permitting users to access their site without signing up. So just go and have fun. GBK.Xscape
not quite rammjet. they are letting people download torrents that are under a month old. for older than a month torrents you need a membership Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29224-1048-by-jas-just-posted-an-hour-from-the-time-of-this-post/page/7/#findComment-202330 Share on other sites
Rammjet
not quite rammjet. they are letting people download torrents that are under a month old. for older than a month torrents you need a membership Technically true. But since he is posting in the 10.4.8 JaS thread, it isn't hard to figure out what he is after. And that torrent fits the bill - he doesn't need a membership to get what he wants. Besides, Demonoid changes its policies so often, by the time he gets there, the whole thing could have changed. mka101
The JaS update worked perfectly for me, no problems what so ever... Great work on the patch Anyone else having problems with DVD Player though? On 10.4.7 it would give a crash message when I oppened it and then it would close, and now on 10.4.8 it just opens and closes instantly. Nah All my apps are working. Test out dvd player works like a charm. front row, ilife 0'6 suite etc. everthing is working Dude this update rocks. It is sooo fast :-D. And i read up on that RD2d thing. Seems like it's a robot that replaces TPM and decodes and encodes things in real time. Is that correct? pocopico
I read this thread and others related to 10.4.8 update and I don’t believe it. Am I the only one that has problem? I did the update several times on my desktop. ( P5LD2-VM 945G + Celeron D341 ). 1st: I installed RC1 of Kiko and that really messed up my system. Tried several things like repaidpermissions, copy over some files, installed on top Kiko RC2 but I ended up with my screen on an r2d2 loop and nothing happened. I then even tried on the same installation to upgrade from single user mode by extracting the archive and manually run all the postflight commands but that did help either. I noticed for the first time then that the archive overwrites the link of /etc with a directory /etc/ that only has /etc/rc and /etc/printcap. Fixed that by removing the dir and recreated a symlink for /etc from /private/etc. 2nd: Since the above didn’t help at all I decided to backup all applications & user dirs and erased my volume, reinstalled 10.4.4/5 then upgraded to 10.4.7 using JaS combo update and finally after successful reboot I went for 10.4.8 JaS upgrade. The same thing happened. /etc was overwritten and system was complaining that it couldn’t find /etc/master.passwd. I fixed all /etc problem and the repairpermission ( by the way it is not working in single user mode and had to used install dvd ) but then i ended up with the looping r2d2 problem. I then did some research and found the OpenGL and GMA problem. 3rd: Reinstalled 10.4.4/5 then upgraded to 10.4.7 again backed up all /System/Library/Extensions & /System/Library/Frameworks and did the upgrade to 10.4.8. Run again on the same problems. 4th: On my laptop nc6220 ( 915 + GMA ) the same problems after upgrading to JaS my laptop in now in a stage that i after the boot i end up on a blue screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Even to downgrade but without loosing the data on my volume. I have now my desktop 10.4.7 running how to try to upgrade again? Is there any step by step guide so far? Thanks. asapreta
He has made a few. Here is one: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=200424 Yes, thanks. I was able to find it afterall. But I think he could elaborate a bit more for those who even know that is necessary the original combo update from apple and use Pacifist to extract the kexts. Snollygoster
Hello all. I updated using the SSE3 Intel Update from JaS I moved the postflight.script in the Resources folder before installing the update. I have these issues. I can't open disk utility. I can't mount any disks. If i use spotlight to search and click show all results spotlight crashes and reopens. I tried to use disk utility from 10.4.6 but it won't open. I tried repairing permissions from the 10.4.3 DVD and still no luck. I also get these decoding messages while booting. Any help please? If I got fubared is there any easy way to revert 10.4.8 installation? Rammjet
is this the right way to update my System from 10.4.7 to 10.4.8 ??? You don't have to keep running the postflight script if you move it per JaS' instructions. See post 171.
