Rammjet
DavidT and all the rest of the people asking for invites to demonoid. you dont need and invite to demonoid to get to the torrents section Uhhh, I believe you do. You have to be a member of Demonoid to use the torrent you download because the torrent is customized to your userid. That's how they track your download/upload ratio and will ban you if you don't keep it up. Currently, on weekends, they are having free sign-up to become members. Otherwise, you need an invite. The Shaun
boot your os x install dvd and use disk utility to repair the permissions on your installed system, that should do it.all the postflight does is repair perms and fix smb. Still no luck =( I'm thinking it has to do with some graphics framework. Dashboard is broken too. I'll start changing stuff around and hope for the best. Just click on Torrents and do a search for 10.4.8 and you will see jas sse2 patch and sse3. Click on the one you want and choose to download with HTTP tracker or UDP tracker. Voila done You only need to login for torrents that are over a month old. THen it requires you to login to download those. Newly torrents you can download freely. Arsenicson
Seems like i rushed too much to intall JaS 10.4.8 update over 10.4.6 - i was just thinking it's a combo package. Now i have Safari killed (reparing permissions did not help) and Aperture 1.5 still doesn't work... any idea if this could be remedied or i'll have to reinstall the whole thing? thanks in advance Try installing 10.4.7 JaS combo update then run JaS 10.4.8 update. If that does not work: Try reinstalling 10.4.6 Jas DVD update on top of your existing installation, the JaS 10.4.7 update then JaS 10.4.8 update. I ran into something similar when I tried installing 10.4.8 on top of 10.4.3. I went back and installed 10.4.6 JaS DVD -> 10.4.7 JaS Combo -> 10.4.8 JaS Update. Just be sure to reboot between each install. DavidT
The JaS update worked perfectly for me, no problems what so ever... Great work on the patch Anyone else having problems with DVD Player though? On 10.4.7 it would give a crash message when I oppened it and then it would close, and now on 10.4.8 it just opens and closes instantly. Rammjet
any word on the ULi sata controller in this update? So, you think JaS solved your ULi SATA problem, didn't bother to tell anybody about it and slipped it into the 10.4.8 update to see if you were smart enough to discover it? Or, you think Apple decided to create an ULi SATA driver and slip it into 10.4.8 even though Apple doesn't use ULi hardware and has no incentive whatsoever to create a driver? cabegol
Hi, Everything worked fine! Just remember to drag and drop the postflight script into resources folder, I had to hard reset my sistem after the update, but everything ran smoothly from there on! My system was running Jas 10.4.7. I've been working in Final Cut, Aperture and DVD studio Pro with no problems at all (under 10.4.8). GMA 950 + DVI ADD2 Card is still working perfectly. Good Luck! Great work on the patch Anyone else having problems with DVD Player though? On 10.4.7 it would give a crash message when I oppened it and then it would close, and now on 10.4.8 it just opens and closes instantly. You need a card that supports CI and QE. It's a hardware issue. If you don't know what that means, look at the WiKi and you'll find plenty about it. Thanks JaS. Things are rolling out smoother with each release. Got this down to a science. I found, when replaced /sbin/mount_smbfs with old one, this message doesn't appear, but i won't connect saying that password is incorrect (but it is correct, tried several times). I don't know about that error, however, you should never have replaced your mount_smbfs file. I am not sure if the mount_smbfs is different for the 10.4.8 than for 10.4.7 Update, but since it stopped the error message, I would say it was different. The first thing you should do is samba fix included with the postflight from the JaS update. If you execute the postflight script at a command line or edit it with a text editor and just follow the steps at a command line, it should fix your samba problem. If that doesn't work, I would use the smbfx.kext and the mount_smbfs from 10.4.6 (I can get them to you if you need them, just PM me) and then run the shell steps included with the postflight script to repair it for 10.4.8 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29224-1048-by-jas-just-posted-an-hour-from-the-time-of-this-post/page/4/#findComment-201411 Share on other sites
