I am sorry to ask again but lighttpd is a lightweight web server that can serve files. So are you saying that while dowing a "download linked file" from safari the image is getting corrupted?

I have never set up samba before but if you think it can help I will figure it out

I do not know. What I want to say is just eliminates the possiblity of corruction.

Samba is very very reliable and lots of people use it.

Bottom line here, I do not think of any reasons not working.

Installing is simply copy files to disk and run some scripts.

Your installing system works fine and no errors what so ever.

Does not make sense.

OK, just kill it.

I think you originally downloaded an installESD.dmg file in Linux side.

If you think your downloaded file is ok, then let's try with the file in linux side.

(I strongly believe installing media file is corrupted you used. Except this, i don't see any other cause)

First, setup a samba server in linux with sharing directory which your install file resides. If you don't know, let me know.

Then, boot into SL. At top menu in SL, click "Go/Connect to Server".

At Server address, type smb://"your smb server name which you set in linux", then connect to it.

Now, you can access the file directly or replace your existing file in SL.

Start from the beginning.

See what happens.

Then is very easy to setp dual booting Win/OSX.

In Win, get a latest easybcd (I think version 2.2), install it.

Settup easbcd and it has an optrion to add a mebu for OSX.

Done.

ye but the bootloader path is wrong and i can't change it

Tell me this - could boot flags cause the installer to hang?

I got samba up, so you want me to directly use the file or download it onto my SL VB?

I am not sure 100%, but I think boot flag is just for booting.

If I am wrong, please correct me (asking mac experts) because I am mac persion.

If you can see the file in linux through samba, just double click a file to mount it.

Erase an installing disk, repeat what you have done to make an insatlling disk.

Could you explain more details what happened. I don't understand what you said.

You mean if I can see the file in SL on VB through samba

Samba is network file sharing program, not file trasferring one.

Once You mount a samba in OSX, it is same as any osx partition.

So, files should avaiable to you.

Did you set up samba server in linux correctly?

Type "service smbd status" in linux, see what it says.

@cannon_dt

One more important thing.

Please make sure you put two files from MBR osinstall package into the right place.

That may cause the problem.

I assumed you did it correctly.

Yup, I did do it correctly as per the instructions - both of them were a replace so I am sure I got the locations right.

All is well with samba, I used the file directly, booting now

While installing "erase" is good enough right, or do I need to do a partition explicitly?

Erasing is enough.

when i'm creating mac dualboot with easybcd

it gives me this bootloader path : Bootloader Path: \NST\AutoNeoGrub2.mbr

and it's not the right one

Same result. Stuck at 18 minutes this time.

My head hurts with this hackintosh thing man, it has been frustrating me for too long :wallbash:

I know. That's why I try to help you.

The only reason for failling I think of is "corruptd installing media".

Your Installing system itself is the part of a completly installed system.

Kernel and booting are are working fine.

I think you better to get a new installing media.

ML 10.8.3 is working great after complete install in VB without any modification except anv kernel and chameleon.

It is ok. EasyBCD create its own bootloader to handle OSX.

NST was created by easybcd. That's good sign, saying you correctly added OSX.

Try dual booting. EasyBCD will not breake your windows booting.

I always use for dual booting for various windows version including OSX.

dkechoi,

Can you please give me the exact link to your kernel?

Also the process remains the same with 10.8.3 too right?

I will try it tomorrow :)

Peace

Your kernel is working fine.

I got it here amd_kernel.zip (Andy's) http://www.insanelym...the-help-topic/

This kernel works fine even with 10.8.4 beta.

The process is same with 10.8.3 MBR Osinstall package.

Take a good rest.

You mean when you try to boot OSX.

OK, I will check my system, and get back to you.

@sabag123

I tried. It works fine.

When you add an OSX entry, choose "mac" tab, select "MBR" instead of "EFI".

Then, you will have "nst_mac.mbr" file in NTS directory.

But, right now, you have Neo*** file.

I assume you have MBR disks.

Try again.

Drive: C:\

Bootloader Path: \NST\nst_mac.mbr

but it gives me "Chain boot error"

Strange. I think nst_mac.mbr is looking for "boot" file in your root of OSX partition.

I have a seperate OSX disk with MBR scheme and OSX was install in a primary partition whith chameleon bootloader.

If you have different setup, EasyBCD may not be able to handle OSX correctly.

For this case, google with your OSX disk setup.

Multi booting depends upon your hard disk setup.

If you want my opinion, please provide details of hard disk setup of OSX.

@sabag123

When you added a menu entry at the first time, did you install "NeoGrub" ?

Delete every entries except a menu for your Windows 7, then add OSX using "mac" tab.

This may solve the problem because neogrub is one of grub bootloader which need extra setup, I guess.

Guys, I need help! I installed OS X Mountain lion 10.8.3 on my pc AMD Phenom II X4 820 and it starts normally, but my video card is ASUS Radeon HD 7750 graphics with "breaking", "distorted" and full of artifacts, it is impossible use. I've tried changing the "framebuffers" and nothing remains the same.

Is it because of the modified kernel for AMD?

I thank you to those who could help me.
