@dkechoi

I am lost. My install distro is Fuduntu.

I am attaching a screen shot of gparted

I really do not get what you are asking me to do.

Do you want me to create another virtual box machine with 10.8.2? I do have its InstallEsd.dmg

Can you please be a bit more explicit?

Peace

How I can do it? With plist editor?

After il'l do that I will be able to choose resolution ?

Yes you can use plist editor, I personally use Text Wrangler. Add the IDs under IOPCIMatch. For AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext you will need to know what filmily your card is. eg Cedar.

You should be able to install Chameleon and boot from there. I have two HDDs. One for OS X and one for Windows with the OS X drive being the primary boot drive with Chameleon to make booting easier.

My sda1 is a 200mb boot parttion, sda2 is swap partition for linux, sda3 is OSX ML parttion.

All others are logical partition. I used exFat file system to communicat between oSes (linux, windows and OSX).

This MBR disk setup with grub2. In this setup, I can not install a Windows because no more available primary partition.

The OSX was installed through Virtualbox and can be booted through grub2.

So, if you give me a right information, we could have the same system as mine. That is what you want, right?

Let's make clear and forget about things what I asked.

Just one information I need is

Where do you have your OSX 10.8.2 install file? Inside VB virtual disk or in your linux hode directory?

@dkechoi

Yeah, lets start clear.

That is pretty much what I want - install os x 10.8.2 onto a partition and use grub 2 to get into whichever OS I want to. I got no interest in windows.

I have the installesd.dmg in both - I set up a local web server kind of thingie (using lighttpd) and I use that to get stuff off of linux into my virtual box machine having os x

Do you need any other information from me?

Gotcha it is mbr :)

That's good. I think you need a lot of works to setup a system; OSX partiotion should be sda3 and move your home parttition(sda3) to a logical partition (it could be sda5).

But, meanwhile, forget it right now.

What is the name of your OSX install distro?

Ok, you are scaring me now, I am not too good with partitioning :(

ML 10.8.2

Do nor worry. It is not difficult, only takes a lot of time to move partitions.

But, we don not need it right now.

Let's setup a virtual ML disk.

To do that I want to know the name of OSX install media like iaATKS 10.8.2 or a retail InstallESD.dmg.

The procedure is different depending on your install media.

Its a retail InstallESD.dmg (I picked it off a torrent)

Then, you need two steps.

1. make an install disk.

2. install it.

So, go to Virtualbox setup of your SL machine.

Go to Storage, add nee two SATA disk to SL virtual machine

It will be good idea one is 12GB, the other one 25GB.

Boot into SL.

You need to make visible hidden files in SL.

If not, get a Show/Hide app and make hidden files visible.

Once done, let me know.

I do not know what you mean here? I initially made a USB installer but I do not have any sata disks. All I have is my 500 GB HDD and one 8GB USB stick. Can you please elaborate?

No. I meant virtual disk inside your SL Viortual Machine.

So, start vitualbox. choose SL, click setting, then you see all settings.

Click "Storage" tab, you see two tabs; "controller IDE" and "Controller SATA"..

Choose "Controller SATA", you see two "+" icons, first one is for CD, second one is disk.

So, click second "+ icon. then choose "create new disk", click "Next" until seeing "File location and size"

Put the name of disk and size is 18GB. Then click "create" icon.

New disk will be attatched to you machine.

Repeat it to add the second one with size of 25GB.

After this, you will see 3 SATA disks. Save it.

Boot into SL.

In SL, you will be asked "Initialize disk", just ignore it.

Make hidden files visible.
