Rede: Realtek 887 Family.
  2. I have just successfully set up Mountain Lion DP4 on my Asus P8P67-m Pro and decided to share what I found with the community. I used a patched version of the latest BIOS (3602) along with the DSDT and SSDT for that version. A modified BIOS is not necessary but should help with speedstep and sleep, and NullCPUPowerManagement will no longer be needed. By using this method I have gotten everything working except sleep (but its close). I found all of this information here and on other forums. I am in no way claiming any of this as my own work, I am simply bringing it all together in one place. Things you will need: A working install of OSX Lion or Snow Leopard A spare USB flash drive, USB hard drive, or internal hard drive (at least 8GB) A copy of Mountain Lion DP4 (Please don't ask me for it. I'm assuming you are a registered developer) Lnx2mac ethernet driver (get it here http://lnx2mac.blogs...osx-driver.html) A mountain lion compatible chameleon boot loader (get the pkg here) My P8P67-m Pro package (attached file) This pack includes (You do not need to download the following list, this is just to give credit): FakeSMC and Plugins (found it here: http://www.osx86.net...nd_plugins.html) DSDT for patched 3602 from samisnake Patched BIOS 3602 (not sure who patched it, but i found it here P8P67-M-PRO-ASUS-3602_modified.ROM) Kext Wizard by Janek202 (found it here http://www.insanelym...howtopic=253395) Installing the new BIOS (DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BAD BIOS FLASHES) 1) In your existing Lion or Snow Leopard install, replace your existing DSDT with samisnake's DSDT from the download package. 2) Remove NullCPUPowerManagment.kext from S/L/E. 3) Use Kext Wizard to repair permissions. In maintenance section check "System/Library?Extensions". This should automatically check the two sub entries as well. Choose the target disk, it should be the Lion/SL install you are currently in. 4) Install the new BIOS. I did this by putting the BIOS ROM on a flash drive and booting into the flash utility. *****FLASH THE BIOS TWICE****** I'm not sure why this is necessary but according to Asus, IT IS! If you do not do this zombies will eat you. I updated from the flash utility, then rebooted. The system forced me finish the flash, then rebooted again. I then repeated the whole process. No zombies. 5) Reboot as normal into your Lion/SL install. Creating your Mountain Lion installer and installing. To do this I followed eep357's guide from right here on insanelymac: http://www.insanelym...dpost&p=1826183 "My super fast easy method requires you don't install to MBR and that you have a hard drive with chameleon on it already that is new enough revision to boot ML. first, make empty partition available for installing onto on guid only drive, hfs+ formatted. RT click install ML app, mount InstallESD.dmg, navigate to basesystem.dmg and mount it. restore basesystem.dmg from ML install app(to usb or another small partition) via diskutility. Eject basesystem.dmg so u dont get it mixed up with new restored one as it will have same name. [delete packages alias in System/Installation on the new USB drive] Fire up ye mighty terminal and go to bash shell with:sudo -s then copy packages folder from installESD.dmg to System/Installation/ on your newly restored usb like this:cp -R (drag packages folder here) (drag installation folder from usb here) give it a few minutes to finish then do the same copy technique, but this time for mach_kernel from InstallESD.dmg to / of new usb:cp -R (drag mach kernel here) (drag entire usb installer volume here) and done with terminal-yay create /Extra folder on usb and only put in your smbios and org.chameleon.boot.plist, leave your DSDT out use kext wizard to install fakesmc and nullcpupowermanagement [not needed if you used the patched BIOS] to s/l/e on your usb drive, then use kext wiz repair and rebuild cache options reboot as normal, do not change boot drive in bios. At your normal chameleon prompt, choose instead to boot to your new installer (OSX Base system) and use boot flags -v add any other bootflags you normally use that are not already in your org.chamleon.boot.plist install DP4 and reboot back to your old OSX. From there use kext wiz again to install fakesmc to your new DP4 and any other kexts you know are required to boot and copy /Extra folder from installer to your completed installation. I still didn't put my DSDT in it yet reboot, and this time from chameleon prompt choose new OSX DP4 and have fun. Should always use -v to boot until your install is rock solid (with dev preview just always use it)." Thanks, eep. Some notes: My copy of ML was a .dmg file, not an .app file. If you have this, mount the dmg. BaseSystem.dmg is a hidden file at the root directory. You will need to show hidden files. In terminal type "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE". Return. Then type "killall Finder". Return. To unshow the hidden files do the same thing but use "FALSE" instead of "TRUE". The packages folder that needs to be copied is also in the root of the mounted ML installer image. I needed to use boot flag PCIRootUID=1 to boot the installer disk, and the installed ML. Installing P8P67-m drivers Once into your new Mountain lion install: Install the chameleon boot loader from the P8P67-m Pro Pack Use Kext Wizard to install all kexts in the P8P67-m Pro Drivers folder of the pack. You can drag multiple kexts into kext wizard. (IOAHCIFamaily.kext is patched for TRIM support and only needed if you use an SSD) Install the Lnx2Mac driver if you need ethernet support Copy the DSDT and SSDT to /Extra (Use the SSDT that is appropriate to your CPU). Add kernel flag PCIRootUID=1 to the boot.plist in /Extra Reboot. You should now be able to boot directly from your new ML install. If you want hardware monitoring such as CPU frequency and temps, use Kext Wizard to install the fakeSMC plugins that were included in the P8P67-m Pro Package. I used ACPISensor and IntelCPUMonitor. Others may be needed depending on what hardware you have and want to monitor. Of course you're on your own for video cards and other hardware. I use an ATI 5750. If you want to see what i did with that, check it out here: http://www.insanelym...dpost&p=1826652 P.S. This is my first guide, so please let me know if there's anything i need to fix. I hope it helps someone. P8P67-m Pro Pack.zip
  3. Hi, guys! I have core i3-3225(with hd4000 onboard) processor and I'm going to buy other components and install Mountain Lion. But I'm new and not sure that all component compatible to 10.8. my spec: Processor: Core i3-3225(HD4000) Motherboard: ASUS P8B75-M (B75 chipset) Memory: Corsair Value Select 2x8Gb - 1333 or Kingston HyperX 2x8Gb - 1600 Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2Tb [ST2000DM001] or WD Caviar Green IntelliPower 2Tb [WD20EZRX] Without graphic card Please check my configuration and give me advice if something incompatible.
  4. I have an ALC888 audio chipset (VIA audio). I decided to patch up the latest AppleHDA.kext (10.8.2 version). If it doesn't work for you try changing the ID in the AppleHDAController binary to suit your PCI ID (not codec id ofcourse as that is ALC888 or 0x10EC0888) You can get your audio controller PCI ID from IORegistry or lspci Next look for and change: Find DE10E30B Change to XX (vendor upper byte) XX (Vendor lower byte) XX (Device upper byte) XX (Device lower byte) Example: 06118832 = 0x32881106 (allready supported as it is my audio card, VIA VT1708/A audio) DSDT edit is also needed... Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x04) { "layout-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x0C, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }, "PinConfigurations", Buffer (One) { 0x00 } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } This is the _DSM method for injection layout-id 12 Result works great... I'll be updating this codec with each release of OS X No assertion errors or so... If you all post your controller ID's I can implement them in each new release of the kext Screenshot under System Profiler below... EDIT: Update... just hacked the 10.8.3 kext... pleased to announce it works well ALC888_AppleHDA_10.8.2_ML.kext.zip ALC888_AppleHDA_10.8.3_ML.kext.zip

  6. What kernel to use with the Intel Atom N450? I am trying to install Mac OS X Mountain Lion. My netbook is the Acer Aspire One 532h. It has the Intel Atom N450 1.66 GHz. The N450 is 64-bit. I know that because, I put Windows 7 64-bit on this netbook, And because on the Intel ARK website it says it is 64-bit. What kernel should I use? I would like to get Mountain Lion on this Computer. I don't care if the Graphics Card work. That is another project for me. Thank You
  7. Hi everyone! I've got a problem and have no idea how to fix it and even what is causing it. The problem is that my PC with ML 10.8.4 can freeze at any moment and even the Reset button makes it shutdown (not restart) after 3-4 secs. When not frozen, the button works as it should. So, what exactly happens? For example, I'm browsing some site with Chrome, move cursor and it doesn't move. When I press the Reset button, the computer thinks for about 3-4 seconds and shuts down. If I turn it on again, everything works fine. These freezes can happen once a day or more, but can pass by. They don't depend on the program I'm using. I can launch nothing, wait for some hours and get a freeze. Now, something about my configuration. MB: Asus P8Z77-V LX Graphics: Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 670 2GB RAM: Hynix 4 x 4GB OS: ML 10.8.4 original Bootloader: Clover v1958. DSDT: Original + general fixes. SSDT: Don't use it. Mac Profile: iMac12,2 with processor states changed to MacPro3,1's. AGPM: edited, profile for my video card added. Logs: I don't see any errors there. Usually the last records before the freeze are something like: 19.08.13 18:11:19,723 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Created new backup: 2013-08-19-181119 19.08.13 18:11:20,320 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Could not back up OS X Recovery to /Volumes/Data/Backups.backupdb: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=-69737 "Unable to mount recovery partition" UserInfo=0x7fe2f9e7ef50 {NSLocalizedDescription=Unable to mount recovery partition} 19.08.13 18:11:23,485 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Starting post-backup thinning 19.08.13 18:11:23,485 com.apple.backupd[4990]: No post-back up thinning needed: no expired backups exist 19.08.13 18:11:23,590 com.apple.backupd[4990]: Backup completed successfully. or 19.08.13 18:59:51,925 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=120 19.08.13 18:59:51,925 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=183 19.08.13 18:59:51,929 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=139 19.08.13 18:59:51,929 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=100 19.08.13 18:59:51,929 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=145 19.08.13 18:59:51,930 coreservicesd[67]: SendFlattenedData, got error #268435460 (ipc/send) timed out from ::mach_msg(), sending notification kLSNotifyApplicationDeath to notificationID=100 If someone knows what can cause the lags, please tell me, cause I got totally tired of it. 8. Hello everyone I am currently trying to install Mountain Lion 10.8.4 on my notebook, but I did not have much success. This is my hardware: - Intel Core i7 3610QM 2,3 GHz (Ivy Bridge) - AMD Radeon HD 7970M - 8GB RAM - Motherboard: Clevo P150EM And here's what I tried so far and what kind of problems I had: First I tried installing with ##### and myHack. They both had the same problems: I could only boot in safe mode and with GraphicsEnabler=No. I searched a lot and often found guides about editing the DSDT. But since I could not find any for my hardware and I don't quite know how to patch them myself, I tried to find another way. That's when I read about Clover. So I made a bootable USB stick with 2 partitions (one for Clover and the other one for the ML InstallESD.dmg). I can boot into Clover just fine. It detects my two GPUs (Intel HD4000 and Radeon 7970M) and sets the native resolution correctly. Now when I try to boot the installation of ML I have two problems: 1) My USB 3 ports get turned off. At least for any hardware besides my mouse. So I can only use my single USB 2 port. 2) If I boot with my install stick in the USB 2 port I get up to the GUI initialization I guess. After a bit of waiting the display turns black and if I insert a HDMI cable I can see a white background and the spinning cursor on the second screen. It stays that way. I tried using different framebuffers in the Clover config (Aji, Buro, Chutoro), but nothing seems to get me further. Also: I found one post, suggesting to remove the ATI7000Controller.kext for the time of installation and put it back later on. Now that I wanted to try that, I stumbled upon this: I searched my BaseSystem.dmg for the ATIxxxxController.kexts and to my surprise my ML 10.8.4 does not include any ATI7000Controller.kext! My questions are: - Is it possible, that it got removed with the update from 10.8.3 to 10.8.4? Can anyone confirm this? - Do you guys have any ideas what I could try to make the installation not hang? - Is there a way to get the USB 3 ports working during installation? - Does anyone have any experience with AMD's Enduro technology (switching between IGPU and DGPU)? - How do I get the internal screen of my notebook working? I hope I got the most important aspects in this post and that someone can help me to get this installation working. Thanks in advance
-Claudio
  10. Installer runs fine until there is an error a few minutes before it finishes. The Volume doesn't show up in chameleon after rebooting. DP4 installed fine though. I basically followed the same steps installing in a mostly vanilla environment. Any ideas?
  11. Hey Everyone, So I decided to build another hackintosh based off of the Intel DG33TL board - it's VERY solid and is one of the few LGA775 mATX boards with four RAM slots. For informational purposes, here are my components: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 Intel DG33TL Motherboard 8GB Mushkin Silverline DDR2 Mushkin Chronos 240GB SSD (OS) WD Caviar Black 750GB (Storage+Windows) AeroCool 620W Modular PSU Sapphire Radeon 5770 Vapor-X Lian-Li PC-V353A mATX Case OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (Apple Store-bought) Apple Pro Keyboard (USB, white) Apple Mighty Mouse (USB) Apple Airport Extreme (PCIe mod) - NOT CONNECTED DURING INSTALLATION Apple Bluetooth Mod - NOT CONNECTED DURING INSTALLATION BIOS Settings: -AHCI Mode - HPET Enabled - Power Mode to S1 - Latest BIOS Update Applied I got sound and networking functional without much issue, and everything seems to be working nicely. Sleep, however, has NOT been friendly. You can take a look at my sleep worklog here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/77557-intel-dg33tl-sleep-question-mountain-lion.html Sleep was working fine under Lion 10.7.X and also Snow Leopard 10.6.X, and all my settings are the same! That said, I know things change from OS version to OS version, so I didn't expect everything to work OOB. If anyone could help me out, confirm it working on their DG33TL Mountain Lion machine, or even point me in the right direction, I would be much obliged! For those who don't feel like clicking through, this is what I have tried regarding sleep: Attempt 1: DSDT Only. On sleep command, screen would turn off and fans would slow down, but no sleep. Reboot needed for response. Attempt 2: Applescript called "RIP". No difference from above. Attempt 3: Sleepenabler.kext - the correct one for my OSX (10.8.2). I was happy to see that the computer went to sleep, and even woke up, but on awake it froze (no visual KP, just frozen keyboard and mouse) with the following console: It seemed to me that it was related to initializing the voodoohda audio kext, so I deleted that and tried again. Attempt 4: Sleepenable.kext with deleted voodoohda kext. This time it slept, and KP'ed on wake (visual multi-language KP screen present), with the following console: Attempt 5: Tried deleting NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, as recommended here: Sleep Tips. Repaired and rebooted. Tried sleeping, again it went to sleep without issue. On wake, black screen and unresponsive. Console: According to the osx86project wiki, sleep is supported in both Kabyl and Vanilla kernels...it doesn't say when the last time that was confirmed (I suspect Snow Leopard, Lion would be stretching it seeing as I added the Lion information on that wiki!).
  12. I'll just clarify that this section isn't for "omg how to get mountain lion / lion / snow leopard running on AMD". The section is named "AMD Development". This basicly means that this section is dedicated to developing, not asking help. I know I've done this even by myself, but now it's kinda out of control, everyone asking about installing ML on AMD etc. The 3 threads (SL / L /ML) should be dedicated to development of kernels and other related stuff and reports of the developments, not asking "how to get it running i get error". If you need help with AMD on SL for example, you should post on the installation help or if you followed a tutorial, ask the tutorial thread. However, I do not suggest asking with PM, because then other people can't get the same information as easily, and it's not funny to see inbox full every minute. Also, if you need help with the test kernels for SL / L / ML, you can post on this thread, I'm sure there are people ready to help you with your errors. Let's just keep the "development" threads clean of the "spam" / stupid questions (even if there isn't any). For real-time help, download an IRC client and join us: chat.osx86.hu #LegacyKernel And when you get your build running, please post here! Thanks!
  13. Hello, happy developers! I hiope this topic will not be just a waste of time for you, but following this topic and the release by Netkas of a 32 bits ML kernel, came to my mind a strange idea, i''m just a noob but following my message someone encouraged me to submit my idea to Slice, just in case... Here's the message i sent to him, it exposes my idea, but the answer from Slice is far better in the sense in that it opens a practical way to make this simple noob idea an eventual reality, it doesn't implies that Slice is supporting or approve my idea in any way, it just explains things better: And (with his permission) here's the Slice's answer: (/Off-topic note: about the Attansic/Atheros L1, the problem can be solved by using AttansicL1Ethernet.kext from SL and PCIRootUID=1) So what's your thoughts about this? About nvidia incompatibilities with ML, you could read also this article, interesting in the sense that we can see that the problem with nvidia is more complex than just a 32bits/64bits issue. In any case, i'm available for testing/anything, but of course i can't help for programming, because i'm only a dumb and useless musician, sorry... The goal is to find a global and sustainable solution, not just for me or for osx86 but also for regular apple users who suffer of incompatibilities between their (not so old, after all!) hardware and Mountain Lion. - - - - - - - EDIT 09-12-12: I have EXCELLENT news! I've found an actual exemple of what a wrapper could look like: it's called nspluginwrapper (see attached file), and it's used to load 32bits plugiins, like flash for exemple, in 64 bits browsers! Of course it is really focused on NPAPI, so it could not be usable "as is", but... but... this is for me a "proof of concept", and i'm sure we could find other examples in the Linux world... A good start point for possible genius developers? - - - - - - - nspluginwrapper-1.4.4.tar.gz
  14. Hi Guys, I need your help in instaliing OS X ML on my dell xps 14 ultrabook. The system config is as follows : Intel Core i7 3517U @ 1.9GHz 8GB RAM and a sata HDD - 500GB I have tried various methods and have never succeeded to get to the installer in the first place. After lot of research and reading I have patched my DSDT, removed unnecessary kexts, booted using various flags but to no avail. The various methods I have tried but not limited to are ###### from tonymac's , myhack 3.1 and various distros like iAtkos, etc. I have also tried the generic way through chameleon bootloader 2.1 and patched my DSDT. I got stuck in the boot process itself and the most common error I received was "Still waiting for root device" I have tried various boot flags like USBBusFix=Yes PciRoot=1, etc. to fix that but never succeeded. Will greatly appreciate any help. Regards Shameer

Hello Im new here and need some help , ive gotten os x 10.8 to run on my lenovo ideacentre k300 but i have some kext issues and dont really kno how to really fix things , i had voodoo hda 2.7.2 to work with the niresh 10.8 distro but it didnt let me install anything after customizing the install everything worked besides installing things upon first boot after i created my account , and i needed internet and it wouldnt install so i had to do a reinstall of niresh distro, well i reinstalled forgot to tick voodoo hda common drivers option upon install and i installed it myself with kextwizard but i think applllehda is conflicting and needs to be patched or something well i rebooted after fixing permissions and rebuilding cache it gave me kernel panic im thinking its because i didnt use the verbose flag but before the the reinstall i didnt have to it booted right in. I had read that verbose mode fixes common kernel panic problems on boot well i would like to know how i can get sound and graphics resolution to work right , now i just have the resolution tweak on and cant see my apple sign and file options or logout or anything up on top if you guys need all my specs i can edit or reply with them im not totally noob im just a little bit stuck and i do have system info app , thank you please dont be hard on me as im new and you guys know how frustrating this can be getting os x on common hardware , thanks for responses in advance!! my soundcard is ALC662
  18. Hi there, My problem is: Wifi card Atheros AR9287 (HW ID: 168c,0x2e) is working well with Wifi Lite-N but with Full-N it's can not get IP from DHCP and has self assigned IP. I have been using original kext: IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros40.kext and added my hardware id to the list <key>IONameMatch</key> <array> <string>pci168c,30</string> <string>pci168c,2a</string> <string>pci106b,0086</string> <string>pci168c,1c</string> <string>pci168c,23</string> <string>pci168c,24</string> <string>[b][color=#ff0000]pci168c,2e[/color][/b]</string> </array> I tried some kexts for AR9285 & AR9287 but no luck. Anyone solved this problem?

Help Needed: HP G60-440US DSDT patches

Hello I have installed OSX 10.8.5 on my HP G60-440US laptop. I have mostly everything working except GMA 4500m, Sleep, and Power Management. I am looking for assistance in patching my DSDT to enable Sleep (also via lid closing), Power Management, and possibly any and all suggestions about finding a kext that will supply resolutions for the GMA 4500m. I apologize in advanced if I am missing any information. Please let me know what additional information is needed. Configs: Intel Pentium T4300 (1M Cashe, 2.10 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) GMA 4500m Hoping to gain: 1. Native Power Management (via DSDT) 2. Sleep (via DSDT) 3. Lid Sleep (via DSDT) 4. Brightness slider in Display System Preference (via DSDT hopefully) 5. Working Kext for ML to support resolutions of GMA 4500M. I understand the QE/CL issue. Thank you. Update: I have been able to get LPC to launch via a DSDT patch. AICPM is also launched no kp's. When sleep is engaged I get a white screen with pointer. Also, I am unable to get any type of battery kext working. Currently have RehabMan battery kext installed but no battery reading. Just an X in battery icon. DSDT.aml.zip

MAIN ISSUE TO RESOLVE: Getting the HD4000 to work with QE/CI Without it the display is usable but kind of laggy at times and is obviously not optimal to use. Looking into the platform-id options for this card, this might make me change boot loader to get this to work. According to System Profiler my HD4000 has 64MB of VRAM (no setting showing this in BIOS). And what I read about the plaform-id thing I need to use something like these: ig-platform-id: 01660000, Stolen RAM for FB: 96MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 4, FBMem: 3 ig-platform-id: 01660001, Stolen RAM for FB: 96MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 4, FBMem: 3 +ig-platform-id: 01660002, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 1, FBMem: 1 +ig-platform-id: 01660003, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 2, FBMem: 2 ig-platform-id: 01660004, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 1, FBMem: 1 +ig-platform-id: 01660008, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 3, FBMem: 3 +ig-platform-id: 01660009, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 3, FBMem: 3 ig-platform-id: 0166000A, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 3, FBMem: 2 ig-platform-id: 0166000B, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 3, FBMem: 2 ig-platform-id: 01620005, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 3, FBMem: 2 Display: Type: GPU Bus: Built-In VRAM (Total): 64 MB of Shared System Memory Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x0166 Revision ID: 0x0009 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: Display: Resolution: 1366 x 768 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes $ lspci 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Unknown device 0166 (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Unknown device fb20 I can manually load "$ sudo kextutil -v 4 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD4000Graphics.kext" It claims to load properly and shows in kextstat output but doesn't have an effect on the system (as I expected). Installation hang at 16%

Hello together, i've got the following problem: I want to install OSX Mountain Lion to an HP nx6125 Notebook. It has an AMD Turion x64 CPU and 1GB of Ram. I am using the AMD Kernel for ML, and my CPU gets detected correctly. 1. My IDE HardDrive isn't detected, this is not that worse, cause I want to install it to an USB 3.0 Stick. 2. The installation freezes at 16%. My Bootflags are: :amd_kernel -v GraphicsEnabler=No Does anybody know, howto fix these Problems? Regards Sa_2307 P.S. I'm using an USB Stick, using the UniBea Bootloader P.S.S. My installation package of the extensions is corrupt, so installing it without extensions worked.
  23. Hello, im disperately trying to make ML run on my DAMN vaio (vpcf11m1e) specs are: cpu i5 520m 8gb ram nvidia gt330m i tried so far with chameleon but i got stuck on pci configuration error, tried a gigabillion of flags, and as SMBIOS i've set MAcbook Pro 6.2 (the macbook pro with similar specs, i5, gt330m..) any one could direct me to a working way, possibly with easy drive through? i'm new to this world.. thanks in advance and please help me i hate windows
  24. ------------------------ Update - 06.15.2016 ------------------------ A minor update of this topic - Clover (r3561) patch on the fly works fine with macOS 10.12 Sierra. ------------------------ Update - 08.18.2015 ------------------------ ok with Download-Fritz help, I’m finally able to patch my kexts with new method. it works fine with Clover r3259 + DB6 but in my case, I still have to use FakeSMC trick... I tried with ForceKextsToLoad feature but it didn’t work... not yet. ------------------------ Update - 08.17.2015 ------------------------ Hi there! almost a year later, I'm about to update this topic, not because I was too lazy to do it but just because the "patch on the fly" method has a little bit changed since Clover r3154 and which I was not able to make work. not really happy with being unable to use this method, I decided to do some tests with older versions of OS X and Clover... Bla bla bla... bla bla Bla... ... as I expected, the old method still work... and it works fine with ElCapitan DB1 I even was able to install ElCapitan with Clover r2850 and boot well on it but to have success with it, the most effective trick for now is to inject the details of my kexts (AMD5000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonX3000.kext) inside the FakeSMC Info.plist as additional IOKitPersonalities. With this trick, my kexts are always loaded. with the standard loading method, the patch doesn't work ------------------------ Update - 03.28.2014 ------------------------ just to tell that since Mavericks, we need no more those 3 kexts, only 2 of them (AMD5000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonX3000.kext) to enable QE_CI for HD6770 cards even if you use those 3 kexts, AMD6000Controller.kext will not be loaded to do this with chameleon, use GraphicsEnabler=Yes and edit 0x68B81002 -> 068BA1002 in both kexts if you want to do this with clover, use clover configurator and KernelAndKextPatches tweak: don't forget to put 'Inject Kexts' to 'Yes' if it does not work, it is because the kexts are not presents in kernel cache. The most effective trick for now is to inject the details of your kexts inside the FakeSMC Info.plist as additional IOKitPersonalities. With this trick, your kexts will be always loaded. I did it with QE_CI Exotic patch for HD48xx series cards with my old HD4830 and it works! see here for more details: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/296949-tuto-qe-ci-exotic-patch-via-clover/ p.s: here, more screens Method 3: if you're using Clover, you can make this card work with a Fake ID injection <key>Devices</key> <dict> <key>FakeID</key> <dict> <key>ATI</key> <string>0x68B81002</string> </dict> </dict> Method 2: since OS X 10.8, you no longer have to edit those kexts, just inject your ID via dsdt: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/282687-radeon-hd-6770-full-qeci-mountain-lion/?p=1902721 (credits go to RampageDev) *This method also works very well with OS X Mavericks Method 1: i can confirm it, with the last Chameleon-2.1svn-r2054.pkg, it work well on 10.8.2 Build 12C43 !!! No more need to flashing HD 6770 into HD 5770 to have QE/CI !!! So just add your ID (0x68BA1002) into ATI5000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext <key>AMDJuniperGraphicsAccelerator</key> <dict> * * * <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x68BA1002 0x68B81002 0x68B01002 0x68B11002 0x68A01002 0x68A11002</string> * the story started with this original topic
  25. ***Use EXTREME CAUTION when using either my Mountain Lion (10.8.x) or Lion (10.7.x) org.chameleon.Boot.plist without checking it first. It is setup to use kernel/boot caches which was disabled by default from Lion onward and will cause BOOT FAILURE if your E/E kexts aren't moved into S/L/E before the mkext rebuild. If your install isn't setup to use kernel/boot caches or you have no intention of using them, simply remove these lines from the plist and you'll be fine. The drawback from not using the caches is that your booting time will take longer: <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> You've been warned.*** By using the advise or files from this thread, you assume full responsibility for your actions and their results. I cannot be held responsible for any potential damage to your system or loss of data. Just sayin' ;-p The issues with this system using either Mountain Lion (10.8.x), Lion (10.7.x), or Snow Leopard (10.6.x) have been resolved with the help from people in this thread and through many, many hours/days of trial and error on my part. To anyone with this system setup, I have provided zip archive(s) with all the files that I have either previously used or currently use on my Mac partition(s). They have been tested working on either 10.8-10.8.2, 10.7.3-4 or 10.6.8 and are all ready to use, just unzip them, apply them where they should be, repair permissions and rebuild mkext as needed and reboot. The only issue I that couldn't be fixed is the random restart BIOS hang where the Dell splash boot-up screen will "hang" or "freeze" once the loading bar reaches full. CTRL+ALT_DEL doesn't fix this, the only way to resolve it is to press the power button to shut the tower off and then on again. This only seems to happen when rebooting from a Mac install. I can confirm that the BIOS hang doesn't happen after a reboot from a Tiger install. I might look further into this later. Lastly, My system is running BIOS rev A05 during all tests. So I can't confirm the dsdt provided working on anything but that BIOS rev. It may also not function properly if used on a different size chassis of the 760, such as the full size model or ultra slim form factor model. Thanks for everyone's help! Download the zip archive(s) here: Full (contains everything for all OSs) = Opti760_3Kitties.zip Mountain Lion (10.8-10.8.2) = Opti760-MountainLion.zip Lion (10.7.3-4) = Opti760-Lion.zip Snow Leopard (10.6.8) = Opti760-SnowLeopard.zip Last updated: 11/26/12 ORIGINAL POST: Soooooo basically, I suck at this. I'm horribly unconfident in every aspect of DSDT creation/modification. I'm ashamed to admit but in all the years i've been tweaking and playing around with OSX86 I have NEVER been able to really figure out how to deal with using/editing DSDT files. My experience lies only with "dirty" hacks, through modification of current system files, or adding in new ones. I have looked up and tried out more tuts than I care to count, each had their own specific way of going about it and NONE of them were very helpful. They all seemed to only cater to one specific motherboard type while leaving everyone else with a different board in the complete dark. Being lost to begin with, the last thing I planned to do was make guesses and risk completely f***ing up my hardware in the process. So yeah, I need help. I would probably benefit most from learning from the work of others on MY own DSDT, not someone else's. So, I will provide two one DSDT file below, extracted from my system, completely unaltered. dsdt-Optiplex760-Untouched.zip The second will be one that I tried to edit (and probably failed miserably), this should be used as examination from someone more skilled at DSDT patching to assess if I did it right or was completely wrong about it. I only want a few patches applied because most everything on my system is working great! At least, according to my testing anyway. I was planning on applying the following patches but need help: -RTC reset fix for CMOS. -GeForce device/NVCAP injection (see below for code, originally referenced here) -SpeedStep enabling (never attempted, I think it might be dangerous) -Audio fix for ADI 198x (if exists, although i'm content with using current VoodooHDA solution) -Sleep/Hibernate fix (should one exist, this one is VERY low priority) -Network/Ethernet fix (also low priority, i'm currently using AppleIntelE1000e as a fix) EVGA GeForce 6200 512MB PCI NVCAP: 0400000000000300040000000000000700000000 **This code was extracted using Everest Win7x64, then using NVCAP Maker v1.4. That's really it. Most everything else important seems to function as expected. If someone with long time experience in creating/editting DSDT files reads this, I hope you'll considering helping me. I'm eager to learn this but not so eager to destroy hardware through constant trial & error, which is all I have going for me right now. So if anyone can and is willing to help, please try and do so. I will really appreciate it! If more info is needed i'll do my best to get it to you ASAP. Thanks for the read. UPDATE: So, I decided to try to test out my edited DSDT linked above to see if it made any difference. Low and behold it appears I actually might have fixed a couple things. After testing it out and rebooting the first thing i noticed was that my RTC fix worked! My BIOS no longer resets after a reboot! I previously needed ElliottForceLegacyRTC to fix that. Then, I tried out my tiny graphic fix (to try to make sure my PCI was correctly read as 0. That seems to have worked too. Before the edits, I needed to use NVEnabler to get my 6200 to give me the black screen before the login screen, now it does it by simply adding the GraphicsEnabler flag. Lastly, I did a rough fix to my PIC & TMR and planned to edit my HPET which never was done because I didn't know what I was doing and didn't wanna risk frying my CPU. Still, I edited both PIC & TMR and tried to see if I could get my system booted without the need for the NullCPUPowerManagement kext and it actually worked too! Although, to be fair, I am pretty sure I didn't need to edit anything to get my CPU to work without NullCPUPM before. I just had it in my E/E folder to be safe. Either way, i'm completely baffled by the fact that my half-assed attempt at a DSDT edit ended in slight success, especially since it gave me a s***-ton of errors while building. I still have a few fixes I REALLY need help with though. I don't have an audio fix, a sleep fix, a speedstep fix, an ethernet fix, or a GeForce injection. So please, if anyone has anything that might be able to help me, i'm all ears! UPDATE#2: Tried adding in the Nvidia NVCAP injection linked above without success. Back to square one since QE/CI + Full resolution is STILL the only important thing missing from my system. I also keep getting a crapload of errors while rebuilding my DSDT for testing, which I can only imagine might lead to unforeseen problems later on potentially. UPDATE#3: Installed SnowLeo on a USB HDD to test with to see if the 6200 would even work on that. Long story short, no it doesn't. That means I would have to go back as far as Leo just to get this stupid card to have full QE/CI. So I decided an upgrade was in order, after much discussion with Gringo, another forum member who was very helpful in the decision process, I have purchased a 9500 GT that should arrive within a few days. Hopefully my luck with QE/CI will change once I give the new card a try. Nothing could be worse than the slow ass, outdated, PCI-based 6200 I have been testing with. Will keep the thread posted on progress.
