Can someone help me?

I booted up Chameleon on my USB, and I'm at the bootloader screen, but it's not detecting my USB keyboard and mouse and I can't select an OS to boot, it doesn't auto-boot either, I've tried added Timeout but that didn't help..

I have a Wireless keyboard and mouse as well, but to use that I'd need that Voodoo thing, but I have no clue how to install that.. :(

enable legacy usb support or something like that in your bios. this will emulate your usb devices as ps/2 device so you can move in the bootloader and so on.

however this may make your system freeze, so first of all you shoudl edit the org.chameleon.boot.plist and enable legacy usb support first in that. then set bios and the try to boot the installer.

have luck

Hi,

I've just bought an GainWard GTX 580 3072MB Phantom graphics card, installed on a Maximus Formula motherboard. Fresh install of IAtkos L2.

My problem is that I keep getting this error upon boot (with GraphicsEnabler=Yes):

bad display config block signature (0xaa5555aa)

ERROR: nVidia ROM Patching Failed!

I have tested to install a fresh Lion, with several different GTX 5xx-kexts with GraphicsEnabler. Same error.

I have tested to install a fresh Lion, with several different GTX 5xx-kexts without GraphicsEnabler, and added ATY_init or NVenabler (as some have reported success with them). But without luck. At best it loads until just before the login screen, but then the screen turns black.

My graphics card device id is: 10DE-10810, which the various GTX 5xx-kexts already have implemented. So without much knowing, I think the problems is in Chameleon.

Can anyone please help me out?

Thank you all devs

It seems, when I hide the "boot" file on the root, graphics reacts a little slower. When I move mouse over the Dock icons, graphics react little bit slower. Has anyone else noticed this or I become delusional? Is this possible? Thanks !

chflags hidden /boot

I unhid mine, ran Geekbench once and then hid it again and ran Geekbench the second time. Almost the same exact score. Maybe something else is going on?

Thanks big poppa 206 ! It's not so obvious, but i have a feeling that is a slightly higher latency in the graphical response. Anyway, all other, the hack works perfectly! Thanks again :)

Added new Installer PKG in the firs post rev.1755

Important note: From Chameleon 2.1svn revision 1738 the bootloader include the OS detection (thx cparm),

so... update yours theme to "smell" the new feature.

As before the binaries include a lot of new Extra card.

If your card (Nvidia or ATI) now is correctly listed pls report... We wait for add it to main trunk code.

Ati --> Source code here

Nvidia --> Source code here

Enjoy

I tried this version and screen goes black a second before the desktop loads...can't seen anything. Tried verbose mode, same thing. Installed a slightly older version of Chameleon AND reinstalled the older modules and things are back to normal.

VERIFIED! Installed JUST the boot files for 1764 and the computer boots normally. There is a problem with one of those libraries though!

ko.lproj.zip

Updated Localizable.strings in ko.lproj to sync with updated Resources_1764 :)

THX I make the change in my local repository...

I commit it soon.(Just wait for more language update...)

Fabio

last commit is bad for me

tried on MCP79 motherboard (like the apple one)

ATTENTION

after installing the package, inspecting the log.file ( "no Problems")

chameleon is asking at reboot for a "org.chameleon.boot.plist" in \Extra,

the old com.aplle.boot.plist is depreciated.

WHICH WAS NOT WRITTEN IN MY INSTALL.

Hi westwaerts - Thanks for your report.

Are you saying you don't have com.apple.Boot.plist in your /Extra folder, yet Chameleon is posting the message about it being depreciated?

Can you give more details please and post the install log and anything else that might be useful?

Catalan translation:

Thx Ed_Saxman

I commit it.

Need a full translation the Localizable.string file for Catalan.... you post it in Original English "format"

PS update the Resource file in the first page Resources_1817.zip

Which mods has your trunk in respect to "regular" one?

- Added id into nvidia.c for GeForce GT 520MX : http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/issues/217/
- Added support for using UUIDs with ext2 filesystems (credits to bitz): http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/issues/208/
- Added Guerrero's patch on gui.c: http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/issues/178/
- Added scorpius's patch (to get an unstretched boot screen for nVidia cards on DVI) in boot0.s,
 disabled by default: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,2158.0.html
- Added exFAT volume label support (FAT64) support (credit to dmazar):
 http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,2095.0.html
- Added disableIRQs() http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=255866&view=findpost&p=1677779
Port of original patch by: CPARM (who basically did this in boot.c) Thanks!
The ACPI specification dictates that the 8259 (PC-AT compatible) vectors
must be disabled (that is, masked) when enabling the ACPI APIC operation
but this isn't done (apparently) on all mobo's and thus we do that here.

The rest is the same as main trunk code.

Is this nvidia fix in boot0 and boot0md? I use boot0md to boot Lion from the Windows boot menu. Would replacing the boot0md file be enough to activate the fix or do I have to upgrade the chameleon installation with your trunk to get the fix working? I'm tied up with work at the minute so I can't test for myself just now.

I had a chance to try this out. Replaced boot0md and upgraded my Chameleon install, but still getting a stretched bootscreen.

You say it's disabled by default. How do I activate it?

Heyas folks. So I updated to r1814 from r1806 (via Chameleon Wizard). Usually I have no issues with the updates, however I no longer can use GraphicsEnabler=y, I have to set the frame buffer manually to Duckweed, as r1814 automatically selects Bulrushes, which is wrong. Bulrushes nets me a grey screen and restart, whether I choose it, or Chameleon does. My card is a Sapphire Radeon HD6870 0x6738, 174B174B. http://www.insanelym...dpost&p=1777399 shows that Bulrushes is selected by Chameleon???? I have installed, besides myself, 2 other Sapphire 6870s with different BIOS revisions in Hackintoshes (for friends, I am not that rich), both 6738 174B, and all have used Duckweed; My bro just picked up the Dirt3 edition tonight (not sure of BIOS version), dirt cheap, and his older Chameleon (the same I used, r1806) loads Duckweed correctly. Can we revert this back to Duckweed please so I can use DVD player, chess, and whatnot again? :P

Update: Using GraphicsEnabler=y and AtiConfig=Duckweed works like a charm. My card is listed correctly as Sapphire Radeon HD6870. I don't know what changed, but before using the two boot flags together would always result in instant reboot.

Note: several people have PM'd me here and over at Tonymac about Bulrushes incorrectly being loaded for their HD6870s. This problem isn't mine alone. Can we fix this?!?!

We go OFF-TOPIC here...

Yes is for boot0

Here a version (binares) compiled with the Unstretch function active i386 ONLY NVIDIA CARDS

This is the direct link to the author's patch [PATCH] Unstretch the Chameleon Boot Screen
