  1. For the first time ever, for any OS, I am seriously considering revering back to an earlier version. El Capitan has been nothing but a huge headache for AMD users. Here is my predicament (specs are in my sig). - I have 2x HD7950 (in CFX) with 4 displays connected; Triple monitor setup for the desktop on the first card (I 'used' Eyefinity in Windows) via DVI and 2x miniDP and the second GPU is DVI out to my HDTV that is used exclusively for Kodi. - In Yosemite I had ZERO issues booting with Enoch from the EFI partition, no garbled graphics before the desktop, sleep/wake worked flawlessly, and most important of all, I did not have to use the HD4000 IGFX for any reason. - In El Capitan I in no way can boot WITHOUT enabling the IGFX AND a display connected, AND having it default boot device. - If I don't I get black screens - If I boot with it enabled but not default I only get one miniDP working and no IGPU despite boot flags (see below) - In El Capitan using ONLY GraphicsEnabler=y nets me full QI/QE and all GPUs are correctly identified and accelerated however I get no DVI out at all on the AMDs, but works for the HD4000. - I have to manually add AtiConfig=Hamachi (default is Futomaki) to enable DVI, AtiPorts=X does nothing! - In El Capitan I do get sleep! But it wakes after 3 seconds to all displays and USB working, and then the system freezes about 5 seconds later causing me to do a hard restart. - In El Capitan I get constant random graphics freezes when either watching videos in a window (player or browser) AND playing games windowed (like OpenEmu, Game of Thrones). Even system monitors like iStat and HWMonitor freeze as well as the system clock. - To remedy the freeze all I need to do is click to the desktop as the mouse still works. - Playing games and movies in 'True' fullscreen (i.e. Diablo III, Kodi) causes no issues, where as 'Windowed' fullscreen still causes random freezes. Apple really dropped the ball on El Capitan. Maybe Tim Cook should stop worrying about SJW and 'diversity' issues and concentrate on their software flaws. Even real Mac users are experiencing USB and graphics issues. Sigh......
  2. Me too, same console message as you. The only issues I had in 10.11.1 was the screens not waking from sleep. Now with 10.11.2 I go from 91fps in Cinebench to 70fps, graphics are choppy, and like you, I get screen freezing which occurs when I am watching YouTube videos in Safari or if I play games that are windowed. The fix is to simply click to the desktop and everything starts up. Most frustrating.
  3. Here is a tip for everyone with DP and DVI issues. I just upgraded to a 3 monitor Eyefinity setup. My monitors are connected to my HIS Radeon HD7950 via 2x active MiniDP to DVI and 1x DVI (also on my 2nd HD7950 I have DVI out to my HDTV). I won't go over my problems because they mirror all of you folk's experiences (and headaches). It has nothing to do with what frame buffer is used. SOLUTION! Enable IGPU in the bios, regardless if you will be using it or not. Problem solved! I can have all ports on both my HD7950 with an active monitor with ZERO issues. The moment I disable IGPU all hell breaks loose (again). For users of Clover you will have no issues whatsoever. For users of Chameleon/Chimera you will need to include the IGPU boot flag and set boot display to IGPU from PEG. If you are not using the IGPU this will be somewhat cumbersome because you will essentially be doing a 'dark boot', and if you have dual boot very annoying (remove the timer and guess when the boot loader is at the drive select screen), but it works. Hope this helps.
  4. Greetings all. This problem persists even on real Macs. The root of the problem and the fix is easy. It seems if you are using PCI GFX as your main display in conjunction with internal graphics, you will get a new desktop space for EVERY monitor you have plugged in after a restart. Meaning if you have 3 displays, 2 extra will appear every restart. To solve this simply move the MenuBar in Monitor Arrangement to IGPU and no more multiple Desktop spaces. The downside is you have your IGPU as your main and not your significantly more powerful PCI GFX.

    Weird iPad connection issue

Did you try another sync cable? Did you try another computer (or device that has USB power)? My iPod did exactly just that, and I discovered that the cable was the issue, despite not showing any signs of wear/damage.

Can't boot into my OSx86 partition

From my experience, once you install Windows (on the same drive, separate partition) as OS X there isn't much you can do. Gringo is correct in saying that Windows is corrupting the boot loader. In 8 years, from XP to 8.1 I have yet to find a solution. My suggestion is to back-up the OS X partition and start over. When you install Windows on a separate hard drive ALL other drives containing other OSs must be disconnected (optical drive and drives used for storage are ok) or Windows won't install. Often the installer will give a warning prompt shortly after the process starts and exits. If it does there is a good chance that the HDs containing other OSs will get corrupt. The same goes for installing on the same HD but different partitions. Here is what I have always done. I gave up on trying to fix things years ago and just went with a fool proof method. 1) Format the HD into 2 partitions; 1 HFS+ the other Fat32 (or NTSF) 2) Install Windows FIRST on the 2nd partition 3) Install OS X on partition 1 4) Install Chameleon/Clover/Chimera You can try to install Clover on the EFI partition (of the hard drive or from USB) and boot from there. Of course you need an UEFI motherboard for this to work. On that note, if you have the know how you can try reformatting the EFI partition, as well as setting the OS X partition as active. There are many guides here with the info you need.

    UseAtiRom Chameleon EFI help!

I recently installed Chameleon onto my HD's EFI partition and it works great except for I can not get UseAtiRom=y to work; no matter what I try it keeps loading from the legacy space. 1002_679a.rom (both extracted by myself as well as I tried d/l from TechPowerUp) resides in the Extras folder on the EFI partition. Using UseAtiRom=y with GraphicsEnabler=y halts the boot as usual, AtiConfig=Aji/Futomaki does nothing. What am I missing?

Nothing has changed from ML. Myself, I can not get SS/Turbo to work unless I sleep the System once; try that and see if speedster kicks in. Make sure you have an SSDT (and DropSSDT=y in boot.plist) if you use Chameleon, or Generate PStates/CStates if you use Clover. No guarantees, but that worked for myself.
  9. All is well here: GA-Z77X-UD5H, Radeon 7950HD (Crossfire). Patched AppleHDA, FakeSMC, and Intel/Atheros and my System is running smooth. No pop-ups, no errors (bdmesg or console). The only issue I have encountered thus far is having to sleep the System once to enable SS/Turbo to work, just like all of the DP versions.

    Computer sleeps really slow

Same here. ML sleep was instant and shutdown/reset was 30-60 seconds. Now the reverse happens.

    GPU voltages

Although I don't have my dual GTX 660 Ti anymore (sidegraded to dual HIS 7950HD), from what I remember, sleeping the system and waking fixed the problem. It also fixes SS/Turbo; I would only get min/max CPU speeds with no turbo.

    Chameleon 2.4 svn

Thanks for your reply! Could you please point me in the right direction in regards to an HDEFLayoutID list? Having trouble finding info regarding ALC898 and what ID I should use.

    Chameleon 2.4 svn

How does one make use of the now embedded HDAEnabler? Is there a new boot flag?
  14. Thanks for the advice. Will give it a go.
