Understood - it doesn't solve my dream about 100% Vanilla Kernel on Atom, but thank You for Your knowledge...

BTW - Can anyone patch my DSDT (extracted with EVEREST under Windows XP) if I send it as an attachement here...? I don't know how to make it work but (from what i read) DSDT is the best method for 100% working Hackintosh...

Yes, I feel that too. I want to compare the patched ones for IONITX with the original and want to get knowledge why they are patched for this or that. Additionally I got some original DSDT (MacBooks, MacMini) and want to compare this DSDT with the patched IONITX DSDT.

But with Atom you need a patched kernel. I don't have problems to patch and compile a Linux kernel (I use Linux for 10 years), so it should be no problem to get into OS X kernel. But DSDT is my main priority for now.

Hello

This is my first post here, i have spend many hours reading and trying out on various hackintoshes.

None of them where with great success, some would boot some not.

Have found this posting i so i went out and ordered a IONITX F-E as i thought it would be easy to install OSX 10.6. as i assumed it would be fairly simple...

I have installed 10.6.3 server on a separate (usb) drive, updated it to 10.6.5 with my macbookpro.

Installed Chameleon RC5

Installed various combinations from postings

The combination on the first post

the combination in post #238

always changed the kernel that i downloaded from this forum for 10.6.5 (dont know if it matters that it isnt specific for the Server version)

Then i install the drive with sata in the ionitx F-E.

Never it has booted completely

the picture below is where it stops with the configuration as in post 238.

Have been spending maybe 20hours without succes (iam no programmer, just like the osx on a mini HTPC)

Can somebody help me on the way?

Succes!

Complete boot with 10.6.5 server edition.

deleted the SleepEnabler.kext then got an KP for the facesmc , changed it with the one from the first post, and voila.

Going to test now what works, sound etc..

Thank you Maxavelli!

That's great news!

I've been keeping my eye on this thread for a while now and with the help of polarvito and eugene I've managed to fashion a kext pack that works for my zotact ion 330 ITX A-U.

Configuration :

- OSX 10.6.4 (upgrading to to 10.6.5 shortly)

- 2GB Ram

- Overclocked 2GHz

- Chameleon 2 RC5 and prefs

- BIOS version & settings identical to Polarvito's bios screenshots except my fsb is 667MHz not 533MHz.

- Kext pack used from Polarvito's post on page 12

- DSDT of Polarvito but I added the processor P and C States back

- Sleep/Shutdown works Restart results in KP upon boot AppleSMC is the cause I think ???

- AppleHDA works once running the perl replace command above (thanks to einKeks for posting it!)

- Graphics Acceleration

- LCD TV resolution 1360x768@60Hz via VGA cable

- EyeTV DDT full HD TV tuner works great

- XBMC Dharma Beta 1 (upgrading to RC1 shortly) Plays 720p and 1080p flawlessly :) (Disable autoupdates to get rid of choppyness during movie playback when it updates).

I installed PS3 mediaserver to see if the zotac could transcode UPnp/DLNA but it's just no fast enough for my likings. It is very bad for transcoding 720p, 1080p is a no-no and SD content takes a while to transcode/buffer before it starts to stream... :S I guess I'm asking too much of the atom processor.

Anyone else have a great DLNA solution running from the zotac yet?

Help!!

Trying to make my 2nd hackintosh to replace my htpc mini, with zotac ion itx f-e. First hack with a gigabyte board was a piece of cake, thought I'd go for more of a challenge this time. Maybe I bit off more than I can chew.

Used 10.6.4 install method and files from post #238 and everything seems to boot fine, no visible errors in -v mode. However, instead of booting into the OS it goes to a black screen. Just black, no cursor, nothing.

Any ideas?

Wow! thank you.

I've run a hackintosh on my gigabyte EP35-DS3R for a few years now, but was always forced to use Ubuntu on my Zotac. But Eugene's work coupled with Michael Glass' instructions made it work on the second try.

There's a few bugs to work out, but I should be able to handle them, and if not, then I'll post for help! :)

Yeah, the hackintosh is a little slow, but honestly, I'm just using it for a file and web server. So far so good.

Audio works,

Network works,

Time Machine works,

Display works (I haven't tested movies yet),

Bonjour works,

no UUID issues

This is all on a Zotac Ion D-E with 2 GB RAM (512MB allocated to video).

Thanks everyone for their experiences and making me a happy guy! Cheers!

I have got a Funtwist Fiono 330 nettop which is also a Nvidia ION chipset machine and successfully install Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on it and everything seems working fine. The guide is very helpful! I like this ION "Mac Mini" & HTPC very much! Thanks a lot to shoarthing, eugene k2'', teateam, etc....... Great job!

Hi,

I have also a Fiono 330. I didn't succeed to get video. But I could connected on it remotely with the sharing function.

May you give me you dsdt.aml file ?

Thanks in advance.

i have the same bug as you as got, but, i don't find sleepenabler on /system/library/extenctions

i'm rookie.. what did you do to delet it?

oh, maybe i don't have sleepenabler kext.. I'm tryng to get a new installation with 10.6.5, kernel mod, chameleon 2.0 rc4 and files bootV2 for first post.. i have zotac ion F-E with 4gb ram.. but, it freezes when booting.. Don't know why because all works in 10.6.4

Try to find SleepEnabler.kext in /Extra/Extensions. It may be hidden. If so - use Show-Hide Files.app or an Automator script. If there is not SE.kext (which is impossible if Your KP displays a SE problem) then use pmVersion=0 (disables SleepEnabler) as an Chameleon parameter (F8 during boot). You can paste it in com.apple.boot.plist in "Kernel flags" section.

P.S. The Polvorito method works 100% for me now - Audio, Ethernet, Sleep, QE, USB and 1080p works well for me! Thank You, Polvorito!

oh.. i'm using ionitx boot V2 from first post, so, i don't have se.kext, but my sistem freezes after ntfs checks in -v mode, after LAN check

you can see it in this photos

it can be fakesmc error? i suppouse that's not a kp, i patched it with 10.6.5 atom kernel

Have a look on this post :

Very simple to do.

: -)

For my part , I have one question:

Before , my computer was on ubuntu 8.06 and xbmc can play all videos (1080P, 720, Divx , DVD..) without any problem.

Now, with Snow Leopard Server, xbmc have so many slowdowns , HD videos can not be seeing on this plateform.

Somebody have try to see HD movies with Xmbc ?

Moreover , I don't know if the graphic acceleration is enable or not :

In the System Profiler I can see these informations about my graphic card:

NVIDIA ION 9400M:

		  Chipset Model:	NVIDIA ION 9400M
		Type:	GPU
		Bus:	PCI
		Slot:	Internal
		VRAM (Total):	512 MB
		Vendor:	NVIDIA (0x10de)
		Device ID:	0x087d
		Revision ID:	0x00b1
		ROM Revision:	xx.xx.xx - internal
		Displays:
	  L226W :
		Resolution:	1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz
		Pixel Depth:	32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
		Main Display:	Yes
		Mirror:	Off
		Online:	Yes
		Rotation:	Supported
	  Display Connector:
		Status:	No Display Connected

I'm on SL Server 10.6.2 with chameleon RC3. And mach_kernel for 10.6.2 (Memory 2GB )

Do you think 10.6.5 is better for graphics acceleration ?

I wrote about it already - hardware acceleration for 9400M/ION in OS X starts in 10.6.4. Update and enjoy :-)!

Thk for your answer.

I wrote this message before to read all posts in this thread. I'm sorry ...

Anyway , I'm again on 10.6.2, when I try to upgrade , I have always a KP....

Finaly Upgrade is done. (10.6.2 to 10.6.4)

Yes !

Xbmc works like a charm !

Only one thing , I plug HDMI cable on my TV , and I have no sound over HMDI , the last bug.

Do you have any idea how I can solve this issue ?

I precise that I try the sduo -perl ..... presents in this thread and no result.

Thk for your help.

Is anyone here on 10.6.5? I've had issues with any audio and sleep on 10.6.5 with my IONITX-F-E from Zotac. When I attempt to sleep or shutdown, display shuts off but the fans and power button light are still on.

I'm using FakeSMC, SleepEnabler 10.6.5, NullCPUPowerManagement, and OpenHaltRestart for kexts. I've also modified my DSDT to deal with everything except for the MUTEX warnings.

I don't have any output devices that show up in the Sound prefpane, even after the perl substitution script and using LegacyALC662 kext.

I've seen some other people experience similar issues with the IONITX-F-E and I'm wondering if they ever resolved them.

Thanks!

Can someone with a fully functional install (4GB RAM) with all the kexts and stuff in order just please clone their drive and make a torrent?

I know i´m fresh when it comes to OSX86 but i would be grateful if someone could help me out :D

OK, I got it all to work just fine. This includes the following

High-level specs:

Zotac IONITX-F-E, with 4GB 800 MHz RAM, SATA HD, SATA DVD Burner, HDMI Video, Optical Audio Out to a Receiver, 802.11N and Gigabit Ethernet, Snow Leopard 10.6.5

Working

* Sleep (Suspend to RAM and Safe Sleep)

* Wake from sleep with MCE Remote and eHome receiver

* Reboot

* Shutdown

* Audio (Optical)

* Hardware Acceleration

* Time Machine

* USB2 (EHCI, Hi-Speed, etc.)

* Power button for suspend and resume

Not Working

* HDMI Audio (I'm thinking of trying to change my system to macmini4,1 and poking around with getting my video card HDMI recognized with the existing Nvidia drivers in 10.6.5

* Sleep on idle

* I know this may be fixed by setting the sleep mode to Hibernate only, but I don't want to deal with the longer resume

* This may also be due to my use of a DVD Rom drive, as I've experienced this issue with certain SATA dvd burners

I'm using almost everything from "Update 2", almost no special bios settings, and the teateam 10.6.5 kernel. Feel free to post on this thread if you have any specific questions.

Thanks for the resources!

10.6.6 Update installed. Before makin' it i made backup of mach_kernel as "1065_kernel" and made a change in com.apple.boot.plist in "Kernel" section (/Extra directory). KP after reboot, after second boot works perfect - Mac App Store runs flawlessly! Does anyone know that 10.6.6 provides new kernel and does makin' a backup of 10.6.5 kernel for boot with it is really necessary...?

I think the kernel doesn't change with every OSX update

10.6.6 is a minor change
