I don't know, I added my system specs in my signature

yes, you can use vanilla. Don't select any kernel on install. You are covered on sound. I don't know about the wifi. Video is fine.

Sounds like you don't need to select many options during the install. I don't know about the SCSI disk though.

It's the default boot of xXx 10.5.6. I can't enable AHCI in BIOS, because I have the fujitsu BIOS.

Can you give me your MSN adress to avoid off the subject?

I'd say it's your SCSI. You would have to find kexts for it and then insert them into the distro. Linux exts may work. I don't know how to do this though.

I have installed this and install goes ok. During the install process if I check the system profiler it shows the correct card Nvidia 8800 gt with 512 but after install it shows a Nvidia 32 meg card don’t recall exact as I am trying to reinstall.

When I install I have formatted the drive to Mac extended journaled MBR. When I exit the disk utility and select the Mac disk to install to the options button is grayed out. I am not sure if there is some option that might help, but I cannot find out.

What do I need to different to get to the options or is there something else I should do to get the right video card installed?

MY system specs

Intel xbx2

2.4 ghz dual core

8 megs ram

Nvidia 8800 gt 512 meg

Now I'm getting gray screen with mouse pointer on boot. I can normaly move mouse but nothing ever happens. Booting with -v doesnt stop with any error, it just goes to gray screen with mouse pointer.

I can normaly boot to safe mode, I even transfered all my data from time machine backup from previous osx install. Install even goes to sleep and wakes up normaly!

just search over net to find the appropriate driver for your ati vga...

I installed the driver and now i have a new problem :P

My boot just stops with these lines:

disk5s0: I/O error

Interface Namer: timed out waiting for IOKit to quiesce

I'm suprised with disk5s0 error because i even dont have 5 disk's in my machine, in disk utility my HDD's are numerated disk1, 2, 3 and 4!

And I dont know anything about this IOKit error.

Can someone help please?

P.S. These lines are there also when I boot into safe mode, but after few minutes I get to the login screen.

Yes, it s my first idea but I didn't find any tutorial to do this. If someone know the tips, I'm very interrested ;-)

I tried this on a Asus P6T Deluxe, core i7 920, Geforce 295 gtx

And it won't even boot, just resets immediately. I tried disabling hyperthreading and only using one core but it didn't help.

"-v -f cpus=1" didn't work either, nor did I have time to read the output as it resets that fast.

I realised that I needed to use the mach_970 flag so I tried that...

I setup a hdd and partitioned/formatted it, choose the last voodoo kernel, intel ahci and sata, I choose nvidia gt200 series driver and enabler "I tried all 3" But the installation always fails halfway through with a framebuffer error.

Thanks for the great release, everything is working fast and without any problems, except the audio. My motherboard is Gigabyte EP45-DS3LR, sound is integrated ALC888. I've tried with all audio drivers in this release, but still nothing. Please help, thanks in advance

Great Release!!! Worked flawlessly with my Intel DQ45MP Motherboard. The only thing is that it does not support NVIDIA 9800 GT so i used the OSX86 Tool to add EFI GFX string and used the 9800 GTX in the selection of videocards.. It works very good and stable..

I would try voodoohda. It can be found with google.

Hey,

I can install V7 fine, When it gets past the cham boot loader i see the apple logo and the spinning circle for around 2 seconds and then the system re-boots.

System:

Asus P5W DH Deluxe

Intel E8500 @ 4.2GHZ - Same happens at stock settings.

Geil 800MHZ 8GB DDR2

Nvidia GTX 260

Western Digital Raptor 70GB

Cheers,

Jay

iATKOS v7 10.5.7 => Dell Latitude D830:

nvidia Quadro 140M video

DELL wireless card

intel core 2 duo @ 1.82GHZ

2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM

easy success!

installed with little to no hassles and pretty much everything working. on install selected the following (although i'm not sure which may or may not have contributed to it working)

x86 patches => ACPI => x96 ACPI (see reason below at PS2 entry)

Drivers => VGA => nvidia => enablers => natit (gave me full native rez of 1280 x 800 no problems)

Drivers => ps2 => ApplePS2

(selected this and teh ACPI above due to problems i had on a 10.5.6 upgrade of kalyway where my touchpad and keyboard got knocked out)

Drivers => SATA => AHCI ( seclected this since I had it set in the BIOS )

Drivers => Laptop Battery support (gave me battery life in % and time!)

Drivers => NTFS Support (just incase i need to read a windows drive)

  • after I used the sound driver install section from the following post : (works great)

  • i didn't bother with the PCMCIA driver, no need, although if i did I would try the install described on that same post.

  • no, SLEEP still doesn't work right for me but i'm not that concerned over it.

  • had a kernel panic on first reboot after install, but another reboot seemed to fix that and haven't seen it again.

  • do seem to have a time machine issue atm........ "Time Machine could not be configured. the built-in network interface could not be found."

Time machine update:

there are a number of 'fixes' to this out there, i ended up using the one at this link (it was the only one that worked):

as root you:

mv /Library/Preferences/Systemconfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist.old

original blog i pulled this from here

however, after rebooting my network settings were all borked, don't panic, just go to the network configuration and reconfigure your wireless. everything came up fine!

I am having trouble just burning the iso file. What program are you guys using and are there some special instructions? I have tried three different applications and so far every one of them have failed at the very end closing the DVD. It still reads but it fails to verify when I am trying to install osx and reboots the pc. I verified the md5 for both the zip and iso (both correct).

So I just finished installing this and so far I'm very pleased. I finally have an up to date version of OSX. It seems much snappier than Leo4All V3 was, load times are much faster. The install was a breeze, I selected Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel, Chameleon V1, NVInject and the JMicron IDE drivers. To my surprise iATKOS loaded fine! Network, graphics are all working fantastically.

However I have one issue: I chose VoodooHDA driver for my ALC888. While I see the volume icon, and I can go into Sound Preferences and choose SPDIF output, I hear nothing. I use my Logitech Z680 speakers with Digital Input that works fine under Windows 7 so I know its not the hardware or the cable itself. But no matter what I do I get no sound in OSX. In output devices I have 3 entries: Unknown, SPDIF and Headphones. Same for Input. If I switch from digital to Analog cables, then the sound works perfectly. So basically I'm not getting anything through SPDIF output. Any ideas?

Uphuck & Others,

I'm currently trying to track down the problem experienced by myself and others where editing or creating smart playlists in iTunes causes it to crash (see this thread here)

The one thing that we all have in common, that I know of, is iAtkos based systems. If this is indeed a bug (and I'm not claiming that it is), can anyone test smart playlist creating/editing in iTunes to see wether or not it's a problem in iAtkos v7?

I would download and test myself, but aside from this minor issue my install is running perfectly fine, and I really don't want to reinstall before SL's release unless I have to.

Thanks in advance.

Dell XPS M1530

Left all defaults ticked and added Voodoo Kernel 9.7.0, OHR, Remove TyMCE, NVEnabler for my Nvidia 8600M, Speedstep, Voodoo PS/2 Driver with trackpad support, Laptop Battery, Broadcom BCM43xx for wireless and my ethernet Marvel worked out of the box wow!!.

Problems, Won't shutdown and thought the OHR<< Pystar driver would do the trick. Cannot get Sleep to work? DO I need Voodoo Power or something to get sleep to work?
