Arhturson, ive got the same problem as you and as many other guys, seems to be linked to the CRT implementation. I hope this should be fixed in Alpha003 that supports monitor.cfg = EDID-OUT file

worked fine for me, booting on a DOS A:

seems to have found my monitor = 170MB

my file EDID-OUT contains :"ˇˇˇˇˇˇL-w671LM)

"¢Í2úZMå& NWøÔÄÅèaYEY1Y0*òQ*@0pR˝8UQ

¸S/M 170MP

ˇH4VNA00947

ª"

You need to use "parse-edid edid-out" to turn that gibberish into a readable profile...

I guess Omni updates on the weekends. It's no coincidence that 001 Alpha got released on a Saturday, 002 on a Sunday, and now 003's announcement was made on a Friday. If the pattern follows, the driver might be released today, and then he might make something tomorrow based on feedback.

I'm almost happy to see him say "Let's hope I didn't break CRT support in the mean time." I'm sure that 98% of the people here, who are LCD users, are a little relieved too. ;)

From what I've heard the only one that works 100% is a GMA950/GMA900 from Intel, which is an integrated card onboard Intel 945/915 chipset motherboards.

So you'd have to buy a new MB.

Thx a lot! There is good news!!! I will think...

You can plug 2 cards but only 1 will work.

I tried with an ATI X800XL and an X700 in the same motherboard, in hopes that I would finally get two working displays. If I told the driver to recognize the second card in any way, it would crash upon startup and I would have to use MacDrive to manually remove the Callisto driver before I could reprogram it.

As is, the second card will run at full fan speed until it gets a resolution to output, making my computer very loud until I reach Windows XP.

As far as I know, there is no way to select which PCIe card is the primary; it defaults to the upper slot.

:) ... please be courteous and don't plug up the thread with a verbose copy of your output from a program.

If you read the thread you'd of seen http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...c=16847&st=340# which tells you *exactly* what you actually need.

Well I didn't have time to read 18 pages, so I'm sorry. :)

i got the same result as you, rtech.

I have W3N nb with ATI radeon 9700 mobility 128M and LCD (1280x768 native but I can 1024x768 only)

it just gave me

Performing real mode VBE Call

Interrupt 0x10 ax=0x4f15 bx=0x1 cx=0x0

Function supported

Call failed

The EDID data should not be trusted as the VBE call failed

EDID claims 144 more blocks left

EDID keeps on claiming came sumber of blocks left. Corruption?

Reading next EDID block

endlessly.

so i had to stop it with Ctrl-C.

tried pars-edid.exe to find out what i got as a result,

# EDID version 149 revision 150

:)

Just hope that there's another solution or LCD monitor doesn't need this.

I have a dell inspiron 8600 with an ATI Radeon 9600 xt turbo video card and a sharp 15.4 wuxga display. I get the following error when I run C:\GET-EDID.EXE EDID-OUT:

Read EDID

Performing real mode VBE Call

Interrupt 0x10 ax=0x4f15 bx=0x1 cx=0x0

Function supported

EDID claims 144 more blocks left

EDID keeps on claiming came sumber of blocks left. Corruption?

Reading next EDID block

The above keeps repeating over and over.

Does anybody know another way of getting the display information that will be needed for Callisto build 003.

I got those results from dos prompt on win98 usb boot-media, a clean boot.

if I run it from command prompt (not in safe mode though), it turns into full screen mode, nothing happens a while, and then the screen turns into white slowly, like burning thingy...it really scared me..

I couldn't change the screen to window mode, so i had to close the command prompt manually.

oh, and I can't get any message from edid-out, it's 0KB from win2k3.

there is a possiblity that your display driver is effecting the output of the EDID program... does it work if you try booting in safe-mode with command prompt?

Hi, I have read this topic complete; Omni has do such a great job. Modify something without any documentation is a very difficult thing to do. Congratulations so.

As many of you, I installed OS X x86 on a Dell Laptop, a Inspiron 6000 with a Mobility X300 video card. But I get the same problem, the installation goes well, but when I switch de resolution to 1280x800 (native), I get the screen cut in a section and replicated in another, I mean that I can get a good image.

Have someone find a solution to this…??

nautikah get it to work, but he is using 10.4.6, and I´m on 10.4.5 is this an important diference…?? Did it work at the first try for you nautikah….???

ThomasR you get it to wok by enabling QE and CI…how did you do that…??

Thankyou for your time guys.

stmkjp, I did exactly the same thing. I did a Windows XP Safe Mode command prompt boot and then I ran C:\GET-EDID.EXE EDID-OUT. In my case the screen turned black and soon after it started to become white like it was burning up, meanwhile some blue vertical lines appeared. I turned off my notebook, and after I did a Windows reboot it still had one blue vertical line on the display. This line eventually went away after 30 minutes of using Windows.

Because it was said to use DOS and NOT win command promt. I used HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool to make my Sony USB-flash bootable with DOS and run GET-EDID. Then I plug this flash into my Win'Desktop and used such command string:

parse-edid.exe EDID-OUT > edid.txt

And here is what I got:

# EDID version 1 revision 3

	VTimings	1050 1050 1053 1066
EndMode
Mode "1400x1050"
	DotClock	90.000000
	HTimings	1400 1444 1556 1688
	VTimings	1050 1050 1053 1066
EndMode

My Laptops native res is 1280x768 and when Mac OSX is booting in verbose I see that Callisto reads it as 1280x768 however under display propertys I can only select 1024x768 and lower...why is that?? Anyone have a workaround?

Moninfo should do fine since you get the raw EDID base info which is what is needed, those hex-values that is.
