Why wait if you've got the money to buy a mac?

That's the point - I don't have the money yet. But I will, eventually... And when Vista's going to be "t3h suck", I'll think twice about buying a PC again. Or rather, putting a M$ OS on it. :D

There are some apps that keep me from leaving Windows, namely 3dsmax, Orion Platinum (music production), the Corel apps, Sony Vegas and DVD Architect, XMPlay (my favourite audio player) and some others.

Now that I have an almost fully working OS X, I could actually go and try to use it as main OS.

Now to something different: I made a search about whether the mouse pointer shadow can be disabled somehow, but didn't find anything. I suppose that if we can disable it, the mouse tearing will disappear, too.

Folks, Radeon mobility 9600 AGP finally works in version 3.

I am so happy with it!!!

The first reboot gives me a noisy screen. Then it never shows in next several reboots.

I guess it's a quite robust version.

LOVE YA OMNI !!

ps. I remember someone is successful for an AGP bus, can sb gives me a hint of which thread I should read?

It's late and a school night, but I can't resist. I'll post my results soon. 002 Alpha refused to work with my setup at all, so I'm hoping this works even if with a few problems.

EDIT: It works perfectly!!!! Not a single distortation. 1680x1050 running fine. The screen split into 2 for some reason, but after switching through a few resolutions, I came back to 1680x1050 and it worked!!!

You are my god, Omni.

Works well on my laptop. I can even use two screens (but not extended desktop, clone mode) and using the fn + monitor key I can choose which one is loaded.

Does anyone know if there is a way with anything released by anyone so far that allows proper extended desktop? Or am I just flying around in the dark here thinking it could be possible? If it's not possible, no biggy, I was just wondering.

i'll try on my 1600xt when i'll get home from university ;)

ahn do i need a dvi cable at all??or may i do it without too??

version 003 doesn't work for me : it detects a LVDS monitor from BIOs, but with a 57403*2421 resolution...

1280x800 res had disapeared from the "monitor" control panel, and switching to any resolution results in a black screen. (out of range, I think)

Version 3 didnt work for me , i had this f***ing OUT OF SYNCH problem with a black screen that i didnt experienced before...

For guys having the screen in 2 parts and then it's ok swithching back to resolution can u tell me if the screen scrambles back when u launch an app that is switching resolution, like games etc just to know if it's worth the try as im running 1280 and have no problem so even changing my monitor won't be usefull
