autoy
Forget the Monitor Asset Manager and Get-EDID... That's definitely good news means proper monitor detection has been achived. Looking forward to a very near release of 003 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16847-callisto-technical-discussion/page/18/#findComment-113136 Share on other sites

EdFlyer
it would appear that omni got the EDID reading working with his driver, so we won't have to manually pull the information anymore. That is exciting. Can't wait until 003 comes out. ThomasR
I wonder how he's going to fix the EDID reading bug with systems like mine, where neither Get-EDID nor MonInfo nor Powerstrip were able to read anything. If he's actually not fixing it... Then I might buy a Mac as my next machine. Pitr-
If he's actually not fixing it... Then I might buy a Mac as my next machine. Why wait if you've got the money to buy a mac? ThomasR
Why wait if you've got the money to buy a mac? That's the point - I don't have the money yet. But I will, eventually... And when Vista's going to be "t3h suck", I'll think twice about buying a PC again. Or rather, putting a M$ OS on it. There are some apps that keep me from leaving Windows, namely 3dsmax, Orion Platinum (music production), the Corel apps, Sony Vegas and DVD Architect, XMPlay (my favourite audio player) and some others. Now that I have an almost fully working OS X, I could actually go and try to use it as main OS. Now to something different: I made a search about whether the mouse pointer shadow can be disabled somehow, but didn't find anything. I suppose that if we can disable it, the mouse tearing will disappear, too. Ashgotti
^ i think there is an app to turn of the shadow for the cursor. forget what it's called. um search the forum for mouse tearing or shadow Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16847-callisto-technical-discussion/page/18/#findComment-113341 Share on other sites
Takuro
I just found out that the 002 alpha driver freezes at loginwindow.app for me, but the 001 alpha would actually work (according to my friend who has the same card.) Anybody mind sending me the 001 alpha to JetBlackRX89@gmail.com? jjoe
Folks, Radeon mobility 9600 AGP finally works in version 3. Radeon Mobility 9600/9700 (M10/M11) NP: Chipset Model: Radeon Mobility 9600/9700 (M10/M11) NP Type: Display Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 64 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x4e50 Revision ID: 0x0000 Displays: Resolution: 1280 x 800 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported I am so happy with it!!! The first reboot gives me a noisy screen. Then it never shows in next several reboots. I guess it's a quite robust version. LOVE YA OMNI !! ps. I remember someone is successful for an AGP bus, can sb gives me a hint of which thread I should read? Takuro
It's late and a school night, but I can't resist. I'll post my results soon. 002 Alpha refused to work with my setup at all, so I'm hoping this works even if with a few problems. EDIT: It works perfectly!!!! Not a single distortation. 1680x1050 running fine. The screen split into 2 for some reason, but after switching through a few resolutions, I came back to 1680x1050 and it worked!!! You are my god, Omni. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16847-callisto-technical-discussion/page/18/#findComment-113457 Share on other sites
EdFlyer
Works well on my laptop. I can even use two screens (but not extended desktop, clone mode) and using the fn + monitor key I can choose which one is loaded. Does anyone know if there is a way with anything released by anyone so far that allows proper extended desktop? Or am I just flying around in the dark here thinking it could be possible? If it's not possible, no biggy, I was just wondering. vince29
version 003 doesn't work for me : it detects a LVDS monitor from BIOs, but with a 57403*2421 resolution... 1280x800 res had disapeared from the "monitor" control panel, and switching to any resolution results in a black screen. (out of range, I think) Radeon x700 mobility(5653), 1280x800 screen Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16847-callisto-technical-discussion/page/18/#findComment-113514 Share on other sites

mmk
Build 3 works here also. Radeon Mobility 7500 (LW) 32MB .... LCD max 1024x768, but now can change res to 800x600 (could not do that in build 2) However, with AppleI386PCI kext it does not work.... (and GA plugin that uses CallistoFB).... Good work, omni! cyclonefr
Version 3 didnt work for me , i had this f***ing OUT OF SYNCH problem with a black screen that i didnt experienced before... For guys having the screen in 2 parts and then it's ok swithching back to resolution can u tell me if the screen scrambles back when u launch an app that is switching resolution, like games etc just to know if it's worth the try as im running 1280 and have no problem so even changing my monitor won't be usefull Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16847-callisto-technical-discussion/page/18/#findComment-113527 Share on other sites
