Same Problem here.(P5Q-Pro)

But I only get the "huge knock" when I didn't play any sound file in the last minute.

I guess that the sound-card goes sleeping after a minute.

And each time you wake it up it makes this sound.

HI!

On leopard I had internal sound working perfectly, but now on SL after installing ALC1200_1062 kext I have it working, but when the the os just booted and I´m on the desktop, I hear hum noise through the speakers, then with the firs sound triggered by any event the hum goes away, I hear sounds, and them if there´s no mo sounds for a moment the hum returns.... pretty annoying.....

I´m on retail 10.6 combo updated to 10.6.2

TNX!

I have a P5QL-EM mainboard and install 10.6.3.

I installed files in ALC1200_1063.zip,but I had no sound.

What's going on?

I saw it's tested OK on first page. ;)

I have lot of trouble since I try this in P5Q-EM:

Erase everything you install about alc1200

and

Just download de attached file from this post:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1444210

and intall it with kextHelper.

Restart

yes my man... it's normal... :(

when u update apple overwrite the modded driver, so how could that work? quite impossible...

[all about this, is already written on first post]

backup vanilla applehda, remove vanilla applehda, install 10.6.3, kextutility, reboot.

guys any help manteining this is very appreciate, the work is already done, now it's just an editing job for each update...

layout id=12

*at all* I don't know how useful should be having all 10.6.x version of modded applehda, since 10.6.3 (for example) works.

OK! You're right, AppleHDA.kext is overwritten, reinstallation fixes it.

Thanks.

Did you clean your ext directory from voodohda and old applehda versions?

copy 10.6.3 modded kext from first post, run kextutility and reboot.

p5q pro is reported as working, I don't have a p5q pro.

:P

with dsdt anyone can run)

But without Dsdt have options?
