1. Being asked to add support for Realtek's Fast Ethernet PCIe NICs to my RTL8111 driver I got tired of answering the same old question again and again so that I finally decided to write a separate driver for these chips and to make a few of you guys and gals happy. As of now the driver supports the following members the RTL810X Fast Ethernet family: RTL8101E RTL8102E RTL8103E RTL8401E RTL8105E RTL8402 RTL8106E RTL8106EUS RTL8107E Here is a list of the driver's basic features: Supports Sierra (maybe El Capitan). 64 bit architecture only. Support for multisegment packets relieving the network stack of unnecessary copy operations when assembling packets for transmission. No-copy receive and transmit. Only small packets are copied on reception because creating a copy is more efficient than allocating a new buffer. TCP, UDP and IPv4 checksum offload (receive and transmit). TCP segmentation offload under IPv4. Support for TCP/IPv6 and UDP/IPv6 checksum offload. Supports Wake on LAN. Support for Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) which can be disabled by setting enableEEE to NO in the drivers Info.plist without rebuild. The default is YES. The driver is published under GPLv2. Built using Xcode 4.6.3. Changelog Version 2.0.1 (2018-05-10): Fixes a problem with retrieval of the permanent MAC address on some chips. Version 2.0.0 (2017-04-04): Uses Apple's private driver interface introduced with 10.8. Adds support for the RTL8107E. Supports packet scheduling with QFQ. Adds support for flow control and EEE. Version 1.0.0 (2014-05-24): First offical release. Installation Before you install the driver you have to remove any installed driver for RTL810X. Goto /S/L/E and delete the old driver. Recreate the kernel cache. Open System Preferences and delete the corresponding network interface, e. g. en0. If you forget this step you might experience strange problems with certain Apple domains, iTunes and iCloud later. Install the new driver and recreate the kernel cache. Reboot Open System Preferences again, select Network and check if the new network interface has been created automatically or create it manually now. Configure the interface. Troubleshooting Make sure you have followed the installation instructions especially when you have issues with certain domains while the others are working fine. Use the debug version to collect log data when trying to track down problems. The kernel log messages can be retrieved with "grep kernel /var/log/system.log" in Terminal. Starting from Sierra use "log show --predicate "processID == 0" --debug" in order to retrieve kernel logs. Include the log data when asking for support or giving feedback. I'm an engineer, not a clairvoyant. Don't copy and paste large amounts of log data to your post. Create an archive with the log data and attach it to your post. In case you don't want to make your log data publicly accessible, contact me via PM and I will provide you a mail address to send it directly to me. Check your BIOS settings. You might want to disable Network Boot and the UEFI Network Stack as these can interfere with the driver. Double check that you have removed any other Realtek kext from your system because they could prevent the driver from working properly. Delete the following files: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist Verify your bootloader configuration, in particular the kernel flags. Avoid using npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000. In Terminal run netstat -s in order to display network statistics. Carefully examine the data for any unusual activity like a high number of packets with bad IP header checksums, etc. In case auto-configuration of the link layer connection doesn't work it might be necessary to select the medium manually in System Preferences under Network for the interface. Use Wireshark to create a packet dump in order to collect diagnostic information. Keep in mind that there are many manufacturers of network equipment. Although Ethernet is an IEEE standard, different implementations may show different behavior causing incompatibilities. In case you are having trouble try a different switch or a different cable. Getting the driver There is a prebuilt binary in the Download section of this site: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/259-realtekrtl8100-binary/ The source code can be found on Github: https://github.com/Mieze/RealtekRTL8100 Mieze
2. A New Driver for Realtek RTL8111 Due to the lack of an OS X driver that makes use of the advanced features of the Realtek RTL81111/8168 series I started a new project with the aim to create a state of the art driver that gets the most out of those NICs which can be found on virtually any cheap board on the market today. Based on Realtek's Linux driver (version 8.035.0) I have written a driver that is optimized for performance while making efficient use of system resources and keeping the CPU usage down under heavy load. Key Features of the Driver Supports Realtek RTL8111/8168 B/C/D/E/F/G found on recent boards. Fully optimized for Mountain Lion (64bit architecture) but should work with Lion too. As of now there is no support for Snow Leopard but it can be added if someone will create the necessary patches. Supports Wake on LAN. Support for Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) which can be disabled by setting enableEEE to NO in the drivers Info.plist without rebuild. The default is YES. The driver is published under GPLv2. Limitations As checksum offload doesn't work with jumbo frames they are currently unsupported and will definitely never be. No support for 32bit kernels. Installation Before you install the driver you have to remove any installed driver for RTL8111/8168. Goto /S/L/E and delete the old driver (Lnx2mac, AppleRealtekRTL8169, etc.). Recreate the kernel cache. Open System Preferences and delete the corresponding network interface, e. g. en0. If you forget this step you might experience strange problems with certain Apple domains, iTunes and iCloud later. Reboot. Install the new driver and recreate the kernel cache. I recommend to use Kext Wizard or a similar utility for the installation. The kernel log messages can be found in /var/log/system.log. For Sierra and above use "log show --predicate "processID == 0" --debug" in order to retrieve kernel logs. Include the log data when asking for support or giving feedback. I'm an engineer, not a clairvoyant. Check your BIOS settings. You might want to disable Network Boot and the UEFI Network Stack as these can interfere with the driver. Double check that you have removed any other Realtek kext from your system because they could prevent the driver from working properly. Verify your bootloader configuration, in particular the kernel flags. Although Ethernet is an IEEE standard different implementations may show different behavior causing incompatibilities. In case you are having trouble try a different switch or a different cable. FAQ How can I retrieve the kernel logs?In Terminal type "grep kernel /var/log/system.log". I want to disable Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) but I don't know how?Take a look at the driver's Info.plist file. There you will find an option named <key>enableEEE</key>. Change its value from <true/> to <false/>. Don't forget to recreate the kernel cache after changing the value. WoL from S5 doesn't work with this driver but under Windows it's working. Is this a driver bug?No it isn't, the driver is working as it should because OS X doesn't support WoL from S5. Current status The driver has been successfully tested under 10.8.x and 10.9 with the B, C, D, E, F and G versions of the RTL8111/8168 and is known to work stable on these devices. Changelog Version 2.2.2 (2018-01-21) Force ASPM state to disabled/enabled according to the config parameter setting. Requires 10.12 or newer. Version 2.2.1 (2016-03-12): Updated underlying linux sources from Realtek to 8.041.00. Added support for RTL8111H. Implemented Apple’s polled receive driver model (RXPOLL). Requires 10.11 or newer. Support for older versions of OS X has been dropped. Version 2.0.0 (2015-06-21): Uses Apple's private driver interface introduced with 10.8. Supports packet scheduling with QFQ. Please note that 2.0.0 is identical to 2.0.0d2. Only the version number has changed. Version 1.2.3 (2014-08-23):Reworked TSO4 and added support for TSO6. Version 1.2.2 (2014-08-44): Added an option to disable Active State Power Management (ASPM, default disabled) as ASPM seems to result in unstable operation of some chipsets. Resolved a problem with Link Aggregation after reboot. Added a workaround for the multicast filter bug of chipset 17 (RTL8111F) which prevented Bonjour from working properly Version 1.2.0 (2014-04-24): Updated underlying linux sources from Realtek to 8.037.00. Improved interrupt mitigate to use a less aggressive value for 10/100 MBit connections. Version 1.1.3 (2013-11-29): Improved transmit queue handling made it possible to reduce CPU load during packet transmission. Improved deadlock detection logic in order to avoid false positives due to lost interrupts. Version 1.1.2 (2013-08-03): Improved SMB performance in certain configurations. Faster browsing of large shares. Version 1.1.0 (2013-06-08): Support for TCP/IPv6 and UDP/IPv6 checksum offload added (can be disabled in Info.plist). Maximum size of the scatter-gather-list has been increased from 24 to 40 segments to resolve performance issues with TSO4 when offloading large packets which are highly fragmented. TSO4 can be disabled in Info.plist without rebuild. Statistics gathering has been improved to deliver more detailed information (resource shortages, transmitter resets, transmitter interrupt count). The interrupt mitigate settings has been changed to improve performance with SMB and to reduce CPU load. Configuration option added to allow for user defined interrupt mitigate settings without rebuild. Version 1.0.4 (2013-05-04):Moved setLinkStatus(kIONetworkLinkValid) from start() to enable(). Cleaned up getDescCommand(). Version 1.0.3 (2013-04-25):The issue after a reboot from Windows has been eliminated. Version 1.0.2 (2013-04-22):Added support for rx checksum offload of TCP and UDP over IPv6. Version 1.0.1 (2013-03-31): Improved behavior when rx checksum offload isn't working properly. Adds the chipset's model name to IORegistry so that it will show up in System Profiler. Known Issues There are still performance problems with regard to SMB in certain configurations. My tests indicate that Apple's Broadcom driver shows the same behavior with those configurations. Obviously it's a more general problem that is not limited to my driver. WoL does not work in certain configurations. Old systems with 3 and 4 series chipsets exhibit performance issues in recent versions of macOS because there is no optimized power management for these systems in macOS anymore as Apple dropped support for the underlying hardware a long time ago. In case you are affected, please upgrade your hardware or find an alternative solution because I have no plans for a workaround. Sorry, but I don't think that it's worth the effort. Getting the driver The source code can be found here: https://github.com/M...driver_for_OS_X There is also a pre-build binary for Mavericks and Yosemite: http://www.insanelym...n-and-wireless/ Building from Source I'm using XCode 4.6.3 for development. You can get a free copy of XCode after becoming a member of the Apple developer program. The free membership is sufficient in order to get access to development tools and documentation.

11. Hello. I've bought an Edimax EW-7822ULC card (link) that has the Realtek RTL8822BU chipset. It comes with a driver "com.realtek.driver.RtWlanU" and a configuration utility called "StatusBarApp". They both appear to work but the configuration utility is too simple. For example, when the Wireless network supports 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz but both frequencies broadcast the same SSID, I can't seem to force it to choose the 5Ghz band. Most other devices be it phones or laptops manage to connect to it fine. Even those that start on 2.4 eventually move to 5 automatically, but not this card. Is there some other utility, command line or graphical, that I can use on MacOS High Sierra to drive this card and make it use the 5Ghz band? Thank you and best regards.

Update (4th june 2009) slim version from 10.5.7 applehda with: green line out, headphones, rear mic, line in and spdif out I removed not needed verbs for multiple channel output (I don't need them) ALC1200_1057_SLIM.zip 4th june 2009 10.5.7 version [latest] ---- ALC1200_SLIM.zip[/b] 19th april 2009 10.5.6 version (discontinued) 2. Normal version with no line-in, you can switch between front/rear mic without any trouble ALC1200_1056.zip 3. This is a beta version with all three input working, line-in, front mic and rear mic, front-mic has some trouble This version works but if you switch between inputs, front mic stops working (only for that session obviously, if you reboot it works). This happens because ALC1200 has 1 digital mixer node for 2 channel (linein and front mic) instead of one, so if you come back from line-in input, to front mic, front mic stops working. At the moment I would think this driver can't manage thing like this, so I don't know if we could have a better driver than this. Anyway I wanted a working line in and if you select this and use it, that works, so if you need line-in you should use this version. Update (14th april 2009) with RCA spdif in "about this mac" Update (17th april 2009) removed ALC1200fix.kext from the pack If you're updating your driver, in order to install this, remove ALC1200fix.kext from your extension folder, then install this with kexthelper. Now in sound preference there's no (useless) "Internal speaker" "Built in" for input and output. ================================================== Thanks the whole forum, especially this thread, TheKing and Taruga Removed verbs they're too large. This is how looks like About this mac: You're lucky, enjoy it!!

Bueno paso a comentarles.
16. Since winter 2015 I've been slowly building my Hackintosh workstation based on Supermicro X9DAi. This mobo has quite good reputation in the community, that's why I have chosen it as my base platform. It quickly turned out the X9DAi Hackintosh setup process is time consuming and has very steep learning curve. Preparation of my rig went into months. Ethernet, USB, USB3, PM, ... step by step I fixed succeeding issues. Days, weeks – you probably know that. It was all worth it however, cause today I have 100% functional muscle hack. Thanks to wonderful community I overcame many obstacles and solved hundred of issues. So now is my turn to put my two cents. ___ Last thing which not worked in my system was audio. Many users reported lack of ability to fix this and after several attempts I also quit. Bought cheapo USB PnP sound card and left the issue unsolved. Having to test some DIY microphone project I did recently, I thought why not to give another shot to my onboard ALC889? I did, and after an hour had working audio onboard. Setup is very simple and you can proceed it in minutes. Of course this is not my developement but compilation of solutions from the web. Tested on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 only. I don't know whether it works in other system versions. So, here's step by step how-to guide: ___ 1. Download "Realtek ALC888s Solution for Yosemite by Mister Thibard" here: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/4299-realtek-alc888s-solution-for-yosemite/ This is very convenient set of utilities suitable here. Download, mount DMG, read the README. 2. Run the PKG from "A" folder. App installs to S/L/E two kexts: VoodooHDA & AppleHDADisabler, Also Voodoo preference pane and VoodooHdaSettingsLoader.app in the Utilities. 3. Open the "B" folder from DMG and copy VoodooHDA.kext somewhere on your HD. Go to new kext location, do "show package content" and edit containing info.plist file in any plain text editor. VoodooHDA is an open source audio driver for devices compliant with the Intel High Definition Audio specification. It is intended as a replacement for AppleHDA on Mac OS X. 4. Check whether your device ID is indeed 0x1d208086 under the "IOPCIPrimaryMatch" key. <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x1d208086</string> If it's not, refer to the README on DMG (or use DPCIManager utility to get device ID). 5. Find the "AllowMSI" key and change its value to "false". <key>AllowMSI</key> <true/> to: <key>AllowMSI</key> <false/> NOTE: if sound is lost after few seconds of any first play, it means you have missed this step 6. Save the info.plist file and close editor. 7. Using KextWizard, KextUtility or any similar app install edited VoodooHDA in /S/L/E and do usual full service. 8. Make VoodooHdaSettingsLoader load at startup. Go to System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> (select desired user) -> Login Items tab. Click "+" and locate VoodooHdaSettingsLoader.app in the Utilities. Select it and add to your startup items: 9. Restart machine. Enjoy your new sound. This solution is quick, effective and elegant. Checkout the Sound pane in System Preferences – all motherboard audio connectors are present: In the VoodooHDA preference pane you may fine-tune output & input source parameters. Very convenient. Cheers!
17. I improved the driver originally made by Mieze. I added a setting in the Info.plist making it possible to change the MAC address of the card. It really works great and fast. I also optimized it to build as kext module with module support. Enjoy Source is included, tested under Yosemite. EDIT: New version. I added a userclient with a preference pane. Now it is possible to change the MAC address on-the-fly using the settings pane. EDIT2: I added a Github page. https://github.com/andyvand/RTL8111 RTL8111_driver_for_OS_X.zip
18. Greetings: I'm still working on getting my system fully working with all the qwirks out but I had a crazy time getting the LAN card to work so I wanted to post the way to get it to work. I'll post full a full guide on tonymacx86 when I get finished. You'll be forced to reboot. [step 3]: Once back in OSX, you'll have to create an Ethernet adapter for your location. When you do, you'll need to manually configure the hardware for that adapter. See below: (System Configuration Menu -> Network -> Ethernet -> Advanced -> Hardware) Configuration: manual Speed: 10baseT/UTP Duplex: Fullduplex MTU: Standard (1500) These instructions taken from this post at osx86.net (using different drivers): http://www.osx86.net...do=file&id=1825 I can confirm that this works. I'm using my RTL8136 to make this thread. Thanks for all the great info on this board and I hope this helps someone. - Rytz

ALC282 MICROPHONE

Hi friends. At times I try to make my microphone work on my Acer E1-572, I've followed a lot of tutorials, I used several kexts, even tried to patch my own kext, "a disaster", followed this guide: AppleALC, AppleHDA Patcher... I can get my audio work, the microphone is detected but does not capture anything, Someone could help me and see where I'm going wrong, I'm running the Sierra and everything is working, but no mic. I will attach my DSDT, SSDT, config.plist, the kexts I use for the Audio work and also my codec_dump.txt. Conf Acer E1-572.zip
21. At past versions of OSX we can use Antipop script, that not give OSX turnoff soundcard power at idle after 30sec. But in OSX Sierra, this script not working, so when no sound in soundcard between 30sec, OSX turn down power at soundcard, so when system need to play some notification sound, at first we can hear cracking pop sound, after sound of notification.
22. Hi I have bought a USB Wifi and Bluetooth device for my Laptop (Lenovo U530 Touch) because I had to remove the internal PCIe card for an external GPU. In Windows it obviously works fine because of the given drivers. I have not tested Linux yet. Now i tought it would be nice to use it on my Yosemite installation. I have no idea how difficult it may be to port the driver from linux to osx with the linux C source code. I am a programmer but not in this field. So first question, is someone able to port the driver, and if it is not THAT difficult what do I need to do it. You can find the source code of the linux drivers and a documentation how to port the drivers to Android (was included in the driver package) here -> https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27661831/20150108_RTL8723BU_BT_android4.2_V2.20_P25_FW_svn13430-BTCOE.zip https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27661831/20150108_RTL8723BU_BT_android4.4_V2.21_P29_FW_svn13430-BTCOE.zip https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27661831/20150108_RTL8723BU_BT_android5.0_V2.21_P14_FW_svn13430-BTCOE.zip https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27661831/Linux_BT_USB_2.13.20141128_8723BU_COEX20140929_5443.zip https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27661831/RTL8723BU_WiFi_linux_v4.3.9_13200.20150106_BTCOEX20140929-54.zip kind regards Thomas
23. Hello! I have an Asus Q550LF running Mavericks 10.9.0, Niresh Edition. Currently, I have most things working, but a priority is audio. It is a Realtek ALC668. It has two inputs and three outputs: - Combined Mic/Headphones port (1 in, 1 out) - Built-in Microphone (in) - 3 front laptop speakers (out) - Subwoofer port (out) [priority=0] I have read some basic guides on how to patch the AppleHDA, but I have no idea where to start as this is my first ever Hackintosh. I have Windows 8, Ubuntu, and Clover all as available tools to help me fix this. Can someone please try to walk me through how to create a KEXT for my PC? Thanks!!
24. I have audio woking but when I open a heavy program like Maya 3D, close it, or when using it I get audio cutted and it jumps or freezes every second. I have used the computer for average things like browsing and watch movies for several days and audio works fine. But when I start to use Maya or Zbrush it starts to fail. Sometimes even starts to add lot of noise and slowing the speed of the audio. Trying to fix it I applied Toledas script http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/308387-el-capitan-realtek-alc-applehda-audio/ Using the I.1) method and does not fix the issue. I don't even know how to describe the problem so I cannot find a fix properly in the forum. Hope someone can point me in the right direction because I am having this issue from the beginning of this hackintosh and it's very annoying being watching a video tutorial and have to wait several minutes to come back the audio to work properly. My system is: Asus Rampage V Extreme USB3.1 CPU i7-6900K 3.2Ghz 64GB RAM at 2133Mhz Audio Realtek 1150 Thank you very much. Have a nice day.
25. Hi. I'm having some issues with my PCIe ethernet. I installed applertl8139ethernet.kext using [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] on hackintosh zone yosemite distro. My laptop is dell n5010. This is my kernel panic after i use internet for a couple of minutes. BTW my ethernet used to work Out of the box on mavericks. PS: RehabMan's and lnx2mac's kexts dont work either.
