  1. Nice, seeing High Sierra running on this old but capable system! It rocks with a new ASUS GT1030 Config: Gigabyte EP43-DS3L Core2Quad Q9300 6 GB DDR2 RAM Asus GT1030 2GB Sandisk SSD 128GB TP-Link AC1200 Wifi USB Inateck KT4006 USB 3.0 PCIe (No boot) SMBIOS: iMac14,1 Clover: 4297 A good deal of DSDT editing was necessary to get this machine to boot High Sierra but finally it works flawlessly, even sleep and wake! You NEED to have the DSDT put in place for installation because otherwise macOS doesn't recognize the SATA ports. There are a few important BIOS settings: SATA hast to be set to AHCI and "native" and HPET has to be run "64-bit", I'd recommend to disable IDE and the serial and parallel port. For the GT1030 nVidia Webdrivers are needed, have to boot with nv_disable=1 until you have them installed. You have to install Clover in legacy mode because this old fella does not support UEFI. Only downside: The so often recommended Inateck USB-card isn't recognized by BIOS, so you cannot boot from it. It works perfectly within macOS though, have the ac-Wifi connected to it. config.plist.zip DSDT.aml.zip

No OS X. Se usa Chameleon, digite essa flag antes do boot: DSDT=null Pode usar esse comando no Terminal: perl -e 'open(CMD, "ioreg -lw0 \| grep DSDT|") or die; while(<CMD>) { chomp; if($_ =~ /\"DSDT\.?\d?\"=<([^>]*)>/) { $buff = $1; open(PIP, "|xxd -r -p > dsdt.aml") or die; print PIP "$1"; } }' Ou usar o app DSDT Editor, um app leve e facil de usar. O bootloader carrega a DSDT do sistema a partir do primeiro inicio. No MaciASL no icone Compile. Corrigir erros/warnings. 1 - Warning ResourceTag larger than Field (Tag: 64 bits, Field: 32 bits) Mude disso: CreateDWordField (BUF0, \_SB.PCI0._Y0F._LEN, MSLN) Para: CreateQWordField (BUF0, \_SB.PCI0._Y0F._LEN, MSLN) 2 - Warning Result is not used, possible operator timeout will be missed De Acquire (MUT0, 0x0FFF) Para Acquire (MUT0, 0xFFFF) 3 - Warning Not all control paths return a value (_HID) Warning Reserved method must return a value (Integer/String required for _HID) De: Method (_HID, 0, NotSerialized) { If (TCMF) {} Else { Return (0x310CD041) } } Para: Method (_HID, 0, NotSerialized) { If (TCMF) { Return (Zero) } Else { Return (0x310CD041) } } 4 - Error Object is not accessible from this scope (_T_0) Exclua o ultimo “_” (Ex: _T_0 para T_0) 5 - Error Object does not exist (_VPC) Exclua todos os “_” (Ex: Store (Local0, _VPC) Return (_VPC) Para Store (Local0, VPC) Return (VPC) Seção 5 Patchs Talvez se assustou um pouco com a maneira que deve ser corrigido os warnings/erros, mas para facilitar o trabalho, existem varios patchs que fazem o trabalho pra você. 15. If you have a working Brightness Slider and you might be using Brightness slider or manual hotkeys to control brightness then this guide may help you to use your Native hotkeys of laptop. (All the Credits goes to @RehabMan For OS-X-ACPI-Debug Kext and DSDT Patches.) This step assumes that you are using RehabMan's VoodooPS2Controller Install the kext: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Debug Open MaciASL and click on patch.(Add rehab man repo) Apply "Add DSDT Debug Methods" and "Instrument EC Queries" that are under Brightness Fix. Save the DSDT and restart Look in Syslog as you press the key corresponding to brightness to determine which _QXX methods handle the keys Then patch DSDT: into method label _Q1D replace_content begin // Brightness Down\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0205)\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0285)\n end; into method label _Q1C replace_content begin // Brightness Up\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0206)\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0286)\n end; Change the variable _Q1D/_Q1C as per the log. 7. Try compiling and check if it generates errors 8. If it does, then change the PS2M to PS2X according to the one found in your DSDT 9. Save and place the compiled DSDT. 10. Now you should see that you have your corresponding keys to change your brightness FOR more detail and Queries,Check Out original Post of @RehabMan Here; http://www.insanelym...18#entry1997112 Get Latest Version of OS-X-ACPI-Debug kext here: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-acpi-debug/downloads
  16. ****************************************************************************************************************************** IF YOU WANT A RAW COPY (THAT INCLUDES ACTUAL FORMATTING) OF THIS UNFINISHED GUIDE, ASK ME THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE, THEN MODIFY IT AND SEND IT BACK TO ME THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE, IT'LL BE A PLEASURE TO UPDATE IT, BUT I'M NOT ACTIVE HERE ANYMORE -- ALSO, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO HAVE THIS THREAD'S OWNERSHIP CHANGED AND WANT TO OWN IT, LET ME KNOW HOW TO PROCEED AS I DO NOT WISH TO KEEP IT FOR ME, THANKS! ****************************************************************************************************************************** Hi, I'm starting this new topic in the hope to, progessively, create a guide for a vanilla (as much as possible) OS X Installation on Z400/Z600/Z800 Workstations. I invite you to participate in the comments so that this topic becomes an easy-to-follow guide. The idea of doing this emerged from information exchanged with other members (proteinshake, MacPeet, zhangtemplar, MacUser2525, nitelava & apav) in topic titled "Fix my HP! Just a few random DSDT-edits to improve your HacMac experience." originally created by proteinshake. Main goals of this guide Explain manual procedures; Avoid "magical" utilities, but don't ignore them (they can sometimes be time/life savers); Make you become independent & aware of the inner mechanics of creating a functional Hackintosh, so that you can repeat & adapt those procedures for future hackintosh projects. *** AS THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS TOPIC, I WILL NEED SOME HELP TO GATHER ACCURATE INFORMATION *** HELP NEEDED, PLEASE READ THIS SECTION, THANKS! As I only own a Z400 Workstation, I'd need you (those who own Z600 and Z800 Workstations) to send me your lspci output. To do so, you have 2 options: Boot with a Linux LiveCD (see the Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links section at the bottom of this post); If you already have an OSX version installed, you'll need to install lspci (see the Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links section at the bottom of this post). Type the following command : lspci -nnvv >~/Desktop/lspci-nnvv_output.txt If you are using Linux, please also type this command (before creating the following, make sure you updated your BIOS to v03.57) : sudo cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT >~/Desktop/DSDT.aml OR: sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt >~/Desktop/DSDT.aml (whichever works for you) Copy those files to a USB flash drive, send them to yourself by email or whatever other method you want. Then, reply to this topic mentionning which workstation you have, and attach the file(s) created above. ALSO, if you got Clover to boot your Z400 / Z600 / Z800 Worktation, PLEASE send us your config.plist so that we can have a starting point. I'm trying to switch from Chameleon to Clover, but I'm still unable to fix a Kernel Panic I have; I will report it with a screenshot soon in the comments, maybe some of you might know why I get it. Requirements Another Mac or Hackintosh machine; 8GB+ USB flash drive; BIOS updated to latest version (v03.57, 2013-09-20 release, found HERE); This is mandatory for 2 reasons : patched DSDT files included in this guide will not work (properly) if you use a different BIOS version; that latest BIOS version fixes possible erratic behaviours with Xeon 3600 & 5600 CPU series. Z400/Z600/Z800 specific files (see Z400/Z600/Z800 specific information sections further below). BIOS setup instructions (eventually, there will be screenshots) You must set your hard drive controller to AHCI+RAID mode, else you won't be able to use your SATA devices. ... Generic instructions (for all downloads/credits, see Tools/Utilities/kexts or other useful links & All attached files sections at the bottom of this post) Get a copy of Yosemite Installer from the AppStore; Create a Yosemite boot DVD or USB (USB recommended); Partition & format the USB Flash Drive : Put your USB Flash Drive in a USB port; Open Disk Utility; Select your USB Flash Drive disk in the left pane; Click on the "Partition" tab in the right pane; Change "Partition Scheme" to 1; Click on "Options" at the bottom; Make sur you select GUID (first one) and click on OK; Give it a name, let's say Yosemite-Installer for the sake of this guide; Change "Format" to "Extended Mac OS (journaled)" (AFTER THIS STEP, YOU'LL ERASE YOUR USB Flash Drive, so make a backup first if you have important data on it!); Click on "Apply"; Create a USB Flash Drive with Yosemite Installer on it; Open Terminal; Copy/Paste the following command (make sure to verify the path names as they might differ slightly on your setup) - it will ask for your user password to elevate the command at root permission level : sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/YosemiteInstaller --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction Wait until it's completed (takes about 20 minutes, depending on your setup and USB speed); Into your volume's /System/Library/Extensions folder, copy the following kernel extensions (kext) : AHCIPortInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext.zip & IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector_v1.0.0_Micky1979.kext.zip - Those extensions make OS X detect your SATA controller. You'll get the "Waiting for root device..." message if you don't install those. (Couldn't yet find official page nor original thread for those, please let me know if you found it - credits seem to go to Micky1979); FakeSMC_v6.16.1372_netkas.kext.zip - emulates Apple's SMC chip found on Apple motherboards; NullCPUPowerManagement_v1.0.0d2_tgwbd.kext.zip - prevents kernel panic of genuine Apple Power Management; (optional for the install disk, this is to get sound working) VoodooHDA_v2.87.kext.zip (autumnrain, slice2009) - The file attached here is version 2.87 with a tweaked Info.plist to fix noise & volume issues for our workstations. According to my tests, HDADisabler kext is not needed (probably because original unpatched AppleHDA won't detect our Realtek ALC262 chipset). Now, let's rebuild that target volume's kernel cache with the following command : kextcache -f -update-volume /Volumes/YosemiteInstall Create the Extra folder on your Yosemite's install disk : mkdir -p /Volumes/YosemiteInstaller/Extra Install a bootloader Chameleon ... A: You must reinstall those hacked kexts, because the update overwrite the vanilla hacked applehda kexts. Should even happens that the update doesn't overwrite the old applehda kext driver, so in this case, you don't need to reinstall. Q: I'm experiencing pop sound, how can I solve this? A: Try setting your hack as MacPro3,1 in /Extra/smbios.plist =========== ==================== MAVERICKS 10.9 AND MOUNTAIN LION 10.8 ========================== Only DSDT method. ALC1200_lm_108.zip - edit DSDT pointing to 12 (hex 0C) layout ID, as on the HDEF text file attached - install AppleHDA.kext attached - cache rebuild - reboot this is from my dsdt (Asus P5Q with E8400 and 4GB ram) so you can understand where you have to put the hdef code. DSDTEditor is recommended. Edit your DSDT, don't use mine. dsdt.zip these are the xmls needed for our ALC1200 to work right layout_and_platforms.zip ==================== MAVERICKS 10.9 AND MOUNTAIN LION 10.8 ========================== ==================== SNOW LEOPARD and LION ========================== **First method**: with DSDT Injection, patched AppleHDA, and NO HDAenabler attached. For previous OSx version you can try installing only the ALC1200fix and the HDAEnabler from ALC1200_1056LINEIN version and see if that works. The other ALC1200 kext versions out on the forum are old and I think can even cause some shutdown/reboot issue. This driver doesn't work with ALCinjector. - SPDIF coaxial Digital Out working - Headphone working - Line in is working only in the slim and line-in version, read notes down this post ----------- Works on 10.5.7, just download and reinstall the driver. Choose driver version, I think best choice is the slim version: 1. Update (4th june 2009) slim version from 10.5.7 applehda with: green line out, headphones, rear mic, line in and spdif out I removed not needed verbs for multiple channel output (I don't need them) ALC1200_1057_SLIM.zip 4th june 2009 10.5.7 version [latest] ---- ALC1200_SLIM.zip[/b] 19th april 2009 10.5.6 version (discontinued) 2. Normal version with no line-in, you can switch between front/rear mic without any trouble ALC1200_1056.zip 3. This is a beta version with all three input working, line-in, front mic and rear mic, front-mic has some trouble This version works but if you switch between inputs, front mic stops working (only for that session obviously, if you reboot it works). This happens because ALC1200 has 1 digital mixer node for 2 channel (linein and front mic) instead of one, so if you come back from line-in input, to front mic, front mic stops working. At the moment I would think this driver can't manage thing like this, so I don't know if we could have a better driver than this. Anyway I wanted a working line in and if you select this and use it, that works, so if you need line-in you should use this version. Update (14th april 2009) with RCA spdif in "about this mac" Update (17th april 2009) removed ALC1200fix.kext from the pack If you're updating your driver, in order to install this, remove ALC1200fix.kext from your extension folder, then install this with kexthelper. Now in sound preference there's no (useless) "Internal speaker" "Built in" for input and output. ================================================== Thanks the whole forum, especially this thread, TheKing and Taruga Removed verbs they're too large. This is how looks like About this mac: You're lucky, enjoy it!!
  19. Hey guys I'm new here and hoping someone can help... I just successfully built my first hackintosh and at this point there is only the USB 3.0 problem that is keeping my new build from being fully (or as near as I need it) functional. Well actually it would be kinda nice to get onboard audio working, but that is less important. I used the infamous automated tools from a well known website to get to where I am now. I have read a little, but I still have no idea how to build DSDT or SSDT or what the difference/relationship between them is. I built a Gigabte Z370 Gaming 7 (F7 firmware) with I7-8700k and GTX 1080. At present I cannot seem to connect external storage to any of the USB 3.0 ports. I'm hoping there's a smart and generous soul out there who can help me out. Thanks
  20. Say I have TWO .aml files in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched -- dsdt1.aml and dsdt2.aml. I want to compare how they affect my machine. Now, I wanted to try NOT loading either of them. So in config.plist I set 'DSDT Name' set to null, i.e., there is no value. But checking bdmesg it shows Inserting dsdt1.aml from EFI\CLOVER\ACPI\patched ... Success Inserting dsdt2.aml from EFI\CLOVER\ACPI\patched ... Success Does "Inserting" mean they were loaded? Or just recognized? Did BOTH of them get loaded? Do they have to be called DSDT or is that arbitary? Do I need to actually remove them from ACPI/patched in order to NOT load them? I'd like to be able to choose a DSDT, or none, from within Clover at boot. I'm hesitant to remove them because if one option prevents me from booting MacOS, then I'm SOL because putting it back will be a PITA. Can I put them in a different folder and still load one from Clover options? Thanks!

    ACPI Battery Help

Hey all! I could use some help here, I have an Acer Aspire 7741z with a seemingly unique battery. I attempted some of Rehabman's patches and his ACPIBatteryManager.kext but nothing has worked. If anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Attached is my DSDT. Please and thank you! dsdt.aml.zip

    Clover e sleep

Archive.zip

  25. Hello everyone, I have an Asus gl502vmk (i7 kabylake + GTX 1060 6 gb) laptop and I tried all the patches/kexts to get the brightness with fn keys/touchpad (I2C ELAN 1200 works with VooDoo I2C kext v1.0 but no gestures/preference pane)/Keyboard backlight to work but no success so far, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. [EDIT] (10/04/2018) Battery status now works, thanks to @RehabMan turned out to be incorrect SMBIOS (used iMac instead of Mbp) lol, but it drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours while on standby (all apps quited!), on windows 10 it lasts 4 - 5 hours, and on linux it lasts 6 ~ 7 hours!) And with VoodooI2C v2.0.1 + VoodooI2CHID kext and patched DSDT, the touchpad is now detected in the sys pref pane but still no input. Sound works with VoodooHDA v2.9.1, but the only issue is that the jack sense isn't working (the output device doesn't auto switch to headphone when connected) [EDIT 2] (11/04/2018) The system brightness now works thanks to @onejay09 but I have no brightness slider, and there are 4 extra brightness levels (brightness stops increasing after 12 levels) and the brightness keys are not mapped correctly, plus the brightness decreases when I plug in the ac adapter, then increases if I unplug it???, the brightness level isn't also saved after reboot. battery still drains crazy fast (~1.5 - 2 hours, even with brightness at 50%, so apparently it is a power management issue). and I also have shutdowns while in sleep mode (I tried darkwake=10 and darkwake-0 and darkwake=no) P.S. I have uploaded my new report files, thanks! Latest report files (11/04/2018): https://www95.zippyshare.com/v/AMOpP0AY/file.html
