    VoodooTSCSync Configurator

    Version 2.1

    1,631 downloads

This app can be used to edit or create custom versions of the voodoo tsc sync kext, i have created it because i have seen many times peoples having troubles in finding the right version of voodoo tsc sync for their cpu, so i created a mac app that lets to edit or create a voodoo tsc kext and configure it for your system, i have included 3 ways to edit the kext: 1) configure using one of the existing templates (just chose one of the cpu models listed) 2) specifying the number of logical cores (threads) 3) manually editing the info.plist of the kext using the editor (still experimental, needs some improvements) This app uses a copy of the VoodooTSCSync in his Resourches folder, or you can open an existing version of VoodooTSC and edit it, there are some other useful features to discover, and new ideas are also welcome to improve this program, i know that with a plist editor you can do what this app does, but this is designed to be more user friendly than editing a plist file manually and just for accomplish the task of configuring this kext for your machines without looking on the web for that specific pre-configured version you need, just download this program and follow a few steps. Reference topic: VoodooTSCSync Configurator, create a custom version of voodoo tsc sync

A: You must reinstall those hacked kexts, because the update overwrite the vanilla hacked applehda kexts. Should even happens that the update doesn't overwrite the old applehda kext driver, so in this case, you don't need to reinstall. Q: I'm experiencing pop sound, how can I solve this? A: Try setting your hack as MacPro3,1 in /Extra/smbios.plist =========== ==================== MAVERICKS 10.9 AND MOUNTAIN LION 10.8 ========================== Only DSDT method. For previous OSx version you can try installing only the ALC1200fix and the HDAEnabler from ALC1200_1056LINEIN version and see if that works. The other ALC1200 kext versions out on the forum are old and I think can even cause some shutdown/reboot issue. This driver doesn't work with ALCinjector. - SPDIF coaxial Digital Out working - Headphone working - Line in is working only in the slim and line-in version, read notes down this post ----------- Works on 10.5.7, just download and reinstall the driver. Choose driver version, I think best choice is the slim version: 1. Update (4th june 2009) slim version from 10.5.7 applehda with: green line out, headphones, rear mic, line in and spdif out I removed not needed verbs for multiple channel output (I don't need them) ALC1200_1057_SLIM.zip 4th june 2009 10.5.7 version [latest] ---- ALC1200_SLIM.zip[/b] 19th april 2009 10.5.6 version (discontinued) 2. Normal version with no line-in, you can switch between front/rear mic without any trouble ALC1200_1056.zip 3. This is a beta version with all three input working, line-in, front mic and rear mic, front-mic has some trouble This version works but if you switch between inputs, front mic stops working (only for that session obviously, if you reboot it works). This happens because ALC1200 has 1 digital mixer node for 2 channel (linein and front mic) instead of one, so if you come back from line-in input, to front mic, front mic stops working. At the moment I would think this driver can't manage thing like this, so I don't know if we could have a better driver than this. Anyway I wanted a working line in and if you select this and use it, that works, so if you need line-in you should use this version. Update (14th april 2009) with RCA spdif in "about this mac" Update (17th april 2009) removed ALC1200fix.kext from the pack If you're updating your driver, in order to install this, remove ALC1200fix.kext from your extension folder, then install this with kexthelper. Now in sound preference there's no (useless) "Internal speaker" "Built in" for input and output. ================================================== Thanks the whole forum, especially this thread, TheKing and Taruga Removed verbs they're too large. This is how looks like About this mac: You're lucky, enjoy it!!

  9. Hello, Due to the lacking support of this sound card, I decided to write a driver, I have quite decent background in C and I/O management to think that I'm able to write one. However, I'm not very familiar with how kexts are working, and the whole process of hooking the code to the kernel. Does anyone have a reference to share about that, maybe some kext on GitHub or whatever, I'll understand by reading the code, it's not a problem. (Already looked at the Apple Reference on kext writing / using IOKit, it doesn't provide much... They don't really like when we have fun with kexts it seems...) As for the technical sheets of the CMI8788, I guess I can get them myself on internet, that including the addresses of each input/output the card has. And if Dogbert could pass by here, I'd be happy to have some help from an expert like him Feel free to help in any way, you're very welcome, because I'm quite a busy man, so the more help I get, the less time I take Here are my progresses so far : Resources : PID match table (source :http://www.alsa-proj..._EEPROM_Failure) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_82691043 OK (Xonar D2) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_82751043 OK (Xonar DX) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_82B71043 OK (Xonar D2X) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_83141043 OK (Xonar HDAV1.3) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_83271043 OK (Xonar DX) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_834F1043 OK (Xonar D1) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_835C1043 OK (Xonar Essence STX) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_835D1043 OK (Xonar Essence ST) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_835E1043 OK (Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_838E1043 OK (Xonar DS) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_84281043 OK (Xonar Xense) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_84671043 OK (Xonar DG) PCI\VEN_13F6&DEV_8788&SUBSYS_878813F6 overwritten EEPROM
  10. Hi guys, I am creating this topic to discuss an idea I had about a way to force the Mac OS installer to not install using apfs. So we know that apfs does not runs well on drives not made by apple because it's designed to run on apple firmware, so error correcting features will not work and this will cause data corruption and data lose over the long period of time, so some people will like more to not use apfs and avoid all that problems, but apple has integrated an ssd detection mechanism that will force to upgrade to apfs if an ssd is detected, so my idea is to create a kext that is loaded before the system initializes sata devices and then forces the system to detect all sata and nvme devices as hard drives, I think that is possible, but I do not know iokit so much well to do it, so I am creating this thread, to ask if it's possible to create something like that using io kit and other system libraries to create a kext the could work with clover kext injection and force the system to see all the ssd as hard drives, and also other idea for the kext is that it will enable itself to run only when you are booting into a Mac OS installer, maybe that could be also done using a clover kext to patch string directly on the sata family kext, so what do you think about my idea? is there someone that could help me to create the kext or a clover patch? Thank you for checking out my thread, I hope that we will find a solution soon PS: I know that there re things like scripts and commands to install without apfs, but my aim is to create a method that lets the users to tone perform any special task inside the Mac OS installer
  11. Linksys AE6000 on macOS Sierra So after a bit of work I got Sierra installed on to my MacBook Air 2,1! The only issue is wifi. To remedy this issue till I can get a new wifi card, I decided to see if I could use my Linksys AE6000 on Sierra. Requirements: Linksys AE6000(or similar RT2870 card) Yosemite RT2870 kext D-Link Pref Pane(DWA-140, thanks! @rodrigocunha) Kext Utility To get the Yosemite kext for the RT2870, I had to go through Mediatek's installer with Pacifist. I did try the Mavericks kext from the other RT2870 thread but it didn't work. The files will be attached below! (RT2870 Kext,DWA-140 Pref Pane file,Kext Utility Now to the process: I'm not sure if order matters but I had the DWA-140 Pane installed already Next drag and drop the RT2870 USB WiFi in to Kext Utility Reboot(with or without your USB Adapter attached) Your adapter should be blinking or working with the DWA-140 Utility Have fun, enjoy! 13. Hello At the moment i am busy with Mac OS on a: AMD A10 5750M AMD 8650G with R5 M230 dedicated gpu. By default i am using: Niresh 10.9.0 and Mac OS is using the 8650G (ID) Everything works fine: Sleep, Audio, Internet Wifi currently not, but no problem for me. Just want to know: - Is it possible to use Mac OS Optimized without kext/drivers? - Or can i get a kext/configuration from someone With the 8650G it is not working. Maybe it is possible to assign the R5 M230 to use. Can someone help me with this? I can use everything, but i got the flickering problems in the launchpad and safari. (3mb vram in configs) Thanks!
  14. Hi, I tried to install iATKOS S3 V2 on my old Acer Extensa 4620 (not 4620z). The installation worked (though I had to remove the battery), and i could not boot into the OS. So i tried -v -x, and it worked, and I could set it up. But the verbose mode showed a lot of errors about something like AppleUSBUHCI.kext not loading or something. The main issue is that my trackpad isnt working, usb mouse not working, wireless mouse also tried, not working. But the keyboard is working.! Any suggestions on how to get back my mouse(stuck on top left of screen)?? (Last resort, I can install it again, if someone tells me what drivers to enable, because the last install worked on some random selection of drivers) Thanks in advance ---------------------------------- SYSTEM SPECS (if required) [ If any more required, ask) ---------------------------------- Model : Acer Extensa 4620 Processer: Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz RAM : 3 GB DDR2 Graphics / Display : Mobile intel 965 express chipset family (I also see X3100 somewhere) BIOS : (Dont know for sure) Phoenix v1.00PARTTBL HDD : 160GB ?? In dxdiag, I found PS/2 devices connected :: HID Keyboard Device Standard PS/2 Keyboard PS/2 Compatible Mouse HID Compliant mouse. And also, my mouse and keyboard both worked DURING the install, but not after it ???? Edit: Reinstalling with the proper drivers might be better, if somebody provides me with a list of drivers
  15. Hello all. I have tried for DAYS now to get this working, it's an i5 Lenovo T410, and I did the BIOS whitelist, installed what I needed and everything is working flawlessly EXCEPT audio. I have installed many different flavors of AppleHDA, tried VooDooHDA (Not an option, KP every time) and I simply cannot figure this one out. I'm one of those types that if I'm reaching out for tech support, you can know I've tried everything. I even did a codec dump from Ububtu Live USB key, so I am really stuck and this is for a friend i NEED to get this done cause it's been WAY too long. So here is a zip of everything. The DSDT raw and the one I tried edited. The DarwinDumper info. and the AppleHDA, HDAEnabler, and a screen cap from DPCIManager which shows it is a Conexant CX20585 with Codec ID 0x14F15069. Anyone who can help me figure this out I would be most appreciative, thanks in advance. iKahuna The files are here and thanks again to the guru that solves this conundrum,.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/qv8lrtoivjs8br5/T410-Audio-Help-iKahuna.zip

  19. Maybe this isn't a topic for the New Users Lounge, but the thing is that I am a new user to this matter and I also CAN'T create a new topic in the developer section. So here it goes. I am trying to build a driver for my USB Wireless Card (TP-Link TL-WN722N) which isn't supported in Mac. I also found it very commented around some other websites, mainly asking for a supporting kext, then I made my mind. The 1srt question should be simple: What kind of project should I build in Xcode? One using IOKit framework (user space) or one using Kernel framework (kernel space)? I have been having troubles to get the basics fully working maybe because I am using the wrong start.
  20. Hey guys, I was able to get full working brightness on my HP notebook running Yosemite (full specs should be in the sig) Now all I need to do is get the brightness keys mapped. This should be the easy part, but I'm having some troubles. On my notebooks keyboard, the F2 and F3 keys are the brightness down/up. Following these two guides: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/wiki/How-to-Use-Custom-Keyboard-Mapping and https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller I've installed the VoodooPS2 debug kext which shows in Console the key codes for the keys I'm hitting. So I've figured out that pressing JUST the FN key, or just the F2 key doesn't show anything at all in Console, but every time I press the FN key and the F2 key at the same time, this is shown sending key 3c=78 down sending key 3c=78 up and for FN + F3 sending key 3d=63 down sending key 3d=63 up and doing some research, I see that the ADB code for brightness down is 0x91, and 0x90 for brightness up. These translate to 145 and 144 in decimal, so I tested this out by holding command and then typing 145. Sure enough, my brightness turned down, and command + 144 turned it back up. This is where I think I go astray; according to the guides, I think this means that the codes that I'll be putting underneath the 'Custom ADB Map' section should be this <string>3c=91</string> <string>3d=90</string> So I go to the release version of VoodooPS2Controller.kext, secondary click > Show package contents, > Contents > Plugins > VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext > secondary click > Show Package Contents, > Contents > Info.plist and edit that file to try and map a single press of my F2 key to what the ADB code for brightness down is (0x91) However I can't get this to work. The brightness doesn't change, but if I load the debug kext I can still use command+145/144 to adjust my brightness, so I know it's just user error I'm seeing. is my code wrong? Also; because a single press of the 'F2' or 'F3' key doesn't generate any any PS2 scan codes at all, does that mean that mapping JUST this key(without the FN) key will be impossible? I would like to be able to adjust my brightness without holding down FN like I can on Windows, but I don't see how it will if it doesn't generate it's own scan code under VoodooPS2. Any help is greatly appreciated my friends. buttcrap
  21. Salve raga, potete aiutarmi a trovare le kext per il mio HP pavilion g6 1364sl? Ho appena completato l'installazione, ma mancano molte kext.
  22. Hi Forum, Basically I have spare computer which is a HP Pavilion t124a and I'm thinking of possibly turning it into a hackintosh. I do not know which type of distro of either 10.5 of 10.4 I should use. I have had success with the iPC 10.5.6 Public Beta, well... I mean I was able to boot the Install disk straight up from the Disk Drive without using a 'booter' (##### etc). The problem is... is that I don't know what kexts to use. I kinda based the kexts on what my computer hardware has, then I install it then come to the Darwin/x86 screen (Asking me to press any key to continue or to press F8 for boot flags) I choose the Boot flag option and type -f and -v as iPC recommends to. It then starts up with Apple Logo then loads the kexts for about 30 seconds then It loads up the first time set up then has a kernel Panic when I was up to putting my Registration Information in. while in -v mode it does come up with errors regarding com.superhai.GenericCPUPowerManagement or something like that. I don't know what kexts to use with this machine If possible, could someone tell me what kexts I use from my system ( My System Specs are... - 2.53GHz Intel Pentium 4 - 1GB RAM PC2700 (2x512 DIMM) DDR - Samsung SV076AH 60GB IDE - HP cd-writer/dvd-rom combo drive (I'm writing like a noob) - Gigabyte Geforce 6500 256MB AGP - Intel ICH4 Chipset - Realtek ALC650 Audio (AC'97) - Realtek RTL8101L I want know what kexts I should use regarding to the... - Kernel - Video Drivers (The motherboard uses AGP, do have the AGPGart 2.7.1 along with the NVinject 256MB or either one. 23. Hi. These days I've installed my first hackintosh on an Acer Aspire 5742G-384G32Mnkk. I tried to follow various tutorials around the web but I haven't already found a way to use this video card on my system. Is there a way to get it work? Notes: - I use Clover as my default bootloader - Mavericks detects correctly my card on System Information as 0x68E4 (but it's not present on AMD* kexts) - System Information detects correctly my card model (ATI Radeon HD 6370M Series) but it says that I have only 4MB of VRAM (my card have 512MB of dedicated memory) - On verbose boot, OS X detects that I have the following cards: Controller: Intel PCH (vendor ID: 8086, device ID: 3b56) Controller: ATI (Unknown) (vendor ID: 1002, device ID: aa68) - I don't know how to build a custom EDID, Framebuffer Thanks for your support!
