  3. MacOS does not support natively the keyboard backlight for non-Apple hardware. I wrote an open source Kext project (ClevoService) to perform this task on Clevo laptops. It's fully working on my Clevo P9XXEN_EF_ED laptop with Mojave (18G95) and it should works on many other Clevo laptops. If you own a Clevo laptop with full color backlight keyboard, take a look at: https://github.com/FreeJHack/ClevoService The big advantage is that the backlight function is fully controlled from the numeric keypad and it's saved between boot/reboot and sleep/wake. You can change color, backlight level and ON/OFF. For the installation, download the kext from release page and follow the instruction given in the GitHub repository.
  4. I can not manage to install Catalina on this legacy Asus machine that runs Mojave fine. When the installer boots up, DiskUtility does not see the internal hard-drives, neither the master SATA one or the the slave, ATA one. I have discussed this already on the Clover section with Slice, he told that some kext seems to have changed from Mojave to Catalina, he told me to use IOReg. Since then, I have postponed my work on Catalina due to the issues regarding the Mojave supplemental updates. I have decided to start a new topic in here, due to visibility reasons and some new turn. The latest version of the dosdude1 patcher for unsupported Macs, discussed on Macrumors forums, patches the installer so that DiskUtility sees the internal hard-drives, I am able to install Catalina but, on first boot, the OS gets into a kernal panic with the message ”still waiting for root device”. I have searched online for this error, I have found Information regarding previous macOS versions with solutions that seem to have little to no relevance for the present issue. Before installation finishes, I receive a message like ”Installation finished on Macintosh HD Data”, instead of ”Installation finished on Macintosh HD”. I admit this split between the two in Catalina still confuses me, perhaps this is how it was suppose to be? Perhaps something that was suppose to end up on Macintosh HD ends in Macintosh HD Data? I admit the DVD-Rom and hard-drives are wired kinda of weird by some guy in a PC service, he said this is the optimum combination, something the ATA hard-drive is slave to the DVD-Rom. Perhaps this causes confusion into Catalina? On Mojave this configuration was fine. Probably the solution suggested by Slice is the best, to replace one or more kext from Catalina with the Mojave versions of them. I do not know yet how to identify and replace them. If any other solutions seem possible, I am open to them. Specs: Asus P5P41TED motherboard. Intel Core 2 Duo E 8500 2 gb ram DDR 3
  5. Hey. I found a repository with modified voodoops2controller kext. Finalized it sysctl and kprinssu and the-darkvoid based on the kext from RehabMan. https://github.com/syscl/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller This kext almost like VoodooPS2Trackpad from acidanthera. https://github.com/acidanthera/VoodooPS2 https://applelife.ru/threads/acidanthera-voodoops2trackpad-dlja-synaptics.2944059/ I attach the compiled version. https://vk.com/doc183234383_514349114 P.S. If you try it, then naturally remove other kexts for the touchpad and keyboard and, first install via KextUtility. If it works fine, then remove it from /S/L/E and throw in /kexts/Other VoodooPS2Controller modified syscl.zip P. P. S. I wanted to upload this archive to the forum in the "Downloads" section to where the cupcakes are located, but I didn't see a button to create a theme there. Also I have there is no opportunity to leave comments. Why? It would be nice if someone moved this kext there, too.
  6. Hi everybody, First this is my first post on this forum so I hope Im creating a topic at the right place Im french, so sorry for my bad english So I recently made a Hackintosh Laptop (on a ROG GL553VD-DM078T ) This laptop is based on a i7 7700HQ and a GTX1050. I installed MacOS Sierra using the Clover bootloader and succesfully installed the kexts needed but one of them is causing trouble. I Broke my internal ethernet Port so I must use a USB-C ethernet dongle in order to acces the internet ( The Integrated Wifi chipset isn't compatible so that's my only way to connect.) Without the UsbInjectAll.kext everything works exept my laptop keyboard wich use USB (yes, the internal ASUS Aura keyboard use USB interface, not PS2 or IC2 ). But if I load the UsbInjectAll kext the keyboard works, but the USB-C ethernet dongle is no more recognized at all ( not even in the system report menu) The weird thing is that if I plug a USB stick in the USB-C port, it works, but the ethernet dongle won't. So now I have 2 options : -or I load the UsbInjectAll kext and I get my keyboard to work -or I disable the UsbInjectAll kext so i can get back my ethernet USB-C dongle to work, but no more keyboard.... Can someone explain why do this happen ? Is there a way to get both The Ethernet dongle and my internal keyboard to work at the same time ? If Needed, I can provide more information about the hardware Used etc. Have a good Day/night
  7. Ciao a tutti! Partizionato in GUID, partizione in Mac OS esteso journaled, tutto ok. Grazie

    Qosmio x505-q896 OSx86

I currently have a Toshiba Qosmio x505-q896 and I wish to run 10.6.3 Snow Leopard and update to 10.7 Lion. I would like to find if anyone could back up which operating system would work best for this? The first install had issues: sound, dvd, usb, internet, firewire (A forum noted to delete the kexts from the operating system before install, any ideas?), ethernet, graphics and wi-fi didn't work (with the 10.6.3 SL install). I was only able to boot with the boot option: -x -v -f acpi= off. PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No UseKernelCache=No I have tried to combine four different builds to come up with my own install, but NO success... I have tried to follow: http://insanelymac.com/forum/topic/258724-toshiba-qosmio-x505-q893-install-wont-work I have used: iB00t Legacy, iB00t Regular, Nawcam Boot, Empire EFI, Chameleon Boot Loader & Mod cd Nawcam ...and the only one that installs and works best is iB00t Regular. Getting Kernal Panic on firewire they say to remove the kexts from the system, but I need need to know where to remove the file. I understand that a systematic build could be needed for this, but I am unaware of where to obtain the build seqence; other than finding someone who can throw me a bone?! I am at an idle of where to go next and what to do?! Has anyone had success with this build? What sequence did you use? Any thoughts...

  10. Caros, Eu instalei o hackintosh iatkos l2. Agradecido,
Retroilluminazione?) 9- Dual boot, come? Grazie a tutti in anticipo! Aspetto risposte!
  12. I'm installing 10.9.4 mac os with my laptop ( alienware m17xr3, 2630QM, GTX 460m ). But after installing it was a black screen, I learn and have a few suggestions that I should install kext vga (namely nvidia) of 10.9.2. But I can not find it, so I made this topic to ask someone can share it to me. Thank you

  14. Hi Forum, Basically I have spare computer which is a HP Pavilion t124a and I'm thinking of possibly turning it into a hackintosh. I do not know which type of distro of either 10.5 of 10.4 I should use. I have had success with the iPC 10.5.6 Public Beta, well... I mean I was able to boot the Install disk straight up from the Disk Drive without using a 'booter' (##### etc). The problem is... is that I don't know what kexts to use. I kinda based the kexts on what my computer hardware has, then I install it then come to the Darwin/x86 screen (Asking me to press any key to continue or to press F8 for boot flags) I choose the Boot flag option and type -f and -v as iPC recommends to. It then starts up with Apple Logo then loads the kexts for about 30 seconds then It loads up the first time set up then has a kernel Panic when I was up to putting my Registration Information in. while in -v mode it does come up with errors regarding com.superhai.GenericCPUPowerManagement or something like that. I don't know what kexts to use with this machine If possible, could someone tell me what kexts I use from my system ( My System Specs are... - 2.53GHz Intel Pentium 4 - 1GB RAM PC2700 (2x512 DIMM) DDR - Samsung SV076AH 60GB IDE - HP cd-writer/dvd-rom combo drive (I'm writing like a noob) - Gigabyte Geforce 6500 256MB AGP - Intel ICH4 Chipset - Realtek ALC650 Audio (AC'97) - Realtek RTL8101L I want know what kexts I should use regarding to the... - Kernel - Video Drivers (The motherboard uses AGP, do have the AGPGart 2.7.1 along with the NVinject 256MB or either one. OS X detects the Graphics card is on AGP thanks to AGPGart 2.7.1, but need drivers for the Geforce 6500/6200LE!!! - Power Management (GenericCPUPowerManagement by superhai wasa giving me a Kernal Panic) - Fixes and Patches - DSDT Patches (Which one do I choose that works?) - AppleSMBIOS (Do I need one? If I do, which one best works for my system) - Alternate Bootloaders (Do I need one? If I do, which one best works for my system) Thanks.

  16. Hello all. I have tried for DAYS now to get this working, it's an i5 Lenovo T410, and I did the BIOS whitelist, installed what I needed and everything is working flawlessly EXCEPT audio. I have installed many different flavors of AppleHDA, tried VooDooHDA (Not an option, KP every time) and I simply cannot figure this one out. I'm one of those types that if I'm reaching out for tech support, you can know I've tried everything. I even did a codec dump from Ububtu Live USB key, so I am really stuck and this is for a friend i NEED to get this done cause it's been WAY too long. So here is a zip of everything. The DSDT raw and the one I tried edited. The DarwinDumper info. and the AppleHDA, HDAEnabler, and a screen cap from DPCIManager which shows it is a Conexant CX20585 with Codec ID 0x14F15069. Anyone who can help me figure this out I would be most appreciative, thanks in advance. iKahuna The files are here and thanks again to the guru that solves this conundrum,.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/qv8lrtoivjs8br5/T410-Audio-Help-iKahuna.zip
  17. Hello I have just install Mountain Lion on my Dell Insprion 530 and Everything is fine...Apart from the graphics I dont know much about the Graphics Card i actually got it out of a old HP Pavilion a-series and i remember what it said on hp's site and it said it was a Radeon x1650 and so i loaded windows it said its a Radeon x1600 and im not too sure what it is and the only thing i know is that on the Graphics card itself it has a Sticker saying "Griffon 512" I googled and it said a Radeon x1650SE or x1600 but i do know for sure that its a 512mb PCI-E x16 Graphics card. I just need a kext so i can get it to work on Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Thanks!! Screenshot.tiff
  18. I updated to Mountain Lion and my D-Link DB-120 Bluetooth dongle has been working intermittently. It was working at first, then stopped. Then started working again - now not. I think the changes are to do with the way I've been loading kexts. I was experimenting with the Lion bluetooth kexts in an attempt to fix things. Now I've moved all my kexts to S/L/E and rebuilt the kernel cache. I'm using the Mountain Lion bluetooth kexts. The Bluetooth dongle is not properly recognised: Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 4.1.7f2 12718 Hardware Settings: Address: 00-13-46-11-6E-8F Manufacturer: Cambridge Silicon Radio Name: xxx's Mac Pro Firmware Version: 525 Bluetooth Power: On Discoverable: Off Connectable: Yes Remote wake: On Vendor ID: 0x0A12 Product ID: 0x0001 HCI Version: 0x1 HCI Revision: 0x20D LMP Version: 0x1 LMP Subversion: 0x20D Device Type (Major): Miscellaneous Device Type (Complete): Miscellaneous Composite Class Of Device: 0x0000 Device Class (Major): 0x00 Device Class (Minor): 0x00 Service Class: 0x00 If I use the Lion bluetooth kexts, the dongle is recognised correctly. But when I do sudo kextcache -prelinked-kernel to rebuild the kernel cache, there is an error with the AppleHIDMouse kext, and I guess this is why my Magic Mouse is not detected. There is also an error if I use the Lion AppleHIDMouse.kext Any suggestions? Other people seem to have this dongle working in ML OK... Thanks.
  19. Hi. These days I've installed my first hackintosh on an Acer Aspire 5742G-384G32Mnkk. I tried to follow various tutorials around the web but I haven't already found a way to use this video card on my system. Is there a way to get it work? Notes: - I use Clover as my default bootloader - Mavericks detects correctly my card on System Information as 0x68E4 (but it's not present on AMD* kexts) - System Information detects correctly my card model (ATI Radeon HD 6370M Series) but it says that I have only 4MB of VRAM (my card have 512MB of dedicated memory) - On verbose boot, OS X detects that I have the following cards: Controller: Intel PCH (vendor ID: 8086, device ID: 3b56) Controller: ATI (Unknown) (vendor ID: 1002, device ID: aa68) - I don't know how to build a custom EDID, Framebuffer Thanks for your support!

  22. Maybe this isn't a topic for the New Users Lounge, but the thing is that I am a new user to this matter and I also CAN'T create a new topic in the developer section. So here it goes. I am trying to build a driver for my USB Wireless Card (TP-Link TL-WN722N) which isn't supported in Mac. I also found it very commented around some other websites, mainly asking for a supporting kext, then I made my mind. The 1srt question should be simple: What kind of project should I build in Xcode? One using IOKit framework (user space) or one using Kernel framework (kernel space)? I have been having troubles to get the basics fully working maybe because I am using the wrong start.
  23. I just installed iATKOS ML2 using standard settings for these specifications, but I have no idea on which to choose. Moreover, some hardware components do not have drivers from the iATKOS installer, so I still need to download them (esp. for Intel HD Graphics). I was wondering which to check when installing, what kexts to install, and how to install them. I already checked a lot of forums and it seems this laptop is quite rare (since it's made in the Philippines), therefore the drivers should be downloaded manually. Here are the specifications: General: Intel Core i3 Processor 370M 2.4GHz, 3MB Smart Cache Genuine Windows 7 Professional 14.0" LED Backlit, 1366*768 (16:9) Mobile Intel Express HM55 More specific: Intel Core i3 Processor 370M 2.4GHz, 3MB Smart Cache 2GB DDR3 (2 x SO-DIMM slot) Support up to 4GB with dual channel Chipset Mobile Intel Express HM55 Intel HD Graphics 160GB 7200 RPM SATA Super Multi DVD-RW Realtek HD Audio LAN Wireless 802.11 B/G/N 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Display 14.0 LED Backlit, 1366*768 (16:9) Keyboard US Standard Supported I/O Ports Mic-in x1, Headphone-out x1, RJ-45 x1, USB 2.0 x2, DC-in x1, USB & eSATA Combo port x1, HDMI port x1, VGA (15Pin) x1 Card Reader 4-in-1 (SD/XD/MS/MS Pro) Attached is the screenshot of the verbose boot of the OS. P.S. - I found a forum topic where Intel HD Graphics worked. http://www.insanelym...ds-success-108/ I just don't know how to install the kext. Hope someone helps. Thanks a lot! I'll keep researching about this for now.

Agradeco alguma ajuda...
