Everything works fine but I get kernel panic on Log out. BSD process name corresponding to current thread: lunchcd. After restarting my PC, when counting finish one more kernel panic BSD process name corresponding to current thread: lunchhd. How to resolve.

Tried boot with -v and get kernel panic :

Panic (cpu 0 caller 0x001dd2E2): "vnode_ref_ext: vp 0x81da9eo has no valid reference 0,0 "@/users/andyvand/Dowloads/kernels/woodobild-0.3.2/xnu-1228.9.59/bsd/vfs/vfs_subr c:1423

No mapping exists for frame pointer 0xb007c918

BSD prosess name corresponding to current thread: mdworker

I've found that the -force64 in com.apple.boot.plist under kernel flags causes kernel panic. But I like to run my AMD 4000+ in 64bit. Is there any solution.

hmm... is that cpu SSE3 capable?

If so it should work just fine... I've tested 64bit capability on a Phenom and it worked just fine....

Too bad if it doesn't work but it is weird that the MetaData worker crashes...

Would need more info on this before I can possibly devise anything...

Works good here too , as earlier releases did.

Thanks

DS

Glad to hear...

Yes that cpu is SSE3 capable. It's Athlon64 x2 4000+. As I say everything goes fine 'till I wont Log out. I get kernel panic and after restart too. On every kernel panic something different crashes, like ...lunchcd, ...lunchhd.

So you have full 64bit capability which works untill you log out / restart / shut down.

And every time it is launchd / mdworker related?

What kind of distro & config are you running?

Did you try incorporating my decrypts? (just an idea... can also be related to mds, which is encrypted...)

Like I said... need more info unfortunetely...

When booting with this kernel instead of the normal vanilla kernel I get the following crash when I try to start Civilization 4 - all other apps until now work just fine:

This happens with your modified dyld files and the vanilla ones. If I reboot with a vanilla kernel, the game oots just fine. Any ideas ?

Hmm... weird...

I wouldn't know why... I fixed all up with the new kernel (I thought).

It happens at dylinker init though not anymore at mapping of the symbols...

Try installing the AMD version of my decrypts... maybe that helps...

Would somebody please post a v1.4 AnV XNU kernel release in a regular zip or another file format that you can decompress if you double click on the archive out of the box on OS X? I cannot decompress sitx files, because apparently StuffIt Expander crashes when I try to.

BTW, this is my first post here.

Remove the .zip from the file extension. That'll fix it.

Hi Andy,

can you give me some information about Hnak RTC fix and AppleIntelClock RTC driver. What are there and what is it for ?

Also about a user that said that owners of Intel Core CPU can boot vanilla kernel : it's false.

I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 Intel CPU but with an nForce 630i chipset and i can't boot vanilla kernel without KP.

Hnak's RTC fix is for better tsc sync...

Old AppleIntelClock driver is for legacy RTC support (doesn't work on most modern PC's).

Hi Andy

"Old AppleIntelClock driver is for legacy RTC support (doesn't work on most modern PC's)."

In that case is this useful for old amd machines like k8? (without hpet?)

Cheers,

Hi,

what do you think about this KP with the last 1.4 AnV XNU Kernel

post-280535-1238108515_thumb.jpg

Thanks in advance for your help

Seems to be related to the IOUSBHID driver or IOUSBFamily...

Try another version of those, that should fix it.

It might but I've never know this to work on any AMD... (Tested it on my friends AMD Athlon64 stepping N3 with old MSI mobo... no luck).

Hi Andy

kp on installing full package on retailish 10.5.6. Seems to be related to appleacpiplatform. Can boot -x. I'm now restoring the original kext. Hope nothing wrong will happen.(edit: all ok now)

One other thing ... your bootloader does not load plist-only kexts...

Decrypted binaries run great ! Thanks !

Configuration bellow.

works only with the -f flag (or -x ...) macinfo not working, had to use a smbiosresolver.

If you can only boot with -f try forcefully rebuilding your extensions cache with the following command under Terminal:

sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions

I've known one case where the Extensions.mkext was corrupt and even removing it wouldn't fix it...

The above however did...

As for Mac info... use my SMBIOS instead of a resolver...

It works better and even sets the BIOS info of a real Mac...

Hope this helps you, let me know...
