what about somebody with a real powerbook (say a 1.5 g4)? i would be very interested to see those results.

 

I got 39.08 on my 1.5ghz Powerbook G4 (5,6)

 

Have a look at these scores - I increased it to 53 and got 233 for the disk test!

 

Is using a RAM disk cheating? :)

my c2d e6600 oced to 3.24ghz is lidling at 60 C per temperature monitor. I am running 10.4.8 with sem's beta 8 kernel. I have a Zalman heatisnk... anyone care to share your temp monitor idle results?? It seems to read high compared to windows temperature monitoring utilities. People say the c2d should idle at 50C, even when oced. I put on very little AS grease when I installed the heatsink. just pulled it and about 1/3 of the HS didn't have any gease residue, indicating poor contact. I added grease and reinstalled the HS, but I am still idling at 60 C! Is temp monitor inaccurate?? What is your expereience?

Focus5D: any trick to getting your bus speed that high? I found I had to manually set my SPD timings to get past 375mhz FSB, but my P5B isn't stable beyond 405mhz. Any other tricks you know of? What Vcore and Vfsb are you running? Also, my machine was prime 95 stable under windows at 395mhz FSB, but in OS X handbrake would unexpectedly quit well into an encode, it wouldn't KP or crash the system, but after clocking back down to 360mhz FSB or sho it would finish the encode, so obviously it got just a little too hot... any similar expereinces?riht nwt i stable at 72 C full load, at 375mhz bus

thanks, i realize that, but is temperature monitor accurate? maybe temp monitor reads 10 C high? before buying another drive to install windows, i wan't to compare tempswith other ox86 users using temp monitor. i have already reseated my heatsink once, so i am begining to think its temp monitor giving high readings...

 

EDIT: ok, I reoriented the HS 90 degrees. The 7700 has a universal mount with a clip, rather than the LGA775 4-point system. after running handbrake for 10 minutes, my temp is 65 C. what scares me though is my SMART temp is 27 C, which means this just may be the result of a lower ambient temperature (heat was off last night). So no clear answer yet...
