Remove the chain0 line from your boot.ini.

Then set your OSX partition active and reveal the OSX (Darwin) bootloader: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=201048

Thanks for your help bro. Got it booted.

Any good topics, to get network working?

I have Lan: Intel® PRO/100 VE

And wireless lan: Atheros AR5006EX

well i got os x to install and dual boot, but the problem is my mouse or keyboard wont work in OS X. I got a HP and Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard they wont work. So i hooked up a old acer keyboard and a ps/2 mouse and still didnt work.. any help?

:D

Huray! Add me to your counter of success!

:tomato:

Let give all my experience of dual boot setup

First i installed windows xp media center edition then installed Acronis Disk Director Suite 10 and started booting with Mac OS X x86 10.4.6 install DVD and it worked like breeze but when i select unknown operating system in the OS Selector it gave error "HFS+Partition Error".

So what i did is selected the unkown operating Option and renamed it to Mac OS X x86 and right clicked it and converted it to primary partition.

Then other problem i faced was when i clicked the Mac OS X x86 option it went to Windows OS.

So right cliked on the Mac OS X x86 option and choosed properties and then selected appropriate partition and made it active.

It worked like a breeze.

One more thing please try to get deep into OS Selector and try wiht its resolution like 1024x768 and full screen mode it looks clean and professional while selecting OSes.

This tutorial helped a lot which made me to become a member in this forum for the sake of replying to this thread.

 Great Hats!

:D

My System Config:

Intel Pentium IV 3.06 GHZ Dual Processor

512 MB DDR RAM

GBF865 Intel Original Mother Board

80 GB SATA Segate Hard Disk

LG CD RW Drive

LG DVD RW Drive

Ethernet Network Card

While I read about the first ten pages of this, I'm not gonna read the other 48 lol.

i have a Dell Latitude 110L, which has the Intel Pentium M Processor in it...the dvd goes through the whole Darwin boot, but no installer pops up, just a blue screen, no mouse cursor, no nothin.

Well, if you had read the other 48, you would have found your answer.

Connect an external monitor or plug a VGA dongle into the VGA port or try the 2-wire trick: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?ac...ost&id=1522

Well, if you had read the other 48, you would have found your answer.
And also, each thread has its own search; searching for "dell latitude" will have contained the desired answer.

But in a few days, the present posts and answers will be buried behind newer pages and the same questions will be asked over and over again. :robot::fiery::)

Add one more success to your counter! Last night I used this method, the 10.4.7 JaS ISO and Disk Director to get OSX running on my machine.

At first I was messing around with trying to get it to install to a partition on my primary RAID drives, which Windows boot off of, but after a little frusturation with that, installed OSX to a secondary hard drive, set that partition active as well, and it all worked like it should!

PC specs are:

Intel P4 3.2

ASUS P4C800 E-DLX

1GB DDR

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

Sound works fine in the install, and processes seem to run reasonably well. Off to play with it more now! Thanks!

OK. Tried the wire trick, no go. Will try the external monitor in a bit. This is starting to get frustrating!

**EDIT**

OK... Got to the installer, installing. Now... this is a laptop. I want to use the LCD on it. I can't lug around a 40-50lb monitor everywhere I go. What can I do to get it to run the LCD? ;) :censored2: :compress:

Hi, assuming your keyboard and mouse are USB, use a USB - PS2 converter and plug them into the PS2 socket. That's how mine works.

Good Luck

Win XP | Vista | OS X | Solaris 10 | SkyOS Multiboot with Acronis OSS

just forgot to install disk director suite first.

now i got the MAC OSX running, but there is no way to boot from windows XP

any idea?

Two ways (of many):

1) Make the Windows partition active, boot into Windows and install Disk Director. You can use any Windows/Linux disk/partition utility to make the Windows partition active, or you can use Fdisk built into OSX: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=22844

2) Instead of using Disk Director, you can use the bootloader built into OSX. Not as pretty, but works fine.

Boot into OSX and: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=188186

Tried the two wire bit, no dice. I don't have a vga dongle handy. Know where I could snag one for low price? I mean also, is there a way from within OS X to disable this {censored}? I mean having to keep a damned dongle on the laptop is as stupid as it is ridiculous.

I need this thing to be MOBILE. Not tied down to a monitor, whether by dongle or actual monitor.

I followed this guide, and did the 2 pin VGA mod and i got OSx86 10.4.7 Jas to run on my Dell B130 :-D

And of course the Sigma 9200 sound isnt working, and the Intel 2200 wireless isnt working. In the process of getting a usb soundcard and wireless adapter.

On another note.....

I also tried to install this OSx86 on my AMD Opteron 170 dual core but the DVD would not boot up. It would have some error about not finding a driver for the ACPI and pops up a "Hold you button down to restart" message.

Anyone know how this can be resolved?

Okay no luck for me so far....

My System:

AMD 64 3500+

1GB DDR400 RAM

Radeon X850XT

ASUS SLI-Deluxe Motherboard (nforce4)

160GB WD HDD

I followed the instructions down to a tea and the most I've gotten is Booting into OSX (for the first time setup) then my keyboard doesn't work and it sometime freezes or does this weird reset thingy (goes to blank screen then back to Start first time setup screen.

Can anyone help me I'm annoyed at this!

Oh by the way I used "Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack"

And there’s no way in hell I'm going to download another version. 2.9GB on 512K is a nightmare!

If you know how to get it working it would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah I had the same sort of problem. You need to use a PS/2 keyboard and mouse for the installer to work. Also turn off any ACPI stuff in the BIOS as well as things like integrated networking and sound and enable them one by one until you get the system working. Hope this helps. Also unplug and USB devices hooked up as this freezes the JaS installer.

I am using a PS2 keyboard. It only freezes once the first time it gets in.

The keyboard doesn't work during the first setup once installed (the .dot mac setup register thing)

My keyboard works during the Install (using Tab etc)

Where do I get the bootloader? It says if your having trouble try the Darwin Bootloader.

Well I might as well give it a go otherwise I'm just wasting time

Yeah, that is a little weird. Are you using Acronis? It's slow and combersome but at least it works flawlessly (for me anyway). You may have incompatible hardware. Check the OSx86 wiki for a list of compatible hardware, or semi-compatible hardware.

I never tried using the Darwin bootloader, although there are instructions in the forums on how to do this.
