Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Be sure the master/slave settings are using jumpers, not cable select. Disconnect all other drives and USB devices (except keyboard/mouse) temporarily. Check for the latest firmware for your DVD drive. cody21
I can't seem to get my audio working, I'm following this guide http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Audio I'm confused at step 8. I took a screenshot of my sound settings http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/3103/u1111ntitledok6.jpg my device id is 0007 and my vendor ID is 1102. So according to step 8 I have to type in 0x0071102. ACC0RD22
there will be a long list of "other ids." basically look down the list until you see a list of numbers that look similar to the one that your going to enter, and throw yours on at the end. I had that problem too, no sound sucks. elduran
I tried the hotiso version, i burned it in a mac, and boot with the DVD in an "Inspiron 1100" celeron 2.4 Ghz, chipset 845GL, 256 ram, partition 10 Gb, grey screen shows up, then grey screen, and letters white, very hard to read, never get the blue screen, i select SS2 patch and continue with the install proccess, following the guide i finish my installation without problems, then computer reboot go to Os selector, i choose my osx system, starts boot, grey screen with apple, then grey screen with cursor, and stop there, i can move cursor, but there is nothing to select, i have connected a monitor to vga port without luck, i reboot in winxp mode, via osx selector and everything works fine, any idea?, thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11339-howto-xp-osx-1044-1048-native-dual-boot/page/52/#findComment-218352 Share on other sites
.zolder
Hi, thanks for the tutorial, I followed it (including the addition of the AMD-patches provided in the ISO I got, which is called "Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack") and using chain0, I succesfully managed to make a multi-boot system.I do have a problem concerning macosx though.. I only see gibberish. when booting, i see this. When fully booted I see this (notice the intact cursor, I even saw the colorful beachball-like spinning cursor once, completely how it should look) Looking at these two screenshots, it looks like an evident GFX-card problem, but the card I'm using should work! I'll post a list of my hardware with links to posts of people claiming success using that specific hardware: MSI Neo2 Athlon64 3200+ Winchester ATI Radeon 9800pro Has anyone got an idea of what I should do? I now installed the 10.4.6 JaS version and i can succesfully boot into OSX, so i guess you can add me to your success charts. keyboard and sound still doesnt work but i noticed i'm not alone in this. now to find out how to fix those issues.. Wybl
Thanks for the guide though I can't get OSX fully loaded. After clicking it in the OSselector I get the grey apple loading screen and after that a blue screen with only a cursor. I've seen someone else in this thread with the same issue though nobody seemed to reply to it. Maybe someone can enlighten me about this issue? Rammjet
I get the grey apple loading screen and after that a blue screen with only a cursor. If you have a laptop with Intel 9xx graphics, attach something to the VGA port: a monitor, a VGA dongle. the 2-wire trick ( http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?ac...ost&id=1522 ) or the 1-wire trick ( http://forum.insanelymac.com/uploads/post-...-1160846022.gif ) Otherwise, please share your configuration and OSX version for more help. conanswimfast
Add one to the counter baby! Works Perfectly. Specs~ AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 512mb L2 cache 1GB DDR2 RAM Radeon X1600 Video Card Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe MoBo Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet Controller The only thing that doesn't work as it should is itunes 6 and 7. Im using VLC. Less resource useage anyway. I also changed the way i booted. I used Damn Small Linux and cfdisk to make my windows pardition bootable instead of my osx then i used the chain0 method. If anyone else wants to know about cfdisk email me. I feel its a lot easier to do it that way, and its free too! WAYNE! Propel
Hi, I'm trying to set up Mac OS X on my PC. All I want to do is use one program that is for Mac, but I can't seem to get any emulators working, even though I've installed OS X on disc images. So I thought I would try installing Mac instead. Well, this is turning out to be a headache too. I honestly don't know much about my computers hardware, since I didn't build it, but I can post what I got from CPU-Z Processor Name: Intel Celeron 335 2.8 GHz Processor Package: Scoket 478 mPGA Processor Technology: 90nm Processor Instructions: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 Motherboard Chipset: Intel i845G Motherboard Southbridge: Intel 82801DB (ICH4) BIOS Version: SR8510A.46T.0014.P06.0410050243 RAM: 768MB DDR Anyways, I'm having a problem when installing Mac. It gives me this error. EBIOS Read Error: Error 0x30 Block 49176 Sectors 64 Then, it shows the gray screen with an apple, then it shows a list of text. Then it says: Debugger Called <Double Panic> And it keeps saying that over and over again. I have tried both the MacOSX_10.4.4DVDPATCHED_Myz.iso disc, and the MacOSX_10.4.6_GoatsecxDVD.iso disc. Does anyone know the problem? If you need any more information, I'll post it. I appreciate the help. dougie187
I have gotten mine to work good. I have a triple boot system, used the JAS Osx 10.4.7 image. I have a toshiba satellite r10. 2ghz, 1gig of ram, 80gig hdd, tablet. I just got it installed and the wireless isnt working, though it wont work since there are no drivers for it. Ill just wait and see if someone makes them and until then I will just use hardline. Next I might try to get my tablet to work in it. Im using Win Xp Tablet Edition, Ubuntu 6.10, and Mac Osx. Worked great to install and am using grub as the boot loader. (see here.... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=2806) Only cross out the ones that are relevant for you otherwise leave them blank!!!! (you did check the 'ati' one, and that is right, but make sure all the others you check are appropriate for your machine) After I did this I got things going pretty well.... I used the same ISO as you, so I'm guessing we have experienced the same problem. Haven't however got my keyboard, wireless or cabel network cards or audio card to work yet. It's possible to use usb keyboard though. Surprisingly enough Bluetooth works perfectly!!! Your PC HDD has some non-standard, non-NTFS and non-FAT32 partition which may be hidden so you cannot see it. If you are using Dell, it canbe their Media Direct partition which can be erased with Hitachi Ftool. If it is something else, there is still unknown partition which Darwin cannot identify.
