Hi Kabyl, BitRIP, DocShadow, iPhoneTom,

I have BioStar TPower I45

BIOS - http://download.biostar.com.tw/upload/Bios/P45AA710.BSP

I tried to follow http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...;p=804822

...

Changed BSP to ROM ... MMTool 3.19Mod worked fine.. gave me info abt the ROM version

Extracted 1B to SingleLink.dat

Using WinHex and opened the file SingleLink.dat

Searched for "DSDT" .. but I have only one instance of this and hex string 57 41 4B 68 2E nowhere to be found.  :(

Could someone plz check on this BIOS ?

Thanks a ton.  ^_^

For those who are using P5Q Deluxe, here is the modded version for 1201.

So, I've been reading and I've been searching through this whole OSX86 for my new P5Q deluxe rig I just built. I just downloaded the 1201 modded bios and I was unable to restart the computer at all. In fact, I had to switch the bios chips around and when it rebooted, the bios told me that it had to replace the corrupted bios (the modded one above) with the backup bios on the second chip.

Any ideas why mine became corrupted? I had Vista installed on the 1201 bios (AHCI) no problems before installing the modded bios. If it matters, I used the EZ Flash 2 utility included in the bios to flash.

Thanks all for the help! Looking forward to OSX on my new PC!

I think KayKayK, who modded this rom, made a little mistake somewhere because the checksums are not same compared to original.

But 28 people downloaded his mod and didn't hear complains about it, so it probably work for most?

Anyway, I made a new mod that you can try.

Good Luck.

OK... I thought I was installing it :P

Now I keep getting errors (right after the installer verifies the installation dvd) like this:

The Installer could no create the folder "/Volumes/Untitled/BaseSystem.pkg.151Jsmdrm" (the last part in bold keeps changing).

Any ideas?

EDIT: I've got the OS installed and working. Now I just need to figure out how to install my network and audio, etc!

Hello BiTRiP

Can you please modify ASUS P5Q PRO bios here: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket...US-PRO-1004.zip

Is there any release with newer Intel motherboards in mind?

Motherboard: ASUS P5Q PRO (no not Deluxe)

Chipset: Intel P45 + ICH10

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 3.2Ghz

RAM: 2 x 2Gb 1066 Mhz

Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 Mb ddr3 Pci-Ex

Audio: ALC1200

Whatever release I tried it didnt work. I got into mac without fancy graphics, no sound, no network, basically a safeboot with nothing.

Tried plethora of modified kexts without success.

Hi Peeps,

I had no problems at all do boot the kalway image on my MSI P45 NEO-F motherbord. This board also uses the P45 chipset and ICH10 southbridge.

I can only install on my IDE disk drives, the sata drives are not recognized. I will report later how the rest works out. Does anyone has an idea how I can install it on my satadisk?

I tries Leo4all v3, iATKOS v4, Kalyway 10.5.1-2, sad to say I dont know how to use that boot 132 method tho.

My bios is set correctly.

Furthest I got was inside mac and all, but failed to install any kext that is suppose to be for ALC1200 audio, ICH10 and didnt find Intel 45 one, nor Nvidia 8800GT worked with NVinject 512 (no clue why).

I installed the Kalway image on my IDE hard disk but I can't boot the system after installation. It always gets stuck at this line:'Using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers' no matter what kernel I use.

Does this mean I also need a modified bios?

EDIT:

Since I really want mac os x to boot on my pc, I started trying to modify my bios.

I found this in the DSL:

Scope (_PR)

{

Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {}

Alias (P001, CPU1)

Processor (P002, 0x02, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}

Alias (P002, CPU2)

Processor (P003, 0x03, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}

Alias (P003, CPU3)

Processor (P004, 0x04, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}

Alias (P004, CPU4)

}

I removed the Alias lines, and now I have this:

Scope (_PR)

{

Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {}

Processor (P002, 0x02, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}

Processor (P003, 0x03, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}

Processor (P004, 0x04, 0x00000000, 0x00) {}

}

Then I compiled the source so now I have a HEX file and it looks like this:

/*

* Intel ACPI Component Architecture

* ASL Optimizing Compiler version 20080729 [Jul 29 2008]

* Copyright © 2000 - 2008 Intel Corporation

unsigned char AmlCode[] =

0x41,0x37,0x35,0x31,0x39,0x32,0x30,0x30, /* 00000010 "A7519200" */

0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x49,0x4E,0x54,0x4C, /* 00000018 "....INTL" */

0x29,0x07,0x08,0x20,0x10,0x39,0x5F,0x50, /* 00000020 ").. .9_P" */

0x52,0x5F,0x5B,0x83,0x0B,0x50,0x30,0x30, /* 00000028 "R_[..P00" */

0x31,0x01,0x10,0x08,0x00,0x00,0x06,0x5B, /* 00000030 "1......[" */

0x83,0x0B,0x50,0x30,0x30,0x32,0x02,0x00, /* 00000038 "..P002.." */

0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x5B,0x83,0x0B,0x50, /* 00000040 "....[..P" */

0x30,0x30,0x33,0x03,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00, /* 00000048 "003....." */

and so on...

My question is, what do I have to do now? I'm kinda stuck. I see 8 values seperated with a comma on each line and I should create a rom file with a hex editor from it but I have no idea how. Should I delete the comentary after each line and save it as a .rom?

Any help is appreciated...

Finally, I gave myself time to patch the IDE thing. Now I can use my IDE DVD drive.

The following kext is from the Leo4Allv2's IOATAFamily.kext :AppleVIAATA.kext.zip

You can place it where it was or just stick it to the "Extensions" folder like me, and change the permissions (chmod, chown).

Just for memory, I installed Leo several weeks ago out of my IDE DVD drive to SATA Hard Disks in AHCI mode. But after the installation, I couldn't access my DVD drive. Not anymore :(.
