ihou
Yes, mine has no Version number. What should we do then? And is this OpenGL framework the reason there is no QE ? Also I don't know if this is reasonable but i have set my video to share 128mb and it says it's only 64mb, while on Tiger 10.4.6 it was showing 128 and i had full QE/CI .. Thanks to everyone that has a part in this tremendous GMA900 issue... Ok if it has no version number then openGL should be your problem get the old OpenGL reinstalled then dl the replacement one from this topic and take the folder"A" out of it and place it into the openGL folder inside of it under versions Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110176-how-to-gma900-with-qe-and-ci-support-on-leopard/page/9/#findComment-962902 Share on other sites
ihou
How do I get the old OpenGL reinstalled ? I can't think of another way than reinstalling the os x again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110176-how-to-gma900-with-qe-and-ci-support-on-leopard/page/9/#findComment-962909 Share on other sites
buridda
Make sure your just putting the folder A into versions not replacing the whole openGL folder that was my problem i was replacing the whole folder like everyone said but your just suppose to put the A folder inside of the openGL replacement folder inside of the original openGL folder thanks god now it works! at last! you're a genius that was the problem.... installing the kexts and replacing just the "A" folder it works without any paperclip, and both QE/CI are enabled the "only" problem now is that the bootime is about 7 minutes.. a disaster!! It takes about 2:30 minutes to get to the completely blue screen, then about 5 minutes to get to the desktop..... I don't think that is normal.... any suggestion? I installed iDeneb 10.5.5 customizing it just a little (I selected: 9.4.0 StageXNU, ICHx fixed, AC97Audio, AppleBC5751, PowerManagement, WI-FI Broadcom) and after that I've just replaced the video card kexts and modified OpenGL.framework as suggested here to get GMA working.... anyone else running iDeneb 10.5.5 along with GMA900? Have you got such a long boot? With Kalyway 10.5.2 the complete boot took about 2 minutes. by the way thanks again to all, pimpinmonkey247, kirtog and lemnisk8 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110176-how-to-gma900-with-qe-and-ci-support-on-leopard/page/9/#findComment-963158 Share on other sites
ihou
Hey how did you fix your OpenGl framework , cause mine is still not showing any version in the profiler... UPDATE: I overwrote the OpneGL.framework with the one from a friend's macbook with Leo 10.5.5 . Then on next reboot i got a messy screen with half grey and lots of artefacts. notting worked. So i booted up windows again , and deleted just the "A" folder in Versions and put there the one from lemnisk8 link. AND VOALA! NOW I HAVE QE/CI WORKING !!! 10x again to everyone involved ! However I do experience some mouse tearing and little artifacts from time to time, and photoshop cs4 is making me some troubles , but after all it's working ! Now we can just wait for some solution for those nasty artefacts... I hope someone expert will help us out here ! Big THANKS ! ihou
I have a very strange problem now, Some of my applications happen to quit unexpectedly.. Even firefox does it sometimes.. I tried repairing my permissions on the os x volume , and I just thought i was lucky when suddenly again another application dumped and quited unexpectedly. Has anyone experienced the same problem and could it be fixed? I am thinking of reinstalling iDeneb and if does it again i will go for XxX 10.4.11 Rev.2 , I heard it worked well with Gma900. Or maybe some other release? CRP
My mac os (iDeneb 10.5.5) boots up on laptop (HP 500 Notebook) in 40-50 seconds and ready to work. All that I did was to place GMA950 kexts and replace whole OpenGl framework folder with permissions repairing. UPDATE And of course it is up to date (with security and iTunes updates), without paperclip trick UPDATE I wanted to see if my laptop has similar hw components to the one you have to understand if it could help me following your instructions as my bootime is too long but I can't find your laptop's specs... can you tell me exactly which model is it? maybe a HP OmniBook 500???? It's not OmniBook, it is Notebook You can find specs here look for RQ260AA#XXX it is my notebook Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110176-how-to-gma900-with-qe-and-ci-support-on-leopard/page/9/#findComment-963919 Share on other sites
buridda
I can just think of a script that should be automatically loaded everytime you startup the system.... maybe you can or ask someone to do that for you, I'm sure you can do that in a very simple way with just a few command lines like the following... but I'm not good at doing scripts sorry... rm -rf /System/Library/Cache/com.apple.LaunchServces-023501.csstore rm -rf /System/Library/Cache/com.apple.LaunchServces-0230.csstore I needed something similar in the past to set my LAN card MAC address automatically at boot time... you can see what I used in the link below... it has nothing to do with your needing and it is more complicated of what yours would be, but just as an example in case you would like to try if you are confident with unix commands..... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=661183 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110176-how-to-gma900-with-qe-and-ci-support-on-leopard/page/9/#findComment-963927 Share on other sites

lemnisk8
@moly82: Boot with -v and check at which point it halts for too long.... u might get a clue to solve ur problem. regarding openGL i think u have to delete the original as it does not allow u to replace... so delete the old s and then put the new 1... hope it helps... cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110176-how-to-gma900-with-qe-and-ci-support-on-leopard/page/9/#findComment-964180 Share on other sites

I don't think so... bye PS: now the GMA900 is properly working, full QE/CI and no paperclip, the only problem is the long boot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110176-how-to-gma900-with-qe-and-ci-support-on-leopard/page/9/#findComment-964362 Share on other sites
