cyclonefr
Ok it's out of topic, but as ive seen on omni's website that a lot of guys complains about the autologin + lack of certain CE/QI effect here i post the workaround : and omni can add it to his FAQ: Autologin + CI/QE twirling effects (under widgets etc..) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) grab a 10.4.4 DVD (best is the official DMG) or someone having already installed it 2) copy /System/Library/Extensions/IO*.* files into a backup directory for exemple : /backup (those IO*.* can be found under some pkg file dont remember which one) 3) open terminal 4) cp -R /backup/IO*.* /System/Library/Extensions/ 5) reboot u should have the autologin working + the twirling effect under the widgets, enjoy

moseschrist
hmmm here's something on for the 7500 users. while trying to get QE working on my card i tried to do what omni wrote on his FAQ, changing the iondrvframebuffer to callistoFB, but that didn't work and the ATIRadeon.kext didn't load, next i tried changing it ATINDRV for the very smart reason that it "looks the same, they both have NDRV in them " i rebooted and my screen was garbeled... unfortunatly i don't really know i f what i did was even on the right path... since i don't have a way to test if i got any good results other the the garbeled screen... sheriffbounce
ATI mobility x1600 ID:71c5 Callisto loading fine! Resolution change ends up in a magenta coloured screen...also with arrowkeys no change back possible enabling QE/CI with CallistoFB in ATIRadeon1000GA.kext is also not possible. cheers
MikeBee
alpha 2 works better on my mobility 9000. kext loads and resolution changes work okay. 1400x1050 results in a big 'tear' vertically down the middle of the screen with a 200pixel gap on the right hand side of the screen. turning it down to 1280x1024 works okay though. good work. thanks! Antman
alpha 0002 works fine here too.. first loads my res was really bad. switched back to alpha0001 and then back to alpha0002 and all is good now. very weird
erikk
does anybody know in which com.apple.* the used resultion is stored? my idea is to write my native resolution there and try to override the frequencys with switchresx. i think thats a way to get widescreen resolutions for people which can not change the resolution without grabbeld screens. for other x1600 user: i get qe / ci to work on my x1600 with callisto driver, edit radeonxxxxga.plugin

lilitz
Working on my x300 (my screen is a TFT from laptop). Sometimes load bad (I think frequency, because I can see my screen flashing a lot) resolution and I have to play changing resolutions until I watch all perfectly (switching from 800x600 to 1024x768 and 1280x800, changing res a couple of tiimes until all works well). this problem may be caused for the defective monitor detection's that omni's talking in his blog? osxgus
i am just trying this right now on an inspiron 6000 with x300 (128mb ram, id 5460) resolution of 1680x1050 not working properly and QE/CI are gone. get the weird fuzz and looks like right part of the screen is just light-blue. for now i am running in 1400x1050, it's the only res that works without turning my laptop into a constant "the knife - silent shout" video please let me know if you get it running with same spex. I am on osx 10.4.4. cheers and cheers to omni for the hard work!

domino
Thanks cyclonefr! for my USB kb, I had to use Ctrl+Win key+F12. I tried to load at login an applescript to set the res to 1600x1200 while setting the Boot.plist to 1280x1024 in hope that the res change will unset the scrambles screen. no good. I'm now currently looking for an applescript that will change the refresh to a different setting and let the driver set the refresh to normal. Will post my finding when/if it works. It's a dirty job....
cyclonefr
domino it's no use, cause the problem comes from the driver sending a bad signal, omni can fix it...u'll see it works 1/4 time so it's independant of the refresh rate either the screen scale. I suggest u to wait for alpha 3 im sure tommorow we will have this fixed

Takuro
mmk: You had the same problem as I did where the login screen never loaded. Have you found a way to bypass it? I see you mentioned somewhere that you managed to get 1024x768 or something with this driver. I'm also noticing something: Omni himself has yet to comment in this thread. Maybe he doesn't want to be bombarded with requests and complaints. Still, I'd like some rough idea of his roadmap.
