  1. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

sorry guys for not replying earlier, had much stress last week... @Nick&Koala: no other tool than Phoenix EDID Tool gave me the right one, believe me! don't care about the error message Phoenix tool gives you about EDID 1.3 version blabla... the EDID is correct! Nick did you already gave me your EDID? lost the overview a lil... if not just it and i'll prepare a complete package with all files you need for the nx9420... if need anything else whats not working on your NB but working on mine just tell me (u r the first nx9420 owner i know having OS X installed beside me...) Koala: i'm really unsure about what could be the issue for you but since i have your EDID - i'll prepare a complete ATI package for u too (after sleeping a lil bit - just came back from the dj-ing @ a club...) QUESTION FOR ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT GOT MOBILITY X1600 WORKING WITH THIS SOLUTION: anybody got a VGA-port instead of DVI for external display? i know the ASUS series have DVI-D (which should be working in OSX) i just realized what MAX could have mentioned saying he needs some testing on the external display... VGA is not working - display stays black while beeing shown as active in OSX using the dual monitor info.plist in ATIinject.kext (thats the standard info.plist inside) looked around a little and already tried CRT1 instead of DFP1 but did not work... anyone got it working or got an idea how to fix this? cheers Sheriff
  2. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

inject-kexts don't work with 10.4.5... you need 8.8.1 kernel Question for you guys not getting internal display working: do u see more than 2 or 3 EDIDs in phoenix tool? phoenix tool is retrieving EDID informations from windows registry and shows EVERY display ever connected to your laptop so for me it's been 5 or 6 EDIDs to try... cheers sheriff
  3. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

no problems here with semthex kernel... just update your kernel guys!
  4. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

@Koala75: here is your ATIinject... i just created the single display-version at first just to make sure that it's working at all... cheers sheriff ATIinject.kext.zip
  5. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

QUESTION GUYS: which info.plist inside of the ATIInject.kext did u use? info.plist or the info2.plist ??? if u only used info.plist please try the other one... solved some problems with other ASUS laptops... as far as remember my previous ASUS laptop u guys have DVI-D external connector, or? the normal info.plist is configured for dual monitor support maybe this also causes some issues... just try info2.plist with ur EDID and rename it to info.plist (deleting the other one... just a thought cheers sheriff
  6. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

since others get it working with ASUS i'm 100% sure that u made something wrong and a black screen with the correct files posted before for me sounds like you used the wrong EDID. please check phoenix tool again... just an example for u guys: when i start phoenix tool it gives me 4 EDIDs from the registry... so if you have problems post the display name phoenix shows + the EDID this makes the search for the issue alot easier... 127 ppl have been downloading the x1600 package i posted and 4 or 5 complained about this method not working...common guys... i'm in the technical support for HP... 95% of all issues are usermistakes and looking on this errorrate i guess it's the same issue... cheers sheriff
  7. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

please post your EDID as you got it from the phoenix tool + your atiinject here so that i can check the data... please also post the name of the display shown in phoenix tool cheers sheriff
  8. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

it's the same here... but to be honest: i dont care...cause after that everything is fine and running perfectly... maybe it's just the card initializing at this moment... cheers sheriff
  9. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

    1.10b..... AppleHDA Patcher - 2006 Taruga v1.10b _______________________________________________________ Codec : Analog Devices AD1981 Vendor Id : 0x11d41981 Subsystem Id : 0x103c309f _______________________________________________________ Beta has this codec de-activated, wait for v1.10 full

last idea (since i don'T have the non-mobility version of x1600) give me your email and I'll send you the 10.4.5 versions of the ati-files already prepared for your card... maybe this works... but please be a lil patient, tomorrow is weekend and I'm constantly on tour DJing so not much time... cheers sheriff
  11. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

okay this method is working with: clean 10.4.8 kernel 8.8.1 JAS DVD install.... just take the ATINDRV.kext and IONDRVSupport.kext i posted before + the ATIinject.kext i create directly for u remove the old ATINDRV.kext and IONDRVSupport.kext from the extensions folder and copy the 3 new files there open terminal cd /system/library rm extensions.kextcache extensions.mkext cd extensions sudo -s enter password chown -R root:wheel ATINDRV.kext IONDRVSupport.kext ATIinject.kext chmod -R 755 ATINDRV.kext IONDRVSupport.kext ATIinject.kext exit open diskutility and repair permissions reboot... sorry guys i'm sick of writing this instructions again and again...they never change so please read the thread before asking no offense but i already offer everybody to create the ATIinject for everybody... and as long as you send me there correct EDID information of your internal display and you follow the steps above the method also works for mobility x1600 cheers and good luck sheriff
  12. goto to your bios and disable FIREWIRE... and feel the magic!!! worked for me...ahhhh and use the NET-PCCard kexts from the PCMCIA-thread in the drivers section i used only the pccard-kext (with memory ranges edited) and pci-kext... cheers sheriff
  13. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

the graphicerror got nothing to do with widescreen... i have a widescreen too as external and i have no boxes at all... also don't think that ATIinject is really the right method for u... i still think that the boris method should work (as long as u connect the tft via a DVI2VGA adapter)
  14. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

do not take the files from the first post... i posted some other kexts some pages later...use these files plus the ATIinject i gave u
  15. ATI Mobility X1600, X1700 and others

question: u got the TFT connected via DVI-D??
