Where is Maxxuss?

Swad

Maxxuss has disappeared. The sites he once updated with patches and materials are either outdated or offline. He has not visited our forum since March 18th. Letters are left unresponsive. It seems the man who was rapidly building his name as one of our time's most notorious hackers is simply gone.

So what happened? There have been several times in the past when he has been dormant or otherwise quiet – in these cases, we haven’t reported on it since it is normal for there to be a lull in the action. Sensationalism is something we try to keep to a minimum.

But this is more than an extended vacation. OS X 10.4.6 has come and gone… yet no word from the once-resident OSx86 hacker. Indeed, others have now taken his place in releasing patches for the new builds.

There are a few possibilities. It’s conceivable (although somewhat unlikely) that he simply decided to leave the hacking of OS X on PCs to others. He also could have been hired by Apple. Or sued. Or jailed.

What’s most surprising is that we have heard nothing in so long. Granted, hiring and arresting are both good reasons to break communications, but the whole situation is somewhat odd. We haven’t even heard anything about his other hacking exploits, like we did when he broke the Skype-Intel collusion.

So wither Maxxuss? Who knows. He is a sterling example of a controversial figure – a Robin Hood loved by many and hated by some.

While the debate about your work rages on, Maxxuss, here’s hoping this article finds you well.

[Digg it!]

if he stops his work then how are we supposed to keep running osx with all the new uppdates? He is an extremely valuable asset. without him i wouldnt have osx on my computer. i cant buy a mac because they are too expensive. most of my PC came from stolen parts from clients i do work for (but actually i steal their ram and CPUs and motherboards and stuff)

was that a sympathy vote through admittance of theft? silly boy :|

Other hackers and crackers will fill this void. If there is a need or a market, someone will step up to the plate.

When it goes to court..

Apple will eventually LOSE and be forced to open up its doors. If darwin can run on PCs, why can't apple license OS X for newer x86s? This is going half way; which is not good enough.

Sorry guys, I loved this sentence, that was the best one ever on this forum.I still cant stop ;)

Anyway, I think Semjaza and Maxxuss are the same.

So Maxxuss, if you are in Europe, we should get together, buy 2 dozens of beers, and get ratarsed.

Think about it and PM me!

Don't forget that Michael Dell is practicly begging Steve to let him put OS X on their Dells. Steve only wants to sell it on Apple certified hardware though. If Steve was to sell OS X for Dells, it could be installed on any computer without the need for Hacks. That's probably why Steve keeps saying no to Dell's offers.

I'm sure Maxxuss is an Apple engineer... how can a guy do that alone? If he was a normal person like us, he would never be able to do so.

It's the same with the idea of Boot Camp. Apple made people patch first, then weeks later they released Boot Camp. They did so just to make people pay attention first, then proved that Apple was always better than others.

You're exactly right on both points... Dell wants OSX, but if it was on a Dell, it could be on anything.

oh wait, it already is :withstupid:

side note, excited to see the new macbooks.

Who/Where exactly are you stealing these components from? Your work place? You complain about owning $11/hour, but you could easily sell these components you steal for lots of $'s...

I don't want to sound hypocritcal, but stealing stuff like that is just plain wrong. Ok, so I have downloaded and installed OSx86, but there is a slight difference. I don't make a hobby of it.

Seriously, I would quit this stealing business of yours while you're still in the clear...

I make $10cdn an hour working for a small computer business fixing computers. The only thing I've ever stolen from work are SATA cables. Only cuz these sata cables are so nice. there the ones with a super small black connector and really flexible wire that snap ultra secure when you plug em in. Do you have superfly Sata cables in your box of stolen {censored}?

Don't you just hate rich kids in expensive cars?

I didn't bother reading the last 7 pages but from what jbjonas said to me, the DMCA shut his site down.

That's funny, because I just checked and his site was up and running.

I own a copy of PowerPC Tiger, but not x86 Tiger. Apple doesn't sell it, but I would buy it.

Unforunately, unless all of us have an Intel Mac that is not run the Mac OS License, then we would all have a License to run it on a Generic PC. This obviously is not happening.

Apple Please sell a Generic x86 for AMD and Pentium 4 processors. This would eliminate us from "stealing your OS."

Free OSes:

Solaris 10

Linux

Retail OSes:

Tiger PowerPC

Windows XP x86

Trial/Beta OSes:

Windows XP x64

Windows Vista x86/x64

Underground OSes:

Tiger x86 (Apple loses more dollars each day as it does not offer this OS retail).

Apple also loses market share each day by not offering atleast a trial or beta problem for Tiger x86.

Apple wake up! The world is starting to pass you by. I just installed Solaris 10 (legally for free) I just installed SUSE Linux (Legally for free)! I just installed a 120 day trial for Windows XP x64 (legally and for free) I am also thinking about running BeOS which just might make a huge come back.

Sincerely,

Goodtime
