Today, Apple released Mac OS X Leopard Build 9A581 9A667(unconfirmed) internally. While Apple has not yet reached the GM goal, they have released an internal "GM candidate build" which could represent the final version of Mac OS X Leopard, if no other issues are found. Apple had expected to declare their upcoming Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Gold Master this week. Gold Master is given the final shipping version of the software which is sent to duplicators for distribution to stores.

Where did that screenshot come from?

Sorry guys, don't have the build myself. That is just the editing of systemversion.plist, in the CoreServices folder on my PowerBook. :P No one actually seems to have this build. Maybe someone with an OiNK account can tell us :)

I have an ADC Select account and this build is most definitely NOT released to developers as of this post. Whether this build is real or not I have no idea, I just know that it has NOT been seeded to developers.

At this point I doubt any releases are going to be seeded to developers until GM is reached.

Many annoying bugs in 9a559, hopefully they sorted them out.

You FSCKer. You can't just "make up" news like that. This site really is going down the {censored}ter.

I think It's time this site was finally removed from my rumors RSS folder. There seem to be credibility issues, as well as that annoying "day-late" smell on all of the news.

No, the build is real, the screenshot is fake. The news is late because I can't post it myself. The news has to be approved of someone. Sometimes it takes a while.

Latest unsubstatiated rumours state that there is an internal 9a667 build at Apple, pending a final GM candidate "real soon now"

Also a note to the people posting news about its appearance/non appearance on various torrent sites:

PLEASE DON'T

it just encourages more nuisance posts which follow the pattern:

zOMG it's on X!!!!

the one on X is a fake!!!

can someone invite me to X PLZZZZ!!!!!!

someone who has the one from X post it to the bay/usenet/rapidshare

anyone got a direct link? bittorrent sux/my isp blocks p2p/my quota won't take it

I'm @ 67.5% with 23.7 kB/s down & 7kB/s up plz seed everyone!!!

If you're considering posting anything that resembles any of the above, please don't, it only creates more work for the moderators in removing your posts.

Didn't Apple need to release the GM this week to make the 26th deadline?

According to what they did with tiger its assumed they needed 2 weeks, but I guess it all depends on how big capacity the dvd-makers need to make enough copies and ship around the world.

Could you send me an invite to X please Hagar? :D

Exciting news!

If it's late, they can always announce it on the 26th and say shipping 2-3 days or whatever.

I knew that screenshot was fake, haven't the latest betas not showed the build number in that screen at all? They only show it in system profiler? The About the finder dialog shows "10.5" in the latest one i have, whatever that is.

EDIT:

about this mac i mean, not about the finder. Why my brain reverted to system 6 this morning is beyond me.

Wrong, they all show the build if you click on that text it changes to show version, build, computer serial. You must be a noob. hehe, no offence.
