Hacked OSx86 Updated to 10.4.3

Swad

We've received reports that the rather creative OSx86 hacking community has created another release, this time to update existing 10.4.1 installations to many of the new features introduced in 10.4.3. Sources indicate that the new security features implemented in 10.4.3 have prevented a full release and that this update is in lieu of that release.

Check out the front page for the full story.

Maybe put in some chilly tunes, and if you smoke, smoke some weed B)

Or second chioce: make a nice cup of coffee and come to irc :)

Anybody else notice that win2osx.net is down?

I also have the torrent for the 10.4.3 TPM Patch, but it looks like all seeders are offline. Connected to 10 leaches though (all at 0%)

wow it looks like apple must have had a lot of faith in the new tpm scheme they came out with cause look how fast they got shut down, didn't happen last time

I still don't think they were pulled down, I believe it is a bandwith issue or something like that.

I thought the main reason that discussions about the TPM e.o. were continued from this board to

win2osx.net because they're servers were run from a location where these supposed legal issues were not a problem?

for the record, there were actual maxxuss files posted in that win2osx thread.

This may have something to do with their rapid departure, couldn't say. Just before they went down, there were 4 people claiming to have the full dev dvd installed and booting using the new maxxuss oah files, which they claim to have patched the DVD with, prior to installation. Others said they installed off a stock dvd and copied/permissioned the oah files on the hard drive after installing.

Though win2osx is down, the maxxuss oah files are still at their link from yesterday (which was not actually on win2osx).

Well, the ones who are succeeding have hardware close to the ADP. Just lopping the patch onto the DVD won't work on AMD systems and/or non-Intel chipsets.

That's what they said about 10.4.1 when it first came out. Then when the SSE2 patch got working AMD64 cpu's were fine. Hopefully it will be the same for 10.4.3 .

yes you should update your kexts and add the Generic ATA and such kexts.

I'm just finishing up my 10.4.3 Install DVD based on Maxxuss' works and I ran a Xbench on it this morning and got 96.7, and that was running on my IDE drive. I have a P4D 2.8Ghz on an Intel 945g mobo. I'll be installing it to my SATA 10K tonight to see if I can top 100.

I patched the dvd from Maxuss' dvd installer patch, and I added another kext compiled for 10.4.3 (for the ATA) by 'MacGirl' .. and my system is slower than 10.4.1. It freezes a little (jumps) when system is accesing to harddrive. Do u kwnow where can I get better kexts?

Thanks!

Wow... I just re-installed with the 10.4.3 Maxxuss-patched DVD, and my system runs WAY better than it did previously with 10.4.1

XBench scores have gone from 48 to 93, and the system boots quicker and feels a bit quicker. Now that I've added the Kext to get my sound back, everything works great. I soo no reason whatsoever to want to go back.

FYI, I'm running a P4 630 (3.0 GHz, 2MB cache, hyperthreading), Gigabyte GA-8I915ME-GL motherboard, WD Raptor 73GB SATA hard drive, 2 x 1GB DDR400 ram. I am very impressed by the performance of this system. It makes my Powerbook G4 1.33 seem very, very slow.

I just got around to doing a fresh install with Maxxuss' anti tpm patch v1 and WOW! I now get a 92.50 on xbench and can use my x600pro.

I am very impressed with the way my system is running.

Anyone know if the new patched 10.4.3 DVD will boot on a Thinkpad R52? I don't want to run vmware so I am stuck on how to go about an install.

Since I upgraded with the user-land patch, the www.win2osx.net site has graphics problems like the colored folders for sections are not displayed, instead there is little blue boxes with an ? inside. Anyone knows how to fix that?

Everything else is fine.

Anyone know if Maxxuss (or anyone else) is working on a patch for 10.4.3 for the PAE issue that doesn't allow a lot of the 10.4.1 machines from installing/running 10.4.3?

Thanks,
