Go to Apple.com. In the 'Search' box at the upper right, type in "virus". Suprisingly, a familiar result comes up. Truth, anyone?

Yeah, instead of proving me wrong (because you can't), just be a smart-ass. Cute.

He is a mac-fanboy....What do expect...

Anyways, this whole Mac OSX being virus-free is such BS...

You know why? Because...Sure the OSX is $120, but you are forced to buy a $1000+ mac, because it doesn't run on anything else...

Hm....$120 + $1000+....Idk, seems a bit pricey for a virus-free experience...

You could save some money and download AVG....And the $1000 instead for a pair of designer jeans, car payment, house payment, fix the leaky roof, put in a pool in your backyard....Sure not all at once, but trust me...There is a lot more things you can put your money in for rather than paying $1000+ just to run a pretty cool virus-free OS....

Well, like we were saying before, you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than getting a virus in Vista, so by all means, get a cheap Dell or something.

However, it's not like OS X isn't worth it. A macbook is by far better than any PC laptop on the market. OS X is such a great portable OS.

But since I'm not a reject and played with Legos when I was a kid, I'll build my own desktop PC, thanks. When it comes to higher-end desktops, Apple is a complete and blatant rip-off.

I never had a virus problem with my Windows XP.ALL my friends did though. You know why? They aren't tech savvy. I'm sure a lot of your friends have/had the same problem.Just because a small percentage of tech savvy people that don't get viruses != the general census on Windows and Virus problems.

And are we forgetting what OS X is based off? A more secure UNIX foundation compared to Windows which never had security in mind until Vista and it's a half ass attempt to cover the legacy code. How did they do that? Cancel or Allow.

I'd agree. I ran my PC laptop for over a year, and never had a single issue with a virus.

I'll third that, I've never had a virus on any of my PCs. I sure have seen allot of PCs with viruses though, but honestly from the way the owners were behaving in them you'd think they seeked out and wanted them. Personal computers and business networks with viruses should have the people in charge slapped in the face for behaving like a drunken back alley romp at 3am in bangkok.

Famous last words :D

That's what we said once. Then one morning we tried to boot up and boy were we surprised :( But other than losing irreplaceable data it all ended up OK. It was after all, the reason we switched to OS X ;) And as hard as it was to get a virus in Tiger, it will be 100 times harder to get one in Leopard, because Leopard uses a new Apple security technology called ASLR which randomly arranges the positions of key data areas. Another reason IMO why OS X is superior to windows, and always will be. Vista is a joke. Only someone who has already paid a lot of money for vista would defend it, because they don't want to look stupid for buying it. Leopard is light years ahead of anything else on the market. A true bargain at 129.00 :D

1. I agree with CLiDE, Vista sucks for everyday use but when I ran it I never ran into a virus. I didn't have any virus program running either.

2. I agree with empreality, Apple is way overpriced. 1000 just for an entry level macbook? a iMac at 1100? a Mac Pro 2499? I could buy 2 notebooks or even 2 computer for that matter or build my own with the same things and have money left over

I love OSX however but I don't agree with OSX never having viruses. No OS is save

1000 just for an entry level macbook?

That may change VERY soon

I don't agree with OSX never having viruses.

Hard to let go of those old notions isn't it? The world is flat. No really... :gun:

1200?

I don't think it'll be very much and I think it will be an increase

if Apple was so worried about Market Share they should come down in price

Well granted it's not a Mac Pro, but the new minis have recieved VERY good reviews aside from their graphics section. So if you're not planning on using it for playing games it's a real bargain, especially when you subtract 130.00 + 80.00 (Leopard and iLife) from the price ;)

You wouldn't have to buy the OS if you bought the hardware, it's bundled. ;)

Exactly! It amazes me that there are so many lonely PC fanboys that hang around Mac sites for the sole reason of whining.
