I'd like to recommend hellanzb, the best usenet period. It does literally everything and all you need to do is drag and drop a .nzb file , it'll queue the rest of it up, download, check pars, unrar it, and dump it into a finished folder ready to use! It'll even decompres flac and several other formats into .wav.

http://www.hellanzb.com/trac/

have a gander, don't be intimated by it's unixness, just setup macports and your ready to go ;o.

excelent list domino

i agree about menumeters

this lil soft is so cool :D

I'd like to suggest someones:

BBEdit (UB): Edit every .plist .xml and texts or configuration files

is very fast usefull with load of options.

Get Here: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/726

Quicksilver: (UB): Find everthing on everywhere on your disk, you can use your spotlight, but i preffer quicksilver, is much fast and best with more options than this one from apple.

Get Here: http://quicksilver.blacktree.com/

Wrangler is almost as good as BBEdit, and it's free. It opens ANYTHING!

After so many good recommendations I would like to add:

Default Folder X - see here: www.stclairsoft.com/DefaultFolderX

... makes pull down menues configurable (=shorter)

And:

SoundSource, freeware: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/freebies/

... you can easily switch between sound sources from the menu bar - very helpful if onboard sound does not work and you have to switch between USB-sources frequentially

I have another project running: Scanning all my paper documents with a semi-prof scanner which is fast and does a good job: about 10000 sheets already scanned. Without haassling around with a real database you can do all that indexing and searching with:

Leap - find it here: http://www.ironicsoftware.com/leap/index.html

very useful Thread

you should check out MacTubes

an app that brings you results of your youTube searches, in thumbnail, just like on the web site itself

it has an inbuilt youtube player which can play & download the video in either FLV or MP4 file format

its like a one stop shop to enjoying your youtube videos

I'm looking for a program to browse fonts. I tried the OSx native one, but it *installed* the fonts, which resulted in a big blowup (there's 12.000 fonts in a folder, some overwrote the OS fonts ;)). Already tried fontPilot, but it crashes (on the count I guess). Anything else?
