Hi Again, yesterday i toally messed up my leo installation on my striker extreme e6600 gtx 8800 computer, everything was working fine, but i was runnin on core solo..i tried to postpatch my installation, and i ve done something wrong for sure, and today i ve installed again leopard.i ve used netroller's guide, but ive excluded the bootfix since i can boot straight after installation, i didnt install marvins amd neither, and i get a workingleopard installation again but with core solo, in my second attempt to enable core duo, y copied mach_toh, and canged apple.boot.plist to point to mac_toh, restarted my system and leopard now recognices it as core 2 duo, but i cant get to work my usb rt2500 wifi card... weird.. my xbench results excluidng disk test are 199 on core duo and 196 on core solo with my 2.4 cpu overclocked to 2.9it's necesary to install marvin amd util? can i install it now that my sytem is running fine? i dont know the purpose for thatdoes anyone know why i cant use my wifi usb? its recognized unders system profiler but it doesnt power up no lights there... what am i doing wrong to update to 10 5 1, i copied the kext from golden folder over my system library extensions. then repaired permissionsthanks all again
did you try that kernel i put in the golden folder? all the others gave me problems with performance, cores and etc....give it a shot and you just need to re-load the drivers for your usb stick, i got the same problem here, i know its easier said then done cuz i havent figured out what kexts it has dependencies with so i can delete then and re-install
Jae-V: works fine no en0 here with final cut studio. I had to remove the Qmaster framework and everything worked. Photoshop works with a different smbios. Does anyone know if dsmos.kext is necessary? I don't have it installed in the extensions. I dont even know what it does.
dont have it here either, no problems so i can do without
i've read all the posts you have written, but now, who can send me via pm, the complete guide to install leopard on my asus striker extreme and 8800 ultra and q6600?? :D tnx all boys!
there are great guides all over this thread, pick one! if you have problems post

Having major internet issues! Usb adapter is acting crappy and my ethernet works for like ten mins then it goes out and i have to reboot! Is there anyway i can ping the connection other than renewing the dhcp lease to get it back working rather than restart? Think im about to shell out some cash on an adapter that works better

Thanks again JaeV

i gave it another chance, i opened your postpatch.sh and a terminal window and did step by step what it was supposed to do, and you were right, maybe last time i forgot to copy your kernel file, now i copied it as mach_jaev :D, and changed boot.plist to point to this file.

Now my sound is working, my usb stick does work again, although i ve to unplug and replug for it to start working, dual core enabled. Everything going smooth thank'ssss :)

the only thing left for me is to update to 10 5 1. but since all is working perfectly now i dont want to mess it up again lol

my xbench scores now boost to 212 points screenshot attached.

which are the advantages of 10 5 1 upgrade?

the other thing is that boot time is so slow, maybe 2 minutes or somthing like that, is there anyway to improve speed? are there any kext that we can remove hehe im sure i will mess my installation again if i digg too much

Yea boot times takes a bit but i've watched it work and thats just the way it loads...its not so bad hey it works!

And there arent really main advantages of the upgrade, if you do install it just make sure you do it with pacifist and exclude those files with the netroller guide...then you just run the post patch again and you should be all set! I screwed up excluding those files so i had to re-install all of my video drivers and etc but im up and running with 10.5.1 and that special kernel from the golden folder..Congrats on your install and lmao@mach_jaev :D

I hope so because I'm having a working LAN (a Linksys Ethernet card) network connection on Leopard but somehow Internet lasts like 10 minutes only.

Well, I just found out that I have the same problem with my Wireless card as well. It's definitly a Leopard problem as they both work fine in Tiger.

I got to reboot everytime to make my internet work again. I tried 2 different types of drivers for my LAN card, and the problem is the same on both.

Does anyone encountered a similar problem with their Leo Install?

hi,

i've got the exact same problem with my rtl8139-nic. after booting, network is fine, but then after maybe 15-20mins, the nic just looses its ip and nothing works anymore. i only tried tiger for a very short time, but i didn't notice anything like this.

until now i've tried all the different drivers i could find for the rtl8139. the stock leopard ones have this problem, the pcgen8139-drivers have it and some others i found didn't work at all. maybe this really is a bug in leopard and not in the drivers after all...

i have the same issues, i was complaining about it yesterday a few posts up lol....its really frustrating....i wish there was some way to repair the connection like in windows....cuz when it does that with my usb adapter i can just pull it out and put it back in and im fine but the speed is much slower

has anyone gotten leo running without flags on one of the msi p6n boards? (sli-fi or sli-platinum) i'm trying to but im having trouble. maybe someone can help me out. i get a kp right when the kernel loads, and no explanation from it.
tried any other kernels? did you postpatch?
I just tried it too, I can confirm that it works. :( Do what objection did and thanks mike!

It works for me too. I now have everything working (including both cores) except SATA write. I installed Final Cut Studio 2 and it works flawlessly but somehow each and every application in Adobe CS 3 Master collection crashes when I press next on the serial number screen. Anybody else had this problem? Any fixes?

Download the adobeCS3antiCrash.zip file from a certain bay. It includes a video that shows you how to patch all of the CS3 files to work and the files necessary. I use Photoshop and Dreamweaver daily after patching them in this way.

I myself have an "eEVGA 122-ck-nf68-a1 lga 775 nvidia nforce 680i sli atx intel" mobo w/ a Sata HD & a 8800 GTS. With this config, what is the specific method needed to sucessuly install 10.4.9/10.4.10?

Thanks

Don't know much about Tiger, honestly. I'm going to say though that you're going to need an IDE Hard Drive or at least a SATA-IDE Converter.

MikeInNs Driver worked for me after UNPLUGGING my computer from the wall (power cable that is) and letting it power down completely (blue LED on motherboard had to go out) then plugging back in and powering up. :thumbsup_anim:

lol you serious? on leopard?....let me go try again

Confirmed! Well I haven't tried without unplugging the cable, but as stated in the original driver thread, some people were having trouble, so I just did it. And it worked perfectly! I'm writing this from my fresh install, in my newly downloaded Opera browser ;-) This is great, no network was one of the things holding me back of actually using osx86.  :thumbsup_anim:

this is for the guys running leopard on 680i out there: what are your boot times like? Couple of weeks ago i fiddled around with tiget but the boot times where too slow and i could'nt change my resolution coz the screen just showed the blue image background. has any of this changed at all? Thanks

Should i stick with my 680i mobo and give osx86 another go?

I boot pretty slow, but its not horrendous. Resolution issues depend entirely on what graphics card you're using, motherboard doesn't much matter.

can somebody answer my 2 questions above? do you guys have any problems with diskarb?

Lets put our head together on an exclusive nforce 680i leopard disc. what do you think?

i think we all get the waiting on diskarb......

still waiting on diskarb...

then it loads it up and it boots for me..takes about a min or two to boot

and im pretty sure we'll b getting a disk soon :)
