I hope they don't do too much to the MBP cause I just got one a couple weeks ago. Oh well, I'm happy with what I have anyways. Anyone think they might give the MB it's own dedicated video card? It's about time they start moving away from integrated graphics.

Oh well, that's what you get for not waiting for Leopard :P Word is there will be all new laptops, a new Mac Pro, and Superdrives will be Blu-Ray compatible :happymac:

Yea, that sounds reasonable to me. Why anybody would buy a computer when a brand new OS is coming in a month or two is beyond me. Is there a reason why apple is supporting Blu-Ray and not HD-DVD?

Is there a reason why apple is supporting Blu-Ray and not HD-DVD?

Reason 1:

Apple is a member of the Blu-Ray Disc Association :D

Reason 2:

Microsoft is a member of the HD-DVD Promotion Group :D

If they touch the mbp's i will stab Steve in the eye. I just bought one recently as well :(

But suppose he stabs back and stabs both your eyes in the process? You won't have {censored} to look at then. Just be careful, I heard that he has a custom iPhone with a built in knife. Very sharp too.

Those reasons are rubbish. No one held a gun to Apples head and forced them to join the Blu-ray group, and they certainly didn't join it just because MS joined the HD camp. Plus you're assuming that MS picked their group first. It's more likely that Apple chose Blu-ray because the specs for Blu-ray are much higher, and Apple has always been about cutting edge high-end.

Blu-Ray is better, duh. :D

I too want a Powerbook 12" replacement for Christmas. It could be just like my iPod touch: from me, to me!

I love those gifts. They're my favorite, cause it's always what you wanted. Not like socks or something completely useless that you'll bust out with and use only when whoever gave it to you comes over.

Both Blu-Ray and DVD will fail while they have DRM so complex almost everybody runs into problems using them. I couldn't really care less which technically wins. I won't buy something I could one day, out of the blue, be unable to play and hand over yet more power over the technology I use every day to big business.
