All works great...but...my finder bar... the bar in the top became a kind of light blue instead of gray...! All is working fine but why that...? Rubyducky Posted January 14, 2009 Share Posted January 14, 2009 You are AMAZING!!! System profiler doesn't actually list support but I have the translucent menu bar so I assume that CI/QE works. Plus I'm driving my 30 inch Cinema Display at full resolution and graphics are very smooth. A few things to note: System: HIS X1950 Pro K9A2 Platinum Athlon 64 X2 5000+ LawlessPPC 10.5.4 for AMD Since there wasn't a 10.5.4 package, I used the 10.5.3 installer. Boot up after the install resulted in what seemed to be a hung blue screen, but the cursor and desktop eventually appeared after a few minutes. Then, my keyboard and mouse did not work, but when I plugged in another keyboard and mouse, the second set work. I ran Repair Permissions in Disk Utility which found A LOT of files (and kexts) with bad permissions. After running the repair a few times, I restarted. Boot up was still slower than before the driver install, but with only a 30 second delay or so instead of a few minutes. This time, keyboard and mouse worked off the bat and everything has been smooth so far! If you have problems, repairing permissions fixed them for me. Once again, you are amazing! I have already a working driver for my card in 10.5.6, in my Kalyway install. but in my retail, I would like to NO MODIFY the system. and in all the drivers I found, there is an OpenGL.Framework file. this one can't be placed in /Extra folder, so I have to put it in Library/framework. the advantage of a retail is to avoid the system modification. moreover, I thinck that frameworks are modified by the Apple Update, so it is not pertinent to di it. it's just to know if some driver exist for this card, without modifying the system... pinchio Posted January 27, 2009 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Tried to run WOW but got a blue screen on game start. Only way to get out of it was to reboot. I figured it was something to do with OpenGL. I rebooted with -x -f and now I get blue screen on boot all the time. Only way to get around blue screen is to boot into safe mode. So... I removed all the kexts included in the 10.5.6 package from Bronya. This allowed me to boot normally but obviously with only 1024x768 resolution... basically back to where I was when I first installed Bronya's package. So... I used OSX86 tools to install Bronya's kexts. Rebooted but only to find blue screen again. Any suggestions? I've got the x1950 pro. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

iftifn Posted February 5, 2009 Share Posted February 5, 2009 I know this is offtopic, but can some1 port this for the x1700 card? id=71d5 I'm here for a long time, and no progress on x1700 card... i'm runing leo 10.5.6 qith native 9.6 kernel i'll be wery thankfull for that work p.s. till combo 10.5.6 i have full qe/ci and resolution working with old natit and modified ATIRadeonX1000.kext after combo i have dark screen with any natit, old or new, or ATIinject thanks in advance same date, about 15hrs grinvich new: i have modified 10.5.6 ATIRadeonX1000.kext and managed to get Qe/Ci, but without card identification, that means i have artifacts and no resolution.. as so far - Qe/Ci driver for ATI X1x00 series is ATIRadeonX1000.kext - and it works with all this series, even without other driver modifications. natit - display and card identification. i can make new natit to identify my card as some ither one - ATY Wormy, for example, but then i get dark screen - maybe problem in output parametres/destination, such as EDID. but old methods to set EDID doesnt correspond with 9 efi boot loader or something like this, cause this parametres are just ignored. Just a little thing: After waking up of sleep mode theres a flashing ati graphic card symbol in red with a plug! Read about this in the topic but found no resolution yet! The Problem of flashing ATI logo occur after resume form sleep...The driver resume correctly as it work after sleep but the logo on center of the screen seems a problem relating to the power connector (obviously reported incorrectly) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Before that the resolution was stuck at 1024 x 768, but now I can change it. I installed the .kexts and ran the command and repaired the permissions, but QE is still not working (and the bar at the top still isn't translucent). I have both 10.4.11 and 10.5.6 installed and while my x1950 pro is inaudible with Tiger, on 10.5.6 the fan speed is always very noisy. Any suggestion?
