it won't boot if I install rx 6600 but, 6600 and works good with sequoia and older

But you have 2 systems with an RX6800. Does the patch work on these systems? Maybe somebody else can help you in getting to work the RX6600 with Tahoe?

@Henties and @XanthraX both of you I feel your pain, Prior to this 26.2 and OCLP Nightly, I had both WIFI and Ethernet working albeit no Air Drop or Hand Off to iPhone Camera.

I spent 3 solid days trying to get WIFI working on 26.2 with clean installations and even replacing the genuine Apple WIFI B/T with the Fenvi T-919 and still no good result.

Just to prove the fault was not something I was doing in error, I clean installed 26.1 again with the appropriate version of OCLP-Mod and behold WIFI AND Ethernet was available.

The sheer frustration that brought on cussing and mumbling incoherently to myself, cause the wife to present me with an M4 Mac mini as an early Xmas present that brought on instant relief.

My Hack journey as a hobby was a pleasant journey until the introduction of Tahoe. From its first introduction, I was a week behind most members getting it installed on my machine.

With this Mac mini, everything just work, boot up takes 5 seconds to the Desktop, I am learning the AI apps and functions that was lacking in the Hack.

I have now retired the Hack in its entirety to a dark corner of a cupboard never to see the light of day. :)

The curious nature within me will still compel me to frequent the IM Forums from time to time but conversation participations will be absent.

I will once again regress to be an official Lurker, which won't be a bad thing as lately here I am not exactly flavour of the month in some quarters. :hysterical:

Cheers.

I hear you @eSaF I have the

Mac Mini M4 too since last year getting it in Xmas right after release but since my wife is the main user of the hackintosh and I still have most of my apps there, I’m still tinkering with it and keeping it up to speed until its eventual sunset as a dual booting build. While I still can, will continue playing with my hack, now determined to navigate through  Tahoe hills and rivers. I’m sure you will be tempted to join the fun and learning here

@eSaF Don't stay away too long, my friend, it's bad for your health to have no stress at all hahaha, a Hack every now and then with a little problem is good for the mind hahaha....😆

hi I don't have any problems with hotspot is connected.

I did a new install just now ....

It shows that to me too, also it shows in my iPhone 16e. But if I cut the ethernet, I have internet on the iphone but not on the Hack. Try to cut out all other internet sources, but let out the iPhone to see if you got signal to your hack.

We have no G5 here. The same LTE worked flawlessly with Sequoia. Well.

Well, then I don't know the origin of your problem. It is for sure not the fork of OCLP 3.0.0 Nightly.

I never said OCLP 3.0.0 Nightly is the origin. Anyway it is a very small problem. I thank you for this work.

Is this key “amfi=0x80” provisional? I was preparing my confg.plist still in Sequoia to upgrade it to Tahoe. I disabled the “AMFIPass.kext” kext and added that boot-args. I've restarted and now FireFox doesn't work and stops responding. I removed the amfi=0x80 and FireFox opened again and it's normal.

Unfortunately, the forked version of OCPL Nightly is unsigned and does not work with AMFIPass.kext. Thus, “amfi=0x80” is deemed necessary until a new version or the official release. The related issue (“amfi=0x80”) with Firefox is a known issue.

If you are in sequoia, you can include amfi kext, remove 0x80 and it won't be an issue with firefox. For Tahoe, amfi kext is not working and so you need the 0x80 boot arg which will cause issue with firefox.

Maybe a suggestion. I use Orion as browser. It is Safari like, working as Safari webkit, but can use extensions for Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

Update: After private communication with the fork author and after action "only use early patches for macOS Tahoe", the code now apples Wi-Fi and AppleHDA patches only. There was a former issue with the code when applying it on system with GPUs unsupported by Tahoe, e.g. Nvidia Kepler. The code would have tried to also apply GPU patches, which are not yet supported, and thus has also failed in applying the Wi-Fi and modern Audio patches. All earlier affected users with GPUs unsupported by Tahoe can just redownload the code by the link provided in post 1 of this thread and just apply the Wi-Fi and AppleHDA patches without further issues.

Good luck,

@XanthraXYour suggestion is perhaps fine for those hackers with a limited choice of boot options, however in my environment everyone of my main hacks is capable of "dual" booting into any of the opsyses as listed below:

2 x macOS

2 x Ubuntu

2 x Windows

therefore six in total and all with one OC based EFI.

Irrespective of the boot option I happen to have chosen to start the respective hack into, that selection is guaranteed to use Firefox as a browser, with even the Firefox versions being identical throughout whatever I have booted into.

I am not aware that any other browser can provide that kind of "flexibility" with the inherent advantages that this entails from a maintenance and user perspective.

Just my 2 cents.

@KGP-iMacPro Now I am a little bit lost because I don't get the gist of what your are trying to convey in your message.

Kindly fill me in, because it seems very relevant for our endeavors to get "Sound" and "WiFi" working under Tahoe.

After the recent update, the code only applies modern Wi-Fi and modern Audio patches. There was a former issue with the code when applying it on system with GPUs unsupported by Tahoe, e.g. Nvidia Kepler. The code would have tried to also apply GPU patches, which are not yet supported, and thus has also failed in applying the Wi-Fi and modern Audio patches. This issue has been removed now. Only Wi-Fi and modern Audio patches are applied now on such systems.

I guess, all these recent changes do not affect your specific systems. Thus, there is no action required from your side, although if I correctly remember you do not use these patches any more because of "amfi=0x80" 🙃.. Unfortunately, for the latter issue, there is no solution until a signed code version will be officially distributed by the developers of OpenCore Legacy Patcher 3.0.0.

@KGP-iMacPro Wow, thanks a lot for clearing my obscured vision in such a detailed manner, everything you posted earlier  now really makes sense after all.

I am actually amazed about the detailed knowledge that you have about my systems, really impressive. Frohe Weihnachten. 🙂

I have now OCLPed my 2 Comet Lake hacks with OCLP Version 2.4.1 and used MaxKernel --> 24.99.99 throughout to prevent

my Alder Lake hack to see the kexts required by my Comet Lake hacks to accomplish activation of the Wifi functionality. Naturally I also applied this to the Kernel --> Block entry, meant for the Skywalk Downgrade to be applied, which I do not, at this point in time, want my Alder Lake hack to see or respond to.

My present configuration now allows full functionality under Sequoia including Wifi plus hda Audio as well as Firefox working everywhere I can possibly boot into.

Booting into my Alder Lake OC menu option also poses no problem whatsoever because I can live without Wifi with audio being available via my monitor's audio output jack. The monitors I am using include a fairly decent digital --> analog converter of which the actual sound output quality satisfies my expectations.

Therefore I can continue using Firefox to wherever I decide to boot into.

Another advantage of the way I have configured my system is that I can basically quite easily test the progress made by the

coding wizards engaged in their effort with OCLP 3.0.0 by just lifting the MaxKernel restrictions (24.99.99) when booting into Tahoe, Version whatever it may be, ensuring of cause the appropriate kexts as well as OCLP version is also in place in the Tahoe environment of interest.

In an earlier posting I elaborated on my principle that I will try to prevent a thoroughbred stallion from siring an offspring with a mare of a donkey "variety". I think that the content of this posting should shed some light as to why I am inclined to think this particular way.

For Sequoia, I recommend to continue using OCP 2.4.1 with AMFIPasskext enabled, anyway. One just needs two different EFI-Folders, one for Tahoe with "amfi=0x80" (OCLP 3.0.0 nightly) and one for Sequoia with AMFIPasskext enabled (OCLP 2.4.1), as the only difference. 😉

@KGP-iMacPro No, not in my system. I need, want and cherish Firefox throughout, to wherever I can boot into.

Two EFI's are, for other reasons as well, are totally out of the question, in my particular environment, besides not having to use "amfi=0x80" allows me to continue using Firefox under Tahoa albeit without WiFi, with sound being available via a digital --> analog converter resident in the monitors I use and made accessible at the back of my particular monitors by a stereo jack socket, at a very acceptable sound quality.

I believe the longevity of my systems has been enhanced somewhat, considering the way my systems are presently configured and actually working flawlessly. I do not need the partially functional "gimmicks" that WifI activation promises to provide but fails to deliver in full, in a hackintosh environment.

This is touted as "Experimental," it is not. a gimmick.  It is a work in progress and it has been made clear many times that amfi=0x80 will not be needed once AMFIPass.kext is updated for Tahoe.  Everyone wants OCLP to be updated and there are plenty of people, myself included, who have grown impatient.  But it is pretty clear that much more was required to make Broadcom WiFi functional in Tahoe than in previous releases. I, for one, do not want to make any comments that would discourage the OCLP developers from tackling their objectives with vigor.
