I believe when you get to the welcome screen a Command+Q will quit the welcome screen and offer you to restart or shutdown the computer which prevents the OS from being damaged. Although I haven't tested this on Tahoe but it works on any Mac and most likely on any hacks.

Another successful Tahoe Beta delta update aka "Groundhog Day" for my NUC6i5SYH 😜.  No change in settings from B6->B7->B8.

 

Root patched B8 with B1 AppleHDA and B8 KDK_26.0_25A5349a.kdk from Apple Developer or Dortania downloads...

All tracks are played with the parameter unfairgva=4 in bootarg under Tahoe beta 8 on intel I7 8700 igpu. All radio stations are played, high-res quality played via USB DAC cx31993 good. Try to disable high-res (see pic) in the playback settings and try to find and play the AAC quality file in the library (not lossless). It should play.

Upgraded my other test SSD to Beta 8 from public.  All good.  So both are on the same level of OS.

I updated beta 8 and tried to install AppleHDA.kexts, but I get this error.
How can I fix it?
First of all, the audio worked with this system, and I didn't get this error.

Have you found how to setup a simple black + text screen saver on tahoe ? Other ones are nor really screen (and CPU) savers ....

I have retired this computer at work 2 years ago, and today I decided to give it a chance with MacOS Tahoe. A little bit of cleaning, new thermal paste and voila! 

HP EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF - i7 8700 | 16GB DDR4 | WX 4100 | Samsung 950 Pro 500GB. Everything works very smooth, WX 4100 worked out of the box. Pretty cool compact machine that can be bought for dirt cheap on the used market nowadays.

So you have been able to access al of these USB ports with no issues using this SSDT? I have missing ports.

Sorry if I’m going OT here but I thought we were supposed to keep the USB ports at 15 to avoid unstable USB behavior.

Have you tried tools such as Mac Fans Control or istats to see if you can at least see and control the fan speed in macOS?
