To all:

After incremental update to Beta 8, my Z390 machine seems to work fine. But there are strange behavior below:

  • HeliPort, ESP Mounter and Plist editor Pro (the only installed apps) has disappeared from Applications folder. HeliPort, ESP Mounter has also disappeared form Open with session settings.
  • Anywhere option has also disappeared from GateKeeper. So I re-type the command via Terminal:  sudo spctl --global-disable. Then activate Anywhere option in the Privacy & Security settings pane

Any ideas, please.

Hi

Look if exists a folder "/Users/Shared/Relocated Items"   with Applications, Library, System and others subfolders.

HeliPort, ESP Mounter and Plist editor Pro could be in "/Users/Shared/Relocated Items/Applications"

Regards

I am sadly following the beta, knowing that this operating system is the end of Intel and Hackintosh, at least in terms of keeping up to date with the operating system.

I love my PC/Hack, with my various SSD and HDD drives inside, my upgradeable video card, or almost upgradeable now... and being able to have, as I do, several systems on SSD without having to virtualize... Mac/Win/Linux. And all in the same “box”...

I haven't contributed anything to Hackintosh, but I am deeply grateful to the community for the masterful work that has allowed us, since OS X Tiger, which was my first hack, to enjoy this marvel.

I think many of us fondly remember those who are no longer with us, with their jokes and their indispensable help.

I truly appreciate your wholehearted help.

Thank you.

Hi @matxpa I found "/Users/Shared/Relocated Items"  with Applications, Library, System and others subfolders, for each update, since few Beta. I don't understand why Tahoe move Applications to this kind of  folder after each Beta update ?.

What about Anywhere option: after each update, Tahoe restore default gatekeeper !  I don't know why, too.

@eSaF Thanks for GateKeeper app. @Anto65 In my case, I use: sudo spctl --global-disable then under Security and Privacy, enable Everywhere.

Strangely, my three apps and settings are moved to "/Users/Shared/Relocated Items" after each Beta Update. Damned Tahoe 🥲 I never see that before.

Sorry but everything negative happening with Tahoe on your machine will not get better with further OCLP improvements.

All that you described here does not happen on my machine, obviously apart from lack of WIFI and all its dependants, System operation and its running are as good as Sequoia and Sonoma on mine.

I think the slow operation on your system is due to poor configuration.

You need to make a comparison between how the machine is running now and ran with previous macOS.

You must realise Tahoe has a lot of differences from past and recent versions and has to be configured accordingly.

Don't settle for poor running performance hoping a future OCLP will solve the problem.

I’ve used this same Optiplex 9020 from Sonoma to Sequoia to Tahoe.  Every time I upgrade to a newer OS I get the same slowness in exactly the same way till I install OCLP Picker upgrades to the Intel Haswell graphics.  Then everything runs well.  Before I installed OCLP mod 3.0 on this PC I couldn’t do anything.  I could get to the desktop but I had trouble seeing the desktop once I got there.  After help from some of the folks here and reenabling Bluetooth things started to come together.

So you can see why I think the OCLP future upgrades that will come later will cure my slowness.  I guess we will see.

Cheers, Howard

New installation (beta 7) from scratch with USB installer. Used my original Sequoia MacPro7,1 EFI with WEG enabled, Apple Secure Boot, fully enabled Sip (00000000) and Vault. Before install updated USBkext (CorpNewt-tool) and everything is working fine as in Sequoia. Booting with same EFI for both Tahoe and Sequoia. Fully working USB ports.

For the last two betas, i didn’t bother with WEG off/on. I just kept it off. With MacPro7,1 i have no problem having a complete installation unattended. The only thing, and it could be just my case, and it could also be a bug with OC, is that when restarting to begin the installation, it doesn’t automatically choose the Installer option in the boot picker. Instead it selects the “EFI” for some reason. After manually selecting the correct one, everything goes smoothly until Desktop. On desktop, for the last two betas, looks like the interface is somehow bigger than my actual physical display. So it’s a tiny little bit cut off. But it’s only the login screen, and only after boot. It looks ok when you just lock the screen.
Anyway, it’s ok otherwise. I’m guessing WEG might need an update or something so it can be used during the updates.

@arsradu I had this behavior in the past but after creating custom boot entries and changing the Scan Policy the Mac Installer is shown first in the OC boot entry order and the installation continues unattended. After the installation ends, It does change the default booting entry to Tahoe (I have Sequoia in a separate disk and Tahoe is installed in a disk used for testing).

Thank you! I'll check that out. Maybe I changed something without realizing it could affect this as well. Thanks for the tip.

It's DRM. On Intel IGPU in Sequoia I have this problem too. Unfairgva=4 & 5 & 6 & 7 in boor-arg solves this problem, but destroys the 264 codec and VDA decoder fail. If you have dGPU AMD , me be need to set correct SMbios, MacPro 7,1 & Imac Pro 1,1

Just updated on my hp 1030g1  from beta2 to latest beta.

I downloaded KDK before on my Sequoia disk and also OCLP -mod latest commit as I knew I would not have internet after installation.

Selected patches I wanted rebooted and all good😀
