Anto65 Is it possible to apply root patch from actual OCLP version (for modern wireless) despite Tahoe version is not yet there.

Sorry for my bad English.

I have tried without luck as that is all my AMD rig needs (wifi).

For those who want, the recoveries of the Tahoe Beta 1 and 2

https://hackintosh.one/s/recovery-tahoe-beta-2

It is ideal for those who want to create a new EFI, from Windows or Linux, and want to install macOS directly from Apple's servers.

A rather peculiar setup, but it worked well with Beta 2.

 • Erying M-ATX, i5 1340P (13th gen) (ES CPU/Engineer Sample)
 • Radeon RX 580 8Gb Asus (via PCIe adapter, because this setup does not have a PCIe 16x slot because it is an engineering CPU).
 • WiFi/BT BCM94360NG (not working in Tahoe)
 • NVME Kingston NV2 1TB

- Without WiFi (BCM) only.
- Clean installation, with full installer (Tested also with online recovery and success).
- Whatevergreen enabled for get a 120Hz with RX 5580.
- Opencore and kexts updated to the latest commits available in Dortania Builds

Don't worry I cracked the mystery in my own way.

As it turned out it is as Simple as I can make it.

He hasn't replied so I don't know if he was being genuine in his statement.

Anyway sorry I took so long I had to insure this worked and happy to say it did.

Follow these instructions carefully.

1. From a working Mac installation prepare a USB Installer Drive with Tahoe Beta 2 for a clean install.

2. When that is complete, reboot into the BIOS and change the Graphics Settings from PEG to IGU (From your RX Card to the CPU Graphics).

Save the settings and switch the P/C off by the Power Cable.

3. Remove the Display Cable from the RX580 Card and plug it into the CPU Display Port back of the P/C.

4. Now reboot the machine with the USB Installation Drive plugged in and boot off it.

5. The Installation will now start and go all the way through, at every reboot do not rely on the machine to constantly boot from the USB during the process, you should insure that it is

by hitting the apropiate key on the keyboard.

6. At the End you will be greeted at the Language Screen, just go through the setup process as normal. Do not copy USB EFI to the EFI Partition of the destination Drive.

7. You can now remove the Install USB, we won't need it again

THE PROCESS TO BOOT FROM THE RX580.

1. Now that we have the install on the desired Drive in the P/C we will now get the RX580 Card into play.

2. Go into the BIOS and change the Graphics Settings from IGP back to PEG and save the setting.

3. Switch off the machine from the Power cord. Remove The Display Cable from the CPU Display Port and Plug it into the Display Port of the RX580 Card.

4.We can now boot up the machine off your normal EFI Folder that you use to boot your other Mac OS with that uses the RX580 Card and that is it.

PS - I forgot to say clean the NvRAM before booting into the new Installation.

        Good luck.

@Mick3lson

Maybe you should try this ;) :

I finally managed clean install, I had to disable WhateverGreen.kext and replace it with NootRX.kext to boot with pendrive. All peripherals work except obviously wifi, the system is very stable and fast, in the next few days I will try to install other software to better test it. Thanks @Max.1974 for your EFI.

I can clearly see LCD in yours but not in mine.

Will have to investigate further or will it be described as something else?

Maybe your cable is not connected to the video card?
Here's what I had to change for a clean install:
1. Disabled the integrated video core in BIOS.
2. Disabled WEG in the configuration.
3. Registered a named framebuffer in DeviceProperties
4. Changed the Mac model to MacPro7,1

I am using a SmBIOS that is included in supported models so that should not be a problem.

Toggling WEG on and off defeats what my intention is, which is to make the process as simple as possible.

I already have Tahoe running RX580 in Beta2 but had to do it via Beta1.

My intention was to see if I could clean install Beta2 with the RX Card online instead of going with the CPU Graphics.

Hi, @eSaF

Is your system able to boot without WhateverGreen and get screen on RX 580 when connected via HDMI port?

@MaLd0n Thank you very much. With the KabyLake EFI folder you shared, I was able to access the installation page on the RX590 without any errors. Previously, I could only install with the internal graphics.

My RX580 is connected by Display Port and WEG is enabled.

The EFI attached with instructions a few pages back is how I managed and ran the installation.

I see. For my case, Displayport outputs no signal without WEG but HDMI port works fine without WhateverGreen.

We just got an RX6800 running with NootRX and agdpmod=pikera that was getting the error /System/Library/KernelCollections/BaseSystemKernelExtensions.kc with WEG. Somehow NootRX, which we know was created from WEG, resolves it.

 • Thanks 1

Well thank you @MaLd0n, for your generosity, and helping spirit.

But I'm pissed because I can't for the life of me, change anything in that EFI, if I do it don't boot.

This last Taco is a challenge, but in the end I win...

@MaLd0n In your shared EFI folder, do you get the message that instead of trying to create all those UsbMap.kext or UsbPort.kext, you just need to use UsbInjectAll.kext? Or is all the magic in your aml file?
