I tried it and Heliport does not start. I tried the last 2 version of Helipost and the latest version of the Itwl.kext and it gives an error

I guess today is my day, guys. Finally...

Tips:

  1. choose the right SMBIOS
  2. set up your integrated GPU properly!
  3. set BIOS to PEG with multi-monitor (not sure how necessary this step is...but better have it than struggling to understand why it doesn't boot)
  4. make sure you can boot Sequoia first, with the same EFI before trying to boot Tahoe
  5. DO NOT reset NVRAM when you see "macOS installer" (second or third step of the process). In my case, that just made the installer go poof! Gone. No installer anymore in boot picker. So I had to start all over.
  6. you might be able to do a clean install with the RX580 only. If you can't, split it in two: first part with the iGPU (that's why it's super important to be correctly configured, especially device properties) until you get to the setup screen with Country selection and all that, then switch to the dGPU.
In my case, I couldn't finish installation with only the iGPU. It would go into a loop from Country selection to Privacy screen, then reboot, and when resuming, it's back to Country selection again. Might work ok for you if you have a newer/better iGPU. In my case, it would just not go forward.
  7. If you get to a "no signal" screen with the dGPU (after verbose screen), try to add WEG (in case it's not already).
  8. try to configure your dGPU device properties as best as you can. After changing so many things in there, I gave up and used WEG. There might be a way to boot without it...but right now, I'm just super tired, and I just want to enjoy using this thing for a while.

Try this

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

Reboot

Trying now.  I even deleted drive and set it up as new. One thing though I haven't signed into Apple, but that shouldnt matter.

Sorry to say it didn’t work. This has got me stumped.

When I freshly installed Tahoe and it went to the desktop it had Ethernet and was working. When I powered off and then on again Ethernet completely disappeared under Network Settings.

Another configuration with Beta 2.

  1. GIgabyte X570 Aorus Master rev1.0, BIOS F39g
  2. AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
  3. 2x 16Gb DDR4 3600Mhz
  4. AMD Radeon RX 580 8Gb 2304SP AsRock
  5. Realtek ALC1220 activated via AppleALC/AppleHDA and OCLP-Mod
  6. NVME WD BLACK SN770 2TB

Audio working with AppleALC/AppleHDA (OCLP-Mod) 🚀

USBs all OK, converted in less than 30 seconds with the new USBMap that came out a few days ago.

WiFi via Itlwn and HeliPort 1.5.0 working perfectly.

Interesting numbers on Geekbench 6 numbers.

I'm triple booting Windows 11, Fedora 42, and macOS Tahoe.

Strange that Windows 11 is close to twice as fast as macOS numbers.

But GPU numbers were higher on macOS.

I wonder if there is any tweak I need to do on macOS to increase performance.

I think I have found some hint for a possible reason of this lower Geekbench results of Tahoe compared to Windows and Linux. I have similar results in my PC. my Geekbench results when I was running Sonoma with iMacpro1.1  was comparable to Windows and Linux. But when I moved to Sequoia and then to Tahoe , I had to change imacpro1.1 to Macpro7.1 as I could not these versions. If I can find a way of running Tahoe with iMacPro1.1 ,  possibly I will obtain similar Geekbench results with Asus Z790 Dark hero

So trust me when I say that I know enough to be dangerous but I did the whole OCLP Audio enabling on my build and as I was reading through the translated text I noticed that it said that it "uncovered" AppleHDA.kext. Well, I let it reboot and my sound works so I looked and I have the AppleHDA.kext back. Not sure if anyone wants to mess around with seeing if this version of the kext can just be added without going the OCLP route but I don't currently have time for a reinstall to test my theory. Any takers?

OCLP-Mod, @laobamac successfully fixed AppleHDA, my hack is almost complete, just missing the wifi. Thanks to the whole community for this wonderful work.

Although I did not even now where to click on (everything in Chinese), I apparently guessed and clicked right and within a few seconds and one reboot, OCLP-Mod did the miracle. 😀 AppleHDA is back also on my Tahoe Beta 2 system and I can enjoy now again music via optical out on my Edifier sound system.  👍
