Please tell me I am not finally going crazy.

Yesterday I did the OCAT to remove the error missing 'Unload' error and sure enough the line appeared in the EFI/Menu Bar.

Today I updated OC and kexts to latest versions with OCAT successfully, no errors showing but the 'Unload' entry is not showing and the OCAT version is 20240002 oppose to 20240003. Deleting the app and deleting the OCAT Folder in my Home Folder, Re-downloading and installation produces no change in the version. What is going on? I have no other version on the machine. Someone please save my sanity. :wallbash:

Interesting OCAT discussion.  There are many Open Core users who don't use OCAT... is there a thread dedicated to OCAT?

EDIT: What do you know ... there is an OCAT discussion thread.

@cankiulascmnfye, it is possible to add IA32 feature to OCAT? Maybe a 32 bit version?

I can't tell. Have you tried the 32 bit version of the app?

BTW: I've tried to get a hold of the "SysReport/Drivers/DriverImageNames.txt" by enabling SysReport in the the Debug version of OC on 2 different machines and there just wasn't such a file, so I really cannot test the "Unload" feature. Probably due to this: "Drivers are only listed if they implement DriverBindingProtocol and LoadedImageProtocol, and have an available component name."

OCLP 32 bit doesn't work on Snow Leopard 32 bit. Interdict sign on icon.

I'm sure you meant OCAT.  If it's not too much trouble for you, would it be ok for you to move this OCAT discussion to the OCAT thread?  The OCAT stuff is clobbering the OC-specific info in this thread.

True! Will be nice if a moderator move it.

And if you compile it yourself? Building 32 bit versions of macOS apps requires macOS Mojave or older and Xcode, since the necessary x86 instructions are missing from Catalina and newer.

Upgraded the EFI on my Dell Latitude E6410 (Nvidia Tesla, SMBIOS MBP6,2) from OC 1.0.1 to 1.0.2.  OC, LogoutHook and LegacyBoot all working perfectly with Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma and Sequoia.  OC continues to be rock-solid for me on multiple platforms - well done, Devs!

Hi Friends,

long time not here but still alive 😉
Possibly not the right place here to ask for an issue regarding video and 4k display ? if then kindly ask to move this to the right place, tnx.

Since Safari 18.x  ( comes withMac OS 15.x und 14.x ) i'm suffering from video in YT and Netflix no longer works with 4k .

It's degraded to 2k ( HD )

Never had any problems before , with and w/o WEG doesn't fix it.

AFAIK its still working with some INtel GPU . With AMD RX 5700 and RX 580 having this issue

Anyone with confirmation or (better) a hint how to fix this ?

Cheers and greetings to all

I think Its possible configure Safari for use in developer mode.

Firefox and Chrome get 4k (2160 pixels). Chrome have many resources for Netflix for exemple. Full Screen.

Welcome Back

Hi all, thanks for welcoming me back.

I'm still using my old rig here ( z390 etc )

We all know there is an EOL for Intel Hacks somedays and as long as it works .......

4K playback : correct, with Chrome it's still working.  Bildschirmfoto2024-10-16um09_21_24.png.a7e5c9c9fa501dc87fb470aa691ac781.png

dev-mode on Safari doesn't help but you're able to open the same content via "Developer" - "Open page with" for easy comparison.

very strange , but seems not an OpenCore related issue  🤔

Well, it's OC related ….   the solution (for me) :

enable UHD in BIOS ( not "AUTO" )

OpenCore 1.0.2 with SMBIOS for MP 7,1

Device properties in OC-Config

@texem

Usually MP7,1 SMBIOS works better with iGPU disabled in BIOS since this model doesn't have iGPU. When iGPU disabled, of course removing DeviceProperties of Intel 630 in config.plist.

But if this settings are okay for you, go ahead.

MP7,1 can work with or without WhateverGreen, have you tried both?
