Beta 9: 11.0 Beta (20A5384c) very smooth update.  Seems to have fixed some GUI glitches with transparency that have persisted since Beta1.  Guessing we will soon see a RTM/Golden Master build. Best of all, my Aquantia AQC 107 10 gbps fires on!

Also, seems that the bootpicker bug (i.e., 'Preboot') has been fixed.

OTA update from Beta8 to Beta9 OK here on my Skylake NUC6i5SYH with OC 0.6.2...

1.  Before update, check you are currently booting Big Sur with original sealed APFS snapshot intact

fusion71au@fusion71aus-iMac ~ % diskutil apfs listSnapshots /
Snapshot for disk1s5s1 (1 found)
|
+-- D00E7741-DC8C-45D2-965F-12F506FABFDF
    Name: com.apple.os.update-39CADE2ADE3B82AE83E20CD72CF4777CE250FFE13B299A10F0A8E29CA4560008
    XID: 23776
    Purgeable: No
NOTE: This snapshot limits the minimum size of APFS Container disk1

2.  Check your SIP setting.  Should be set to enabled but if disabled, csr-active-config should be set to g%00%00%00 (Set in OC config.plist/NVRAM section, csr-active-config = 0x67000000, then reset NVRAM from OC picker)...

fusion71au@fusion71aus-iMac ~ % nvram csr-active-config
csr-active-config	g%00%00%00

Good Luck!

Good Luck!

@fusion71au Thank you for your help. I have reset csr to csr-active-config = 0x67000000. this is. my result from terminal. I think my problem may be changing my EFIfolder as I changed the identity  and serial number in the plist too. so I may need to re enable my hack  to get the development downloads. (the is a tool to do this but do not have it)

Thank you again for your help and interest

Hi, I have already installed Big Sur beta 3 but can't upgrade to beta 8. I have the new build of Lilu 1.4.6+ and VirtualSMC 1.1.5+ and bootargs vmscgen = 1 but no longer needed.I have an Asus G731GW with 9750h

Emanuele-1998 To update to Beta 8 from Beta 3, you must update to Beta 6 before

beta 6 is no longer found. At this point, i download the complete installer again

I had to downgrade to beta 6 first using full installer and then upgrade to beta 9 using software update. Otherwise I couldn't get the beta 9 update to install.

correct, it is an update by chapters, soon the final outcome
