C.frio Hi C.Frio (tá frio aí?) My friend, im "bati a cabeça" (kick my head) all this days...first im not know good to restore but im follow Vandroiy2012 steps and im use my Nvme 256 Evo that im use pcie adapter to make a usb external with Chinese adapter usb-c (see photos). Im restore image .dmg on my desktop (mesa) I have no idea what not works in another place. So, you (we) need space to make this works. Im using my Catalina OS install on my 1 Tb Nvme EVO 970 plus to restore on my USB adapter that was 256 Gb in external adapter drive for SSD Nvme. After that, im learn all commands (im suppose that you know, if not iim edit here, ok?).... 1. hdid -nomount "/Users/<username>/Desktop/macOS_11.dmg" (you can drop image here, but first put this image and desktop... 2. diskutil list choose the disk with first command but NOT choose EFI partition. EFI partition was first number, and BS disk is the next... 3. Erase your destination disk (its necessary be external, because internal NOT make EFI after restore...) 4. Hide your disk "unmount" with this command: diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskX X is your external drive...(im use SSD Nvme in adapter case for that) 5. Run this for restore: sudo dd if=/dev/diskD of=/dev/diskX bs=32m (D is number that 1 item shows a disk mounted, and X is your external HD destination) 6. For see restoring progress, you can type "CTRL+T" (im use Apple Keyboard BT) and wait finish. 7. Now the adventure begins...first, when you try use OC, you need pray so much for God Help you, because this &%%##"" bootloader is a /(/(=)(/%$# , ok? 8. Choice a compatible OC like your chipset, and try use usual boot arguments. Im have lucky to use a EFI posted above by @kushwavez in back pages... 9. After reboot, im advise to unplug any others OS or HDS, left only Catalina or that was installed...(in my case, im do this in separate disks). 10. You need choose rest Nvram and left only one EFI partition installed, so left your USB prepare for some wrong fu**k boot... 11. After reset nvram in OC options, PC will restart by it self, so choose TEST partition, that was a name who Vandroiy2012 left. 12. If you can success on boot, you will need fix OC with @MaLd0n because this guy is the best!!! Im not worry in learn how compile DSDT, our Super Hero is expert on this ,-) 13. Boot and Reboot a hundred thousands times after adjust here and here, you decide that th F%#&%$ Opencore is fine tune, so take you HD, SSD or Nvme and put on slot internal... 14. Enjoy and change user admin, create another, and don't forget the password is 1234. My Pcie Wireless card BT Broadcom not need take off... iMessage and FaceTime not works, even desktop files from iCloud (for used your account from Apple). Good luck, bom Hack, boa sorte, precisar estou às ordens no privado ;-) Esse EFI o Maldon trabalhou nele depois (this EFI Maldon works after can boot on system, is the same from @kushwavez) Z170 Chipset. Zhen-zen
@tunglamvghy1210 @Anonym323 my bad, I wiped the partition and installed it again. Now I know what's going on. Use the terminal to ls what's in the data partition. If the folder called "macOS install data" still exist, then the system files are still not extracted. Also, after the stage 1, there should be a new volume called "Update", which can also be an indicator. So the first reboot may end earlier than expected. It just shows "About 29 minutes remaining…" and then rebooted. It seems some data are written to the nvram and cause a RTC loss on my desktop. But it didn't prompt the detail after I rebooted into Catalina. That also happened last time, but I thought it's something like DW1820a PCIe bug so I just rebooted and didn't write about it. And I suppose you're also stucked at this stage. So reboot into the installer one more time and wait for the system file to be extracted completely. This time it should reboot after like 19 minutes remaining (but not 29 minutes!). Sorry for the confusion. Also please check step 5 for a fix on Safari. It's not updated automatically. BigSir
So i'm not sure if this is happening to anyone else running Big Sur but i'm finding the functionality decreasing with each passing day I am unable to do anything but get into chrome. I can't open anything else without it crashing. I can't even watch a youtube video. When i first booted into it everything practically worked to some degree. Possible causes: 1. The most obvious - It's a developers beta so instability is its middle name 2. Dodgy HDD image that i used 3. OpenCore/EFI although I think this is the least likely since I haven't changed anything since I booted in for the first time Curious to get your thoughts on this. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm on day 3 now Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/344236-pre-release-macos-big-sur-in-vmware/page/26/#findComment-2727515 Share on other sites
