@Matgen84 Set a RAM frequency within applicable DDR spec.

Thanks @CMMChris By Default, my Z390 Aorus Master set my Corsair DDR4 3000Mhz to 2133Mhz, without XMP profile 1. Do you mean I have to remove XMP? It's annoying. Is there a way in the config.plist for Clover and Opencore, to have a fake-frequency?

Every Hackintosh used to be affected by the USB eject bug when RAM was operated at higher frequencies than officially supported by DDR spec. Since Catalina this has been fixed for most machines. Just a few boards are still affected. Set your RAM to 2933MHz manually which is the highest clock currently used on a real Mac. Issue should be fixed then.

This is not quite true, these problems are mostly with Gigabyte boards. My ASUS Z390 board runs with 3600MHz memory clock (XMP Profile) and I have no issues with sleep and USB.

@thedude-0815

I've got a Z390 Aorus Master. Maybe it's different.

Wrong. Nearly all boards have been affected by this. As I said, it has been fixed for most boards since Catalina.

I disable XMP and put manually to 2993MHz the memory installed on my Z390 Aorus Master: same issue "force eject usb" since Catalina 10.15.4

Try 2666MHz as well.

If issue still occurs the problem is something else.

At this time, it seems to work. Crossing fingers.

Thanks.

I hope Clover or Opencore, found a solution or Apple fixes the bug:  put DDR4 3000Mhz  to 2666Mhz, is annoying for Hackintoshers.

I doubt they will. This issue is so old already and since it has been fixed for most machines by Catalina there is no reason spending much time investigating it.

Also, there shouldn't be much a of a difference in performance between 2666 and 3000MHz.

Thank you for your help. :) No issue USB sleep/wake at 2666Mhz on my Z390 Aorus Master (SMBIOS iMac 19,1). The problem of DDR4 frequency begin when I update 10.15.3 to 10.15.4

With a frequency at 3000Mhz on 10.15.4: Catalina behaves differently depending of the two boot loaders

  • Latest Clover commit force eject usb at sleep, mounts the USB at wake (less than a second).
  • OpenCore 0.5.7 only use force eject, nothing on wake

It's curious. Do you have an opinion, just for my personal curiosity

@Hervé and @Sherlocks I fixed my F1 Safe Mode problem.

RTCMemoryFixup.kext
boot-arg= rtcfx_exclude=00-FF

No more F1 Safe Mode on startup.

Nice job! I'll test.  Is there an equivalent fix that does not require RTCMemoryFixup.kext?

Not according to the kext's documentation: range of boot argument is 00-FF.

Follow here I will add couple test result there

https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/765

These ranges work, checksum patch needs, 10 restarts works, 10 times shutdown works but when you shut down and open 30 min later doesn't work.)

Not stable.

I'm trying to install 10.15.4 again after reverting to 10.15.3.  With about 4 minutes remaining in the Catalina 10.15.4 install (before the first reboot), I get the error shown in the attached screenshot.  I've confirmed that the date is good and have tried downloading the Catalina installer again.  I have also tried multiple USB thumb drives and different USB ports.  Any suggestions?
