Thanks @CMMChris By Default, my Z390 Aorus Master set my Corsair DDR4 3000Mhz to 2133Mhz, without XMP profile 1. Do you mean I have to remove XMP? It's annoying. Is there a way in the config.plist for Clover and Opencore, to have a fake-frequency? CMMChris
Every Hackintosh used to be affected by the USB eject bug when RAM was operated at higher frequencies than officially supported by DDR spec. Since Catalina this has been fixed for most machines. Just a few boards are still affected. Set your RAM to 2933MHz manually which is the highest clock currently used on a real Mac. Issue should be fixed then. 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343112-release-macos-10154-is-out/page/6/#findComment-2715007 Share on other sites

My ASUS Z390 board runs with 3600MHz memory clock (XMP Profile) and I have no issues with sleep and USB. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343112-release-macos-10154-is-out/page/6/#findComment-2715048 Share on other sites

CMMChris
Try 2666MHz as well. If issue still occurs the problem is something else. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343112-release-macos-10154-is-out/page/6/#findComment-2715096 Share on other sites

CMMChris
I doubt they will. This issue is so old already and since it has been fixed for most machines by Catalina there is no reason spending much time investigating it. Also, there shouldn't be much a of a difference in performance between 2666 and 3000MHz. The problem of DDR4 frequency begin when I update 10.15.3 to 10.15.4 With a frequency at 3000Mhz on 10.15.4: Catalina behaves differently depending of the two boot loaders Latest Clover commit force eject usb at sleep, mounts the USB at wake (less than a second). OpenCore 0.5.7 only use force eject, nothing on wake It's curious. Do you have an opinion, just for my personal curiosity Edited April 3, 2020 by Matgen84 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343112-release-macos-10154-is-out/page/6/#findComment-2715224 Share on other sites
CMMChris
Try running on 3000MHz again with 10.15.5. On my board (Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming Wifi) I have no issues at 4000MHz RAM clock. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343112-release-macos-10154-is-out/page/6/#findComment-2715239 Share on other sites
Donw35
Haven't had any issues with DD4 3000Mhz on my Z390 since Catalina, I did notice that USB flash drive is not mounted after wake. No error other then just not there. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343112-release-macos-10154-is-out/page/6/#findComment-2715266 Share on other sites

deeveedee
I'm trying to install 10.15.4 again after reverting to 10.15.3. With about 4 minutes remaining in the Catalina 10.15.4 install (before the first reboot), I get the error shown in the attached screenshot. I've confirmed that the date is good and have tried downloading the Catalina installer again. I have also tried multiple USB thumb drives and different USB ports. Any suggestions?
