if you loaded a bios profile from me then it will be.

I Always followed your guide to build my machine ! :geek: :)

But I'm not sure I loaded the config when I updated the firmware to F10

can I just load the F12 configuration  in the first post ? (also if I'm on F10)

Otherwise, I suppose I have to update the bios :D

I'm just scared I'll mess everything, and I can't downgrade to a working clone becasue of the new bios

Yes, Download the latest bios from page one and copy all the bios settings and your be good togo.

Or you can use the bios profile if you prefer.

boths methods will end with the correct settings and a MSR that’s unlocked.

Maybe a dumb question, but I haven’t noticed such GPU Time for WindowServer while I was on Catalina. Is that normal?

First of all, I want to thank you AudioGod's for your work and also for sharing and helping membres! I managed to install BS on my z390 Aorus pro wifi at the first test thanks to you!

I encounter a small issue, nothing serious, but in the case that you knew the answer, I'll just ask: Hackintool gives me a white page when I try to test powermanagment.

I disable SIP, and tried also to delete snapshots from recovery or USB boot, but each time, the shell tells that I have insuffisient privilèges for it.

If anybody has a clue, then let us know !

Best regards

Hey guys,

first and foremost, thank you @AudioGod for your amazing work.

I have used your EFI and Bios to install Catalina 10.15.5 with the clover setup. It has been running pretty stable, so I didn't do the supplemental updates launched afterwards.

Quick question, I have seen the community moving to OC, can someone tell me how can I update my install to run on OC from clover?

I read somewhere someone saying they just copied the EFI folder of OC and that was it, but it sounds fishy.

If you have a Z390 Aorus Pro You can use @AudioGod's EFI almost as-is. The only change you need to do is to copy your Platform Info (Serial Number, MLB, ROM, UUID) to OC's config.plist.

Also be sure to verify if your CFG Lock is disabled or not, because this requires a change in config.plist as well. Everything is well documented by the dawg @AudioGod.

I have encountered an issue with the new Opencore and/or the new firmware (f12k) on my pc.  Admittedly, I updated the firmware and Opencore with Big Sur at relatively the same time, so it makes it a bit more difficult to diagnose the culprit.  The Big Sur side install went fine, and no issues at all, unfortunately as I have a dual boot machine with Windows residing on my second M2 slot on this motherboard, I get authentication errors galore when I boot into windows now.  Mainly the Windows side believes my hardware has changed, and doesn't verify my authentication which has worked for the past year and a half on this build.

Any idea what would be the cause of this with either the new firmware or Opencore config?  Its the only things I have changed.  I am able to get Windows to boot properly *on occasion via F12 command at boot time when I bypass the Opencore selection screen.  Most of the time the drive doesn't appear at all in the bios boot screen. Very strange.

Before this, I hadn't experienced any issues whatsoever booting to Windows properly form the Opencore selection screen.  Windows would remain activated without error.

Anyone with similar experience since the Opencore upgrade to Big Sur or firmware f12k?

You have either entered your details back wrong or you need to pull your real UUID and MAC address from the system and replace the generated uuid in the plist with your real one and then your problems will be solved.

this is NOT a new problem, this is very common.

F12 into windows and then run these commands

UUID

1
wmic csproduct get "UUID" > C:\UUID.txt

MAC Address

1
wmic nic get "MACAddress" > C:\MAC.txt

Great Thanks!

Yes I have the same system as @AudioGod, I designed it to replicate his build.

So do you recommend me to first update the bios, boot and then update the EFI folder?

would you suggest for instance to a first boot from an usb pen to test the OC EFI?

Concerning the CFG Lock, since I'm using AudioGod Bios, this shouldn't be a problem correct?

thank you!

I have come into a slight issue which I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I had Catalina installed and running a dream, however... I wanted to play with Big Sur so I tried to update and broke the install. I'm not sure how but either way I figured it wouldn't be too much of an issue to sort it out again. I have my original USB installer so if it all goes wrong again I can resort back to Catalina.

My issue however is, I currently have 2 GPU's in my system. AMD card which is in Slot 1 for macOS and Nvidia in slot 2 for windows. I've been going through the Opencore guide and it would seem to me they have removed the part that shows how to disable individual slots in macOS. Does anyone know if it is something they have missed out or it is something that isn't possible now on the latest version on OC?

I was looking at the wrong part of the guide.... Found it!

Hello guys, I’m having a problem since Catalina and I don’t know where to start. Hope someone could push me in the right direction.

Sometimes and without any pattern my Bluetooth connection drops as well all my USB port connections. The computer is still working, but I can’t control anything. For this reason, I have to switch the computer off by pressing the ON/OFF button for several seconds until it goes off.

I noticed the time when it happens today and went into the Hackintool app and saved the log file.

The connection dropped at 14:36. That happened while I was using the Magic Mouse/Magic Keyboard and my Bluetooth headphones (WH-1000X2).

I have attached the logs as a .rtf file.

Thank You very much!

Thanks, I rechecked my UUID and that is correct.  I gave it another go with a fresh EFI in case I hit something by mistake while editing the plist.  As was likely the case, the problem now is gone.  :)

My MAC address output had about nine addresses output though, some were duplicates.  Likely Bluetooth, Wifi card and built in Ethernet.

Good luck with that. Was the reason I ditched my Aorus. I tried everything in the book (from flashing different firmware versions to re-mapping USB with different methods) but never got to solve the issue.

The only thing I haven’t tried but I’ve heard people succeed in “fixing” it was to disconnect the case’s front usb panel from the motherboard, which would still be a deal breaker for me.

So Bro - What board did you settle for, is it the one in your profile? I am waiting to get results from AG with his latest board I think it is a Z490 I am not sure though. I did have a problem with mine but touch wood not since AG recommended a BIOS update.

Yes, Z370N WiFi it is. Performance wise not the same as the Aorus Z390 Pro (Stock 9900K and stock optimized defaults gave about 10-15% higher scores than what I’m currently having) but I’m really happy with the small factor, replaceable WiFi / BT, and also got absolutely everything working.

BTW I wouldn’t mind going for the Aorus Z390 I WIFI which is still small factor but I’ve read on several Reddit and forum posts that people are facing the USB issue with that motherboard as well, so I chose something that might be compromising performance wise (although some fiddling on the BIOS could improve it) but stable and rock solid for my field of work.

Folks, the new M1 Macs are the real deal. I bought the cheapest M1 Mac Mini to test, and it plays back 4K timelines in FCP like butter and better than my i9 Hackintosh with Radeon VII that I built with this guide. I'm awestruck, it's a little beast and an engineering masterpiece. I'm going to dismantle my Hackintosh and sell it for parts. I want to thank everyone here that helped me along the Hackintosh journey, but it's time to go back to real Macs. Apple did it.

I've done this yesterday. Will keep you guys posted as I've been dealing with this for a while now. Figured it was the Broadcom PCIe adapter.

Hello, just my experience: yesterday I was trying to use my external audio card and I tried few usb connector that usually works but no joy...not even a light on.

I have a pcie adapter for original broadcom card and I notice that wifi is on (I usually prefer ethernet) so I disable wifi and...poooF !!!! now the card is working......

strange uh?

That would be nice!

I did a few hours of research about that USB issue and figured out that this problem not only happens on the Aorus Wifi Pro version. For example, the Aorus Gigabyte B500 mainboard is also suffering from exactly the same problem.

The issue persists on boards that have 4 USB Type-A ports in a single row.

The B550 board got an update a few days ago which should fix that problem.

I hope the Aorus Wifi Pro will also get this fix soon.

Here is an interesting source of this issue.

Mine came yesterday, I have a MacMini too and it’s not half bad.

Ive also done a 5900x hack build and absolutely love it, it blows my 9900k out of the water and everything I use in macOS works on the ryzentosh.
getting back to the M1 MacMini......Audio Daws and plugins is a mixed bag on the macmini, anything Logic Pro related is up there with the best Ive seen performance wise but wander into 3rd party daws like Ableton or Cubase and it all goes abit down hill.

this could be down to the 3rd party apps not being optimised for the silicon and running via Rosetta. Overall depending on how you use the little thing it’s a real winner.

enough to make me consider turning my beast of a Ryzen build into a windows and Linux only machine and getting a nice 3080 or 6800xt for it and using the macmini for macos.

for under a grand you can really go wrong.

Interesting. Not sure I'm sold on the USB2.0 ports being trouble. But I did pull the USB3.1 gen 2 ports (red ones) as Mac's don't have those.

I did notice that when I connect a USB 3.0 drive to either of the 2 case ports, it bogs down the entire array, my mouse stutters really bad. I can alleviate this by swapping my mouse to one of the 3.1 gen 2 ports but that should not be happening. Seems like there's a lot of conflicts.

In any case, I cut the case ports and only have USB 3.0 (blue) ports mapped. Been a day and no issues but that's not nearly enough time to make any claims. Thanks for the info tho.

I highly doubt it’s the same issue with what we are talking about.

We’re on the same boat, mate! I was ready to order a 16GB M1MBP but then I saw this https://isapplesiliconready.com/ and seems like a lot of stuff doesn’t work yet for my work field (software engineer). Then I saw rumours of a supercharged 16" MBP for 2021 and I think I the struggle to wait now is a bit less.
