Tested the range, still the same.

It's going to perform the same in any slot. Even at PCIe 1x, the card has plenty of throughput for WiFi/BT. Like slapping your Honda Civic on the autobahn. It's not going to turn into a Ferrari.

Snake oil.

you can’t call all other people liars bro cos that’s what your basically doing. If somebody says it fixed there problems and then a second one says it you got to open them German eyes of yours and consider why it’s happening instead of dropping into a stance that everybody is wrong apart from you.

Be helpful and everybody will be thankfully right or wrong but be a {censored} and expect to be treated like one back.
be nice dude or be silent, you ruffle to many feathers on here and I’m not talking about my own.

Here’s the lane sharing and Tiem is correct in the fact that it shouldn’t make a difference as no lanes get swapped or taken from anywhere else for any of the x1 or the x4 slots. I wonder what on earth is going on in that case. Don’t worry I believe you guys that are having the problem, no doubts from me there I just can’t work out why it’s happening or why moving the card to slot 4 helps. I’m not ashamed to say that I’m clueless over this I’m afraid. :frantics:

The only thing I know is that I am about one day in with MSR Unlocked and no bluetooth issues whatsoever have appeared with the Fenvi card on PCIEX4

No. Stop right there. I'm saying at best they are wrong. You can be wrong and not be a liar. Being wrong is ok. BEING WRONG IS OK. Stop with your forced choice fallacy.

you wanna stop right there mate. Your rude and arrogant and constantly talk down to people and your out of line. I never said being wrong wasn’t ok I said the way you come across is wrong as your talking down your nose at people does make you come across like you think people are talking {censored}, this place is meant to be a place of discussion and not a place for you to constantly ridicule people. You have been reported to the mods on various occasions by other people and I always find out about it because they come back to me so you can think what you like but it’s you who needs to fix up and be more polite and stop looking down on people.

Its idiots like you who make me want to close down this thread and go elsewhere

give it a try and let me know how it goes?

it very well could help yes, the last time we looked though the OCQuirks plist it was useless for our setups but that could of very well changed now.

I remove the plist when I list a new revision of OCQuirks so just download R15 from the github here.

https://github.com/ReddestDream/OcQuirks/releases

as a sidenote, it’s harder to get 19,1 with igpu enabled on a OpenCore setup then it is a clover one so I have my doubts that it will help but I could be totally wrong, (it would be great if I am)

I just tried adding OcQuirks.plist and change DevirtualiseMmio to true and ForceExitBootServices to false. Otherwise the same as your EFI (+battery clear). For now it has survived a few restarts and cold boots without errors, including with booting windows in between. Only time will tell if that was a good solution.

And don't leave @AudioGod ! Thanks again ;)

Awesome bud, thanks for letting me know.

take your hack on a boot cycle including flicking back and forth from windows to cat and see what happens.

do like a cycle of at least 20 restarts and cold boots or many more if you can handle the boredom of doing that?

when I’m testing for that sort of failure I tend to do over 50 cycles before I’m convinced it’s gonna hold true.
do keep me posted and if it works well for you and a few others il integrate it into the next update. :thumbsup_anim:

Good stuff buddy thank you. :)

No two board are alike, there will be a difference no matter how slight and may offer a difference in performance, so what works for you will not necessary work for another. It's often said 'We are here to learn and help each other' being rude or abusive solves nothing. If you don't agree with an idea or method, no one is forcing you to adapt, just move on and stick with what works for you.

I never said I didn't agree with it. All I said, was from a technical perspective, there's no reason it should be any different. All good if you want to say we don't know why it works but it works. But I'm not down with saying the 4x lane makes a lick of difference or the card belongs there. It does not.

@Tiem at least it works better for me and for others when I move the card to different slot.

We don't know how it works that way, we cannot ignore the fact that people experiment with the slot position and it works.

You're tunneling on the lane bandwidth, but forgot about the lane position. The slot name is PCIX4, so I'm down saying moving it to X4 slot helps my system.

P.S.:I wonder who taught you English, but the way you discuss matters may upset other people.

@AudioGod Adding something for all of us to discuss: I found several old threads in a forum whose name I should not mentioned here. Many people complaint about the card. Several people had to put it at different slot for the wifi to work properly. So Slot position will affect the card functionality. One person reported that if he plugged it in to PCIEX16_2, he had to set the bandwidth to X2 in order for the card to function properly.

@Cameron Nicholson can you double check your Platform Power Management and see if your PCH Active State Power Management has been disabled?

In conclusion, we found some correlation between changing PCI Express slot position to the functionality of T919 card but we don't know the reason why it happens.

It’s not what you say it’s the way you say it. It comes across completely rude and like your talking down to people. Maybe you don’t mean it and maybe your a nice guy in the real world who knows just try and tone it down or read through what people are trying to explain or say before you load your guns and fire that’s all.

I don’t need to even get involved to start with as I use a completely different native card, motherboard etc etc to most of you but since I have a T919 sitting here along with a bunch of other cards boards cpus and whatever else you can think of component wise I thought I would slap it in and see for myself and I can’t help it if when I put it into the lowest slot it worked better then where I tried it on my system before so I had to agree with somebody else findings that then doesn’t give you the right to jump in and slam everybody and tell us placebo placebo and that we are wrong, tripping or imagining thing or whatever you wanna call it. That’s when it all goes sideways my son.

Let’s put an end to it now and just move on but as you can see most people are taking the same stance as me so maybe just maybe you should sit back and soak that in and think about it and also on how you conduct yourself in future even if you meant nothing by it in the first place.

Peace out homeboy and all good.

I won't have the time to do that sort of intense testing in one go but I'm fine with doing a few restarts every day, so I'll reach these sort of numbers in a few weeks ;) I'll report then.

About the whole Fenvi / PCI lane business, the fact that due lane/chipset configuration we should not see any difference doesn't mean that we won't  see any difference... Remember that we are talking about a shoddy knockoff wireless card being installed in a device full of sensitive electronics. It could very well be a problem of radio interference between the card and the rest of the computer that depends on the physical location of the card. It's for example well known that bluetooth messes up with USB 3.

I am going to keep playing with it, I do think that a Genuine Apple Card would be more consistent. I'm not sure if my card is being inconsistent or my wifi, I am tempted to upgrade my ariels to a name brand but not sure what DB to get. However my systems USB's keep turning off after about 20minutes of use, not sure if my MB is screwed

This picture tells me there has been a improvement

Just curious. When you find your speeds are affected, does it occur after your computer has only been through a "sleep" cycle? I use a native Apple Card, BCM943602CS, and find that after my computer goes to sleep and wakes up, my internet goes to garbage (goes from 225mb/sec to 0.70mb/sec.). Why this occurs, I do not know, but I just set my computer to never sleep to prevent it.

Looks like Power Management is screwed up somewhere. Should clear BIOS and double check again. I would not trust Fenvi at all, should try with another card.

Beta 2 working fine so far:

I have sleep disabled, if it doesn't work straight away I disable it, I shut down my hack before bed and it gets turned on after work or in the morning on weekends, the minimal power saving and component degradation of not having sleep isn't worth my time fixing IMHO

disable Wake for Network Access in the energy saver settings and try your speeds after waking from sleep

So I have been experimenting with darkwake values on my Aorus z390 Pro build for the past couple of weeks, because I started noticing that USB drives were reported as force-ejected upon wake. I would like to share with you guys (and possibly gals - but the chances are low :D )

You can see all the available flags here:

https://github.com/apple/darwin-xnu/blob/a449c6a3b8014d9406c2ddbdc81795da24aa7443/iokit/Kernel/IOPMrootDomain.cpp#L309

enum {
    kDarkWakeFlagHIDTickleEarly = 0x01, // hid tickle before gfx suppression
    kDarkWakeFlagHIDTickleLate = 0x02, // hid tickle after gfx suppression
    kDarkWakeFlagHIDTickleNone = 0x03, // hid tickle is not posted
    kDarkWakeFlagHIDTickleMask       = 0x03,
    kDarkWakeFlagAlarmIsDark         = 0x0100,
    kDarkWakeFlagGraphicsPowerState1 = 0x0200,
    kDarkWakeFlagAudioNotSuppressed  = 0x0400
};

The default flag set by the kernel is 3 as you can see here:

https://github.com/apple/darwin-xnu/blob/a449c6a3b8014d9406c2ddbdc81795da24aa7443/iokit/Kernel/IOPMrootDomain.cpp#L337

static uint32_t         gDarkWakeFlags = kDarkWakeFlagHIDTickleNone;

So removing the darkwake boot argument lets the kernel to default on value 3 which to be honest up until now is the best performing darkwake value according to my tests:

- My machine does not instant wake from sleep by itself.

- My machine does not force eject the USB drives when falling asleep. [UPDATE:] Oh crabs. after a week it started doing it again. :( Resorting to darkwake=0 for now.

- Dark wakes for mail check, Mac App Store updates etc work properly (The motherboard's LEDs light up and the fans start spinning without the monitor waking up) and then it goes to sleep again, turning off the motherboard's LEDs and all fans.

The only con that this setup has (as I have previously reported) is that it takes a bit longer and a bit more tickling of the mouse or keyboard to wake up the machine. But it actually wakes up, also unlocks with my watch and there is no report of USB drives force ejected.

Interesting stuff bro thanks for that.

i use darkwake=0 on the master and my system behaves how it should and always has tbh but that’s fascinating stuff, when I was using the t919 testing it for you lot I did notice that sleep was messing around like I mentioned to you before but using my native card I get non of that.
