I've got an Asus P5LD2-VM.

 

Version 0.4 works, but i've got a problem — I get hums and buzzes from the disk activity, some kind of "feedback". When I boot in Windows, problem's gone and output's clean.

No. I change nothing on my sig. But it only work after I update to 10.4.8 with 8.8.1 kernel. I hope it works on yours too.

I have tried installing the 0.4 fix and the 0.2a fix, neither worked on my ADI card. (ASUS P5B Deluxe WiFi)

Here is a modified ALC883 kext confirmed working on 3 mobo's so far. There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes right now, so please be patient. I am back home with access to 2 ALC883 mobo's(1 ICH8 and 1 nForce4). This kext should work on Intel ESB, ICH6, ICH7, ICH8, VIA HDA and nVidia HDA.

It say's ALC883. That mean's it works for ALC883.

Just FYI, none of the installers that have been posted on this topic have worked for me. I kept getting the installer errors. I've got an Asrock 775Dual-VSTA, I'll give dumps or whatever if need be. Oh well, back to Azalia.

Yes, ALC888 is confirmed working with ICH8 and VIA chipsets but not ICH7. I am researching the ICH7 and ICH8 controllers along with the HDA spec to try to find the problem.

I have your same board, and I have the AppleHDA working with 2 channels out and mic working, using the kext provided by skippyretard a lot of post ago... (I have in my home's computer a backup of the kext if you wish).
