For ALC887 codec use the collection of Toleda or the applehda patcher tool from Mirone/Micky: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/496-applehda-patcher/

It should work without using voodooHDA

Anyone having problems with USB ports?

 

I ran Shanee fixUsb script and it appeared that it populated USB information under System Report.

 

I plugged in my Logitech C920, the entry updates, but for some reason, it doesn't come on. Same issue if I Plug a USB drive in. No detection of the drive done. I have a USB 2.0 HUB and my peripherals connected via that HUB work.

1.Create a copy of the folder S/L/Extensions on desktop

2.Then use an unchanged S/L/Extensions folder, paste the contents of the USB-Fix package in there

3. then generate a prelinked kernel and re-start your system

4. check all USB2/ USB3 slots

did not work. Did a fresh install to ensure we were good. Ran USB fix. Nothing.

I noticed you have dsdt setting fix USB and a boot argument to fix USB and kexts? If using the kexts to fix the problem try dsdt usbfix=false, and drop the boot arg. Also, in clover there are 2 selections in PCI settings set to false try fix ownership=true, inject=true.

 

 

Anyone having problems with USB ports?
 
I ran Shanee fixUsb script and it appeared that it populated USB information under System Report.
 
I plugged in my Logitech C920, the entry updates, but for some reason, it doesn't come on. Same issue if I Plug a USB drive in. No detection of the drive done. I have a USB 2.0 HUB and my peripherals connected via that HUB work.


Do you have audio input from the Logitech?

I will try this today when I get home. I did notice that if I open Photo booth, I need to disconnect/reconnect my camera, but facetime does seem to work seamlessly with this. I've relocated my USB hub to the USB 3.0 port I have and it seems to have to gotten around the issue. My USB Audio is still flaky, but input works from the camera.

Now I have to find the correct bootflags for my hardware...

I tried various options, with "-v npci=0x3000" it seems to boot, after all those lines we're running all over my screen I think I see this grey Apple background flashing for a part of a second and then my monitor shuts down to standby-mode...

I'm using the same specs but with a geforce 9500 GS (until I get everything to work and use my rx 580). I did a clean install on the my HDD with a usb-atata adapter using my MacBook Pro. Didn't ran trough initial setup, just logged back to my mbp OS. I installed clover on the HHD and patched with files from this post. I boot with npci=0x3000 bus ratio=32.

 

After a while the the screen turns black and computer turns in sleep mode (when I press any key on my keyboard it power up without image, before it goes back in sleep?).  This is the output just before that happens.

Try injecting Nvidia in clover boot menu. It's at log in point. You are very close.

Under Options>Graphics Injectors>InjectNVidia is selected yes. Tried with nv_disable=1 as well.

Did you check bios settings SuperIO? Serial ports disabled?

Still no solution for the SuperIO but got it to boot using the files from this post. (Aren't they the same as the one in your guide? Weird.) Used the EFI and kernel. Removed Kexts from the Other folder.  

First boot successful with ncpi=0x3000 busratio=32 dart=0 UseKernelCache=0. Nvidia inject set as well for Tesla legacy GPU.   :yes:

 

Now trying to make my XFX RX580. Downloaded the latest Lilu.kext and WhateverGreen.kext. Copied under EFI>CLOVER>kexts>10.12 .Disconnected my 9500GS and plugged my RX580 with HDMI. After kernel loaded and checks done, screen flash white for < 0.5s and turns black (no signal - aka boot to black screen). 

 

With DP, it freeze at gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0 and fans on GPU speeds up like crazy for few seconds and computer stays ON. 

 

Same action with SMBIOS Macpro6,1 or iMac18,3

 

Any suggestion ?

 

EDIT : Using -radvesa, did work on 1440p (max resolution of my display). However under About this Mac : Graphics is DISPLAY 14MB.

 

EDIT 2 : Added the 4100 and 9510 kext from 10.12.5 (like you suggested here) and can now boot without -radvesa. GPU is identified as Radeon Pro 580 8192 MB but LuxMark identifies 36 compute units running at only 300mHz.

 

EDIT 3 : Followed your advice here, and removed 0x67df1002 definitions in 9500, and 9520 info.plists  (Sierra 10.12.6 S/L/E). Now GPU is working at full speed with acceleration as BAFFIN. Still wondering why Lilu+WhateverGreen didn't work OOB for my XFX RX 580 (Vendor 1002 / Device 67DF / Sub Vendor 1682 / Sub Device C580 with audio Vendor 1002 / Device AAF0 / Sub Vendor 1682 / Sub Device AAF0) with ELLESMERE ?

Please try put Lilu.kext and WhateverGreen.kext in EFI>CLOVER>kexts>others instead of 10.12

I can not tell you the exact cause of your problem.    
Probably an cause of the kernel? It seems so, contact bronya or Shane.
But follow these instructions (from mfc88) to configure imessage:

The User "antrace" has a similar problem with the installation of a music software tool, possible cause can also be found into the kernel. Plz contact bronya to fix this, I think he can help.

I configured my ryzen hack as all my other machines where I have fully working iCloud (siri and imessage too) with correctly generated serials and everything, but had no success on making iCloud working on my ryzen rig, it always says that there is an error when I boot, siri and imessage do not work...

It seems that the problem is related to the kernel not to the configuration.
