X99-E WS with 5960X @ 4.2Ghz

 

Frequency vectors from iMac15,1, SSDT Generated. EIST off (or else constant hard resets.) 

DSDT from nmano (still tweeking).

Sleep fully works with TSVoodo, the only issue after wake is WiFi will not connect, that doesn't bother me because I'm on copper any way.

 

Note: The power usage went up 170W+, Compiled Clover from source 3 times, not a single issue been noticed yet.

ASUS X99-Pro USB 3.1

All by default except:

EHCI Handoff Enable and EIST Disable.

CPU Speed by default, no overclock.

SSDT with freq. vectors from iMac15,1

For me the most stable. Always fast startup without crashes, without locks while running, and without unexpected reboots.

Care to share the configs and settings? :)

My config.plist is the same posted here by SammlerG....i just added string to enable HDMI audio and real Mac MB so you can download directly form here. About bios config, now i'm using default bios settings (load F5) and changed boot to legacy OS and deleted pk keys.

No other changes. I'm testing it without overclock so at stock speed i've a score a little bit higher than your overclocked.

Try to load default parameters in bios pressing F5, change boot mode to legacy and test configuration before starting to overclock cpu.

PS i see you used geekbench 4.1 so maybe your settings are correct. Try to use old geekbench version 3.xx and post them here.

Yes I confirm, config.plist posted here by SammlerG with the latest patches, works without any problems and the system appears stable.

Just in case anyone has not yet taken the test, the CPU score made by GeekBench 3.3.0 and 3.4.1 is considerably different. Just test and the latter gives lower multi scores in the same conditions...

So far unable to test with AppleIntelInfo because when I load it, my system restart. Someone who can get here the sequence of correct commands to load the kext, I thank you.

I am not satisfied with X99 XCPM patches. I thing it’s not fully support yet. May need additional patches. Because unknown shutdown.

MSR support IGPU graphics We don’t have that that’s why disable some MSR.

First off, thanks for posting this guide. Its been highly valuable in getting my X99 rig working. 

 

I was running a Haswell-E 6core, but Ive moved up to running a Xeon E5v4 8 core in my Gigabyte Designare EX mobo, a single stick (for now, I want more) of 16gb DDR4 ECC ram, and twin Sapphire HD7970s. 

 

Both graphics cards seem to work fine, although somehow only one of the two fans on each will spin, even under load. 

 

My Sata drives are detected as x99 (so looking all good I think)

My USB ports all seem to work, although I'm not sure if I'm getting usb3.1 speed out of my one USB 3.1 port. 

I have sound thanks to either AppleALC or VoodooHDA 2.8.9 (AppleALC is loaded, but it seems to go through the VoodooHDA options) 

FakeSMC 6.21 is loaded 

NulCPUPowerManagment is loaded

VoodooTSCSync is also loaded. 

AppleIntelE1000e works but only for one of my 2 intel Ethernet ports and currently only at 100 and not the full 1000meg speed. 

 

Other kexts I have installed but not listed as loaded in system info are:

X99_Injector USB 3

SiLabsUSBDriver64 (not sure where that came from actually...)

 

Specs according to system profiler:

OSX: 10.12 (16A320)

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

My CPU is listed as 2.1 GHz Unknown.

Memory: 16 GB 2133 MHz DDR4

Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7xxx 3072 MB

 

it gets the cache and number of cores right and hyper threading seems to work fine, but for whatever reason, it still has no idea its a xeon despite me trying to put the CPU id in.

 

PCI detection isn't working. 

ECC is sadly disabled at the moment and I can't find out why. 

PWR management isn't seeming to fully work as when I try and use AppleIntelInfo.kext to detect the states, my system immediately restarts. 

Bluetooth on my motherboard was picked up when I used the bluetooth kext provided but it never actually worked for whatever reason. So currently, I've removed said bluetooth Kext. 

Thunderbolt 3 doesn’t work :( My board can do it, but there doesn't seem to be any support for it as of yet. 

 

Its been a while since I last posted on here and I've forgotten how to add attachments. It just says, Error You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file. Otherwise I would gladly add my config and SSDT (that I made to try get power management working). I would also happily share anything else that would help if I can figure out how to add attachments. 

 
Any help in getting a fully detected rig would be wonderful as now that Mac OS Sierra is up and going, Im not sure where to from here to get things running smoother. 
What can I use for monitoring my temps? HWMonitor doesn't pick my processor or GFX cards up at the moment.

At the moment my 8core xeon build seems less powerful than my i7 6 core was. Its not as snappy and Final Cut Pro X likes to lag out for a few seconds from time to time for whatever reason.

with all due respect, but I do not think this is the best topic to clarify your doubts. However, if you have not done so, read the topic from the first page to the end that you will find lots of info, lots of zip, dsdt, plist ... etc, that can help you.

Hi Fergarth,

I can remove my post if you feel its in the wrong place. 

I have read most of the 17 pages (think I made it up to 15) and tried anything and everything I thought could work or be useful as Ive been following this topic for nearly two months. The posts and attachments have helped greatly in getting my machine to where it is, mostly working well.
