@matgeo would you run this script under Linux and show me the output? I would also like to know if you see a dialog box where you are asked what you want to choose. If yes, choose headset and run the script. Thanks.

Here you go.

It doesn't show anything.

Is it maybe because I used a live wifislax usb?

I'm not familiar with Linux at all.

I think hda-verb is part of alsa-tools. Type "sudo apt install alsa-tools" into the Terminal. If it does not work, you can try Ubuntu live

Tried usubtu live , same empty result.

Maybe something wrong with the file itself?

Type "hda-verb 0x0 0xf00 0x0" into the Terminal, you should see the vendor/deviceID. If that works the script should also work. If not, try to install the alsa-tools on Ubuntu.

Try them all with layout 21

kext v4 and v5 don't work.

kext v1 , v2, v3 have the problem with injecting the line in. After a while there is a high noise from extrnal speakers.

Attacing the settings that work (from your previous kext) in case it helps you.

Hi to everyone and thanks in advance.

I have some problem with the sound coming from the headphones. Currently using latest AppleALC, but the problem was here also with all th previous versions.

Here is some info and attached CodecID.

1. Laptop Model: Acer Aspire Nitro VN7-791G

2. Codec Name: Realtek ALC283/0x10EC0283

3. Layouts used: 1,3,11,13,15,44,45,66, 88

Layout 01: Only Headphones and Line In are working with perfect sound quality

Layout 03: Internal Speakers, Internal Mic, Line In are working, Headphones work but the sound is very low and there is some crackling noise

    Layouts 11, 13, 15, 44, 45, 66, 88: Nothing works

4. macOS: Tried on Catalina and Big Sur

Hi, I was using AppleALC without an issue for long. I hadn't updated it for a year or so. recently updated clover as well as AppleALC after that audio stopped working.

I am using Lilu 1.5.5 . kextstat only showing AppleHDAController but no AppleHDA or AppleALC.

Laptop : Lenovo ideapad 310

Codec : CX20751/2

Previously working Layout id = 3
