Type "hda-verb 0x0 0xf00 0x0" into the Terminal, you should see the vendor/deviceID. If that works the script should also work. If not, try to install the alsa-tools on Ubuntu. After a while there is a high noise from extrnal speakers. Attacing the settings that work (from your previous kext) in case it helps you. Currently using latest AppleALC, but the problem was here also with all th previous versions. Here is some info and attached CodecID. 1. Laptop Model: Acer Aspire Nitro VN7-791G 2. Codec Name: Realtek ALC283/0x10EC0283 3. I am using Lilu 1.5.5 . kextstat only showing AppleHDAController but no AppleHDA or AppleALC.
