Yeah it's enabled in the BIOS. The only thing I changed since last time was disabling all the Clover DSDT fixes like you suggested.

I have a dual-boot Windows 10 installation, and audio works perfectly there.

Okay my bad, I had accidentally disabled the kext patches in Clover.  Now I'm kind of back to where I started:  I can see the devices listed in system prefs.  The orange and black jacks are both called Line Out.  The green jack is called Headphones, but when I plug in a pair of headphones, the name changes to Line Out.  I never get any sound from the green jack.  I can get sound from orange and black if I choose the right output, but it only lasts for a second or two, then goes silent.  If I play with the format options in Audio MIDI Setup, it will keep playing audio, but super choppy.  When I stop changing the format, then it goes silent after a couple seconds.

 

In one of the guides, it says that x99 systems should use version 10.9.5 of AppleHDA, is that true?  I haven't tried that yet, and it's not clear, does that need to be installed before running the scripts?

Good call, that file does not exist.  I tried running audio_cloverALC-110_v1.0r10.command again just now, but it does not create that file.  Maybe something to do with these lines?  It looks like it's just moving it around in the tmp folder.

I downloaded and installed that kext manually.  Ran sudo touch /Library/Extensions and sudo kextcache -Boot -U /

After a reboot, the output device is renamed to Internal Speakers, but oddly enough, I don't see realtekALC in kextstat.

Anyway, the problem remains — audio is crackly and only lasts for a couple of seconds.

I have Gigabyte B85M-D2V with ALC 887 Realtek sound card and I installed the kext and the microphone on the back panel is not working.

 

What can I do ?

 

On the back I have 3 ports (Sound, Microphone and Line In), on the front 2 (Sound and microphone).

Yes, that is where I looked, and that file did not exist, so I put it there manually.

After hours of tries I get nothing:

 

I tried:

 

- Verify with DPCI Manager and IOReg that I have a compatibile codec. (DPCI Manager reports ALC888B but the Codec ID does not match)

- Add DTGP and FixHDA to clover.plist

- run audio codec detect command 1.6 that shows even without Audio devices that injection is working. That's strange if you ask me:

I know somewhere in this tread is the answer to my dilemma- "No audio after waking up in El Capitan". Anybody kindly please provide a step by step process on how to resolve the issue, or the very least  is to direct  me to topic or a post pertaining to the same.

Problem: No audio devices. 10.11.6 Asus X99-Deluxe II, 0801, GTX970

Codec-detect tells me, that: Valid audio codec, audio device and Audio ID; audio injection is working, but no audio devices nowhere (but system info) to be seen...

The 120 script worked for me on the Beta 6 install. I once again have 5.1 via line out! (for some reason digital Optical only allows Stereo).
