atlee
I dont think NVRAM is working, because when i try to update boot-args with nvram, no changes. So i need to figure out how to get NVRAM working with my bios. From my reading ASUS have problems with their boards and saving nvram especially Z77 chipsets and up. How many bios versions do ASUS Saber X79 have and have you tried them all?

Riley Freeman
For my P9X79 Pro, 3305 was the last one with writable NVRAM. So see if you can find a BIOS from around that time. If you open a BIOS file in MMTool or UefiTool and find a module with GUID 842A454A-75E5-408B-8B1C-36420E4E3F21 then your NVRAM is locked.

THe KiNG
... And don't follow The King, if your card isn't compatible then don't even try to rework it. Yes people have used different branded bios's but dont risk it. 760 is a great card, don't frig it ... ..and where I told him to rework the card? Don't put words into my "mouth", next time use quote function, is there with this precise reason. All I told him was to setup the card in BIOS proper, Ozmosis is made in general for n00bs but cannot replace user basic functions... Also this topic contain all information required in order to use Ozmosis, nobody has time to repeat stuff for people who cannot spend few time to read it. Riley Freeman
3305 is unlocked, but my CPU is not supported on that bios. Not my lucky day You can use UBU to update the CPU microcode (and other drivers if you like). I think this should add support for your CPU. Riley Freeman
I got no video on boot when I tried Ozmosis here as well. Which is why I'm using Clover. I thought it had something to do with my setup as I know some have had success with Ozmosis on X79 but I never got to the bottom of it. Hoping the next release will fix it. Riley Freeman
If jacoweb is having the same issue I had, the black screen isn't at the OS X boot stage it's at the post stage. The computer powers up but the display doesn't kick in. So there's nowhere to enter the nvram variables at that stage. Adding npci to OzmosisDefaults.plist might do it. After a few attempts with Ozmosis (828) and downgrading the BIOS I just gave up on it and stuck with Clover. If it works, 3305 will require VoodooTSCSync to be added to the BIOS. This isn't needed in later BIOS versions. I'd wait for the next Oz version and see if it integrates the same nvram fix that Clover has so we could use it without having to downgrade the BIOS. Maybe the problem is with how ASUS init the display. Anyway good idea to wait for newer version of ozmosis, 894m has been around for a while now. If i switch to MacPro5,1 or MacPro6,1 the blackscreen goes away. Maybe this is simular problem? I cant change the SMBIOS because of NVRAM is locked on the latests bios. Older one have no support for my i7 4930K. Even if i flash the CPU microcode to the latest, still no luck. So i have to wait for a new release of Ozmosis. Have any one get OzmosisDefault.ffs to work? I have tried to change the smbios to MacPro6,1 but it still loads as MacPro3,1.
ammoune78
Have any one get OzmosisDefault.ffs to work? I have tried to change the smbios to MacPro6,1 but it still loads as MacPro3,1. If you use Oz 828M, your Modified OzmosisDefaults.ffs will not be loaded, only the Mac Pro 3.1 can be loaded by default. With the 894M you can change whatever you want in OzmosisDefaults.ffs, in this way it can be loaded. Can you post some screenshots from booting Windows and OS X, so we can know what's happening! Maybe you can look at this post edited by FredWst: http://www.insanelym...osis/?p=2016498 to change the SMBios in DMI. And for your ASUS X79 you can try this link: http://rampagedev.wordpress.com if there's some kind of help, because this man is an X79 ! Or look at this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/291655-ozmosis/?p=1943874 this man have same Hardware +/_. Aha I dont have unlocked NVRAM on my latest bios. Because the older one with NVRAM Unlocked my CPU is not supported, so cant boot up the computer. I saw a post here about add the SMBIOS data directly inside the BIOS. Will this work with 828M?
